End of the High Republic makes it Darth Plageuis, the TeeVee show. Mark it down, people! Probably not but I wouldn't mind.

Nightsisters would be fun, but it’s oh so hard for media to portray witches in a way that doesn’t come across as too effects heavy. TCW is guilty of thus, with swirly green lights all over the place. As long as there’s none of that, I’m more than happy with this being about a nightsister.

But yeah, the title graphic looks more Sith-like, especially with the lightsaber cut. I would love something related to the Sith Eternal in this era.

    Which is reason for optimism.

I do get the unease with TV though, as there is a clear, if unofficial, hierarchy of mediums. If TV or film wants to ignore a book, it can do so.

I'd like to think they've learnt from the last few years and this will be closer to RO in terms of coordination than TLJ / RoS who couldn't work together with each other, never mind anyone else.

I have the feeling that this series is a recycling of abandoned concepts originally intended for Benioff & Weiss movie trilogy set in the past.

I can see that and Taikai's thing as well.

Which in my mind is a big upgrade if that turns out to be true.

If High Republic is the KOTOR-esque past thing, Taika will go further back and give us psychedelic ancient times that are metaphor and literal at the same time like MORTIS and Force Priestess stuff on spice! I mean what better to portray ancient facts than in a way that people needn't take it literally unless they are wookieepedians.

But, I still doubt Taika would portray the beginnings like Dawn of the Jedi and Ach-To. But I totally could buy into him doing something with Tython, or maybe Ruin and pre-Bane Sith, like the tale of a previous Chosen One, the Mortis family and how it ended up on Mortis, why they used the 2000+ years old Jedi distress signal etc.

Makes me wonder though if SW metaphysics end up looking like Marvel's MCU cosmic tales where spacetales as well as microcosm as per Antman are very psychedelic in color, humor and less hard scifi. It would kinda fit Lucas microbiotic world and the like, but I want a difference to the MCU visually nevertheless.

PS: At this point I'd even consider Taika adapting ALIEN EXODUS on screen and I'd be glorious! Dang now I want that to happen! Give us the Lucasverse and have Taika connect, THX1138, American Grafitti, SW, Indy, Willow and more!

according to the new information from The Vow of Silver Dawn, "the end of the High Republic era" is approximately 82 BBY, the exact year that the sith that dooku heard in Jedi lost was a Darth . Darth Skrye

A (so far) Chinese-only online release that though officially licensed seems to be of dubious canonicity. Check out the thread "The Chinese Star Wars Saga"

It's not really part of the High Republic, even if it supposedly takes place in the same time period. It's not part of the High Republic publishing initiative. Whoever wrote it wasn't part of the meetings with Scott, Soule, Gray, Ireland, and Older. The art and character designs were not developed by Ian McCaig, Phil Noto, etc working together with Scott, Soule, Gray, Ireland, and Older. It's not mentioned in the StarWars.com article EVERY STAR WARS: THE HIGH REPUBLIC BOOK AND COMIC SERIES (SO FAR).

These socks are more relevant and official to The High Republic than that novel that will probably never get an English translation or even be physically published.

Only unless we get more verification, will I think era ends on 82BBY then 100BBY.

I prefer even the old Count Dooku (born 102BBY) not having any actual memories of that era, while he would if the era ended on 82BBY.

Just to clarify about the whole "Vow of Silver Dawn" thing, Matt Martin has confirmed on Twitter that the story is fully canon. He also confirmed that it takes place during the High Republic era but is self-contained and not connected to the narrative in the "High Republic" publishing program. (Matt danced a little bit around the question of whether or not it's actually part of the program... but it's not part of the program.)

Going forward, I don't expect every HIgh Republic story to be a part of the "official" initiative, yeah.

I just think it will be a general occultist with no direct ties to anything specific.

I want this to go full Cult/Supernatural Encounters

Well, according to Wookiepedia, the character of Darth Skrye was created by Claudia Gray rather than Cavan Scott, which to me does hint at her possibly being involved somewhat with the High Republic.

I will say, it would make sense for me that her character uses elements of the witch archetype. I can’t remember why right now, but Darth Plagueis himself reminds me somewhat of Macbeth, which makes the idea of his master being witch-like fit rather well.

    Developing what in the ST?

I mean that entirely sincerely. Developing the story that became TFA? Or was she involved in sculpting the overall story across all three movies?

That’s a good question. Her job title doesn’t tell me much, but besides having producing experience she is also a member of the Story Group. This article included a quotation from her that implies that she helps come up with the story in a broad sense and helps connect it to what came before, though likely she does much much more too, but she’s at least involved in that major creative sense:

Rayne Roberts: “As we develop new stories and new characters, our job is to maintain the emotional legacy of Star Wars but add more that speaks to the filmmakers’ own interest and experience. That helps it to feel fresh. I think about how Daisy inhabits Rey – Rey is so comfortable in her power. We wanted to see this woman who was going to find her power, and that’s what we’re going to discover in The Rise of Skywalker.”

And here’s a Lucasfilm interview with her that tells us much more about he role. So besides having a role in production, she essentially seems like one of the “editors” (if movies were books) who give feedback and help plan the development of projects.

I think with the time preriod we are in and it being a mystery thriller. Darth Plagueis as this female driven character's master. Also jedi characters such as Dooku appearance.
