I'm still not buying the Sith slop you are selling. No way, you bring on this great actor and have him portray a Jedi and then you say oh, it's a big reveal as you are Sith .
Same with Osha, okay try on the Smilo Ren helmet, well what do you see? She can see the truth all she wants, it won't break her or change her dramatically.
Then again, it's such a huge buildup to this freaking 16 year ago Sith village massacre who knows!

Good, character building episode. Time to breath after the massacre of last week. I figured Basil told Sol or did he sense on his own?

Our first naked SW character. Get on with your twins loving self Kimir. Join the club.

Then incoming...Jedi land and seek out answers. Dumbfounded for all six episodes. The purple whip flies out to...kill a bug??

Where did Sol go? Back to the witch village?

    - Unknown Planet. Unknown to whom? Osha? The audience? The Jedi Order? The galaxy? Wookieepedia? If it is unknown, does it need to be proclaimed as unknown?
It's certainly Known Planet to Qimir.
-At the start of the episode, Sol clearly wants to provide info about the attack to the Jedi Council, but then once able to provide that info, he changes his mind. Very odd, yet necessary to stay in line with prequel canon, I suppose.
-The juxtaposition of Osha grabbing Qimir's lightsaber and him being naked and he asking her how it feels...well... Unintended innuendo?
-Amandla seems kinda wooden while as Osha. More intense and threatening while playing Mae.
-An implied father/daughter type relationship between Sol and Osha? Qimir seems to sense that their relationship goes beyond teacher/student.
-Once again, episode too short and ending abruptly. I felt unsatisfied, yet wanting more. I suppose that's exactly the intent of a series!
Very intrigued about the next episodes but I'm skeptical that everything can be wrapped up in just two more. Unless they are much longer episodes.

After tonight's episode, I’m like 90% convinced Qimir is a failed Sith apprentice and will be the first Knight of Ren. I think the final scene/stinger of the season will be the knighting of Plagueis by the actual Dark Lord while Qimir and/or one of the twins start the KoR [face_thinking]

After all of last week's craziness, an aftermath episode felt pretty inevitable. While I was disappointed in the lack of action, I still thought a fair amount of character development put the story in the right headspace before diving into the hopefully major revelations of the last two episodes.

As with most of the previous episodes, Sol was once again the standout here. The scene where he took a moment to process his grief and slammed his fist was some of the best acting in the season. I tend to think that he knew Mae was with him all along, but he was going to wait for her to make the first move before immobilizing her. We've already seen how assuredly he handled himself in combat against her. Conversely, while one could wonder why Mae didn't attack Sol as soon as possible, she also knows not to underestimate him, but her first move in reaching for the comm was an instant mistake. And of course, Bazil helped. What a trooper. That last scene with Mae and Sol was probably the best of the episode, a clear indication of Sol alluding to the darkness inside him that Qimir referenced.

The Osha and Qimir half of the episode felt a little incomplete. The same argument could be made that Osha wasn't going to try anything impulsive in trying to kill Qimir, and the moment when he pushes her to igniting the saber definitely worked. I think my main issue here was that Qimir simply didn't feel as threatening as he did in the previous episode, but I also understand that that's by design. He seeks a pupil and he wants to seduce Osha to the dark side, but what I was missing was a sense of unpredictability that made Qimir so magnetic in the Khofar forest. It constantly made me wonder what he would do next, whereas here he's much more measured and calm. The hints at his backstory have some potential: He was once a Jedi, (but apparently he's much older than he looks?) and he suffered a wound courtesy of his former master. I assumed the wound came from his Sith master, but it seems just as likely it came from the Jedi. More to come, no doubt, and he's clearly trying to draw a parallel between himself and Osha. For all the tension I found lacking in this half of the episode, Osha putting on Qimir's helmet was definitely scary in it's own way.

And the Vernestra scenes definitely seemed to imply that she knows more than she lets on. Her light whip was cool, but it also felt like the most obligatory part of the whole episode.

Nitpick: If it's an "Unknown Planet," then don't bother with a title.
Last thing: Loved the little beach creatures.

    7/10

Honestly while the acting was still very good in my opinion, I am getting very tired of Sol being so slow to talk about things. I think there was definitely space in this episode to have his explanation, and while leaving it for next episode may make sense from a storyboard perspective, it just makes Sol look incompetent to me. I'd probably rate this episode a 7 despite the good acting. Mae pretending to be Osha was done really well though! I feel like Osha needed a couple more lines in this episode but maybe they are saving it for the reveal. What about Qimir appeals to her is unclear. Like wanting real connections make sense, but to the person who killed everyone you cared about? Seems a little stretched at the moment but maybe next episode makes it more clear.

Thank you. See I could tell there was something more to it by the weird way it stuck out.

To me Venestra is just an original character for this series. She started with a no nonsense Mace Windu but now it seems she’s hiding things or part of a conspiracy to keep things hidden by the Jedi. We’ll see.

    Additional observations —

those creatures on the planet represented a family unit — parents and child, it nicely juxtaposed the loss Osha experienced. I was half expecting one to get roasted for dinner. Glad we didn’t.

the implied possible relationship with Jecki was mentioned by Qimir

Vernesta Rwoh wears some kind of gown/robe. It’s elegant in a way. Side note — I loved the light whip lash out at the moth.

I half expected the Halloween theme to play when the episode ended with Osha’s breathing.

Also — will Pip be ok or did he get reset for good? Say it isn’t so.

That’s a fair assessment. The series made a point in the first two episodes to both tease a potential Tyler Durden situation and then establish Mae and Osha are in-fact two separate people. Paraphrasing the movie is showing that was intentional. Maybe that’s still going somewhere.

So Sol DID think it was possible Mae was alive, after all? Or was it more of a hypothetical "what would I tell the girl I watched die if I could?"

Maybe Sol is his son, taken from him at young age by the Jedi. Then their familiarity that Sol doesn't quite recognise makes sense.

Seems like Qimir is at most rejected Sith apprentice (which makes his power level even more impressive). Wonder if mentioned anti-Jedi Senator will appear in the last episode, talking with the Sith Master.

Hah... Well first of all, I don't actually hate the show. I just find that it has missed the mark on so many things. And ultimately, I just don't think I'd be missing out on anything if this show hadn't existed.

Most importantly though, I don't owe you an explanation. And I can watch what I want. As much as I want. And comment about it.

Best episode by far. And the best cinematography of the series.

That said, I think this “seduction” of Osha would’ve been more believable had it been stretched across two episodes, and had Osha had no choice but to stay, rather than giving her the option to take the ship. He just murdered a ton of people, including her good friend Jecki, and so it unfortunately makes Osha seem both dumb and a little heartless. Obvious echoes of TLJ, and though I suspect it’s not, this planet looks like Ahch-to (and I think there was an echo of that with the space cow-looking little birdies/ mice), which I liked on a visual level, but which also brought back bad memories of that film. But also far better executed than in TLJ. Curious to read @anakinfansince1983 ’s take.

Oh, and those space cow-looking little birdies/ mice are perhaps my favorite creature design since the Disney acquisition. Just love them. Much more Star Warsy than the overly cute porgs. Like looking at Max Rebo’s primordial past. Just the right amount of cute and ugly. Perfect.

Oh, and I read the episode as clearly indicating that Sol knew it was Mae the whole time, and was feigning not to as part of a means of drawing her to him with empathy. When he let her take the wheel, and then went into that room to ponder everything, it was obvious that he knew. Bazil was just a misdirect, so we would think it was up to the little guy to expose her. But he already knew. As Headland confirmed.

Also, Qimir’s “it was a very long time ago” tells me that he is indeed very old, and is healing himself somehow. Either he’s Plagueis, or his apprentice, or something. But he’s very, artificially old. And that’s very cool. The essence of dark side philosophy. Can’t wait for the reveal of his true form.

Anyway, this was the first episode that felt like it really breathed, and where the world felt truly large and ancient. More like this please.

    9/10.
What don’t you understand about the clear fact that Sol is hiding something very serious?

I thought this episode was okay...

Was never really going to be as action heavy as last week.

My main issue is the run time (again)

Mae & Osha are either stupid or idiots (or both) - the motives changing every week is a bit meh.

There is definately a link between Vernestra and Qimir, they made that obvious.

Also how quick did qimir/Osh get to the unknown planet whilst Sol & Mae were still fiddling about on Kohfar

No, not at all. Not even one bit. ;)
There is nothing indicating that these scenes are happening at exactly the same time.
Good thing it’s a TV show, then, and there are more episodes. More episodes where they just might…resolve some things. Just a guess.
Those little thala siren-looking birds/ mice are better than the porgs on all levels, IMO. I want one. Or ten.

Also, I think you meant ancestors of the porgs, not descendants. :)

The saber whip was a bit too much, but I enjoyed the episode overall.

In fact, I'd dare to say perhaps it's in my top 3 non-Andor episodes of all SW tv.
