Mini Series "The Acolyte" Season 1 Discussion (Spoilers Allowed)

Pretty sure that’s only the click baiter Mike Zeroh and the sometimes funny gimmicker Doomcock.

 

The dark side is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.

 

I read the source of that episode 3 take (The Park Place / Geeks and Gamers) and you can read it in his writing that he is seriously triggered and threatened over a perception that men have been diminished and “replaced” by women and women who like other women. That’s very clearly his interpretation and every criticism he levels at the show and the sets and Amandla is diminished by his clear anger over this perception.

I will be surprised if it feels anywhere near as overtly political as he is suggesting. We’ve already seen night sister “mothers” who live and do everything together without men around and we already knew that some of them have raised offspring.

 

I don't think Sol knows whatever it is that was done 16 years ago, or the extent of it. He seems sincere in thinking Mae is dead. So happy I'm more interested in the story, than what fan service cameo might be coming up. Not that I don't love some fan service every now and then.

Does anyone know the Jedi's stance on suicide? It seems opposed to their core philosophy of life and balance.

 

Maybe in the Rey movie she will find a while bunch of young children created by the force. lets go even further!

It’s almost as if their issues are about something other than SW.,

 

Its never not about Star Wars.

Even if they don't like something being added to their Star Wars, its still always about Star Wars.

 

You know if people don't like something they can always not watch. It's completely normal to lose interest in something over time. It happens to most everyone who consumes content. It doesn't give anybody the right to try to spoil other people's fun (which is what many of those folks are trying to do).

 

When you’re downvoting a show before seeing it and approaching every bit of news with seething hatred because the showrunner is a woman with purple hair and because there’s a bunch of non-white people in the cast, it ceases to be about Star Wars and more about your bigotry.

 

Crying that Hollywood is woke, or coming up with lies about Leslye Headland being fired isn't about SW. Crying that the Force is female isn't about SW either. It's about crybabies not liking society and having tantrums about everything in their view.

If this were just about Sw, it would be entirely different.

 

So I posted more details yesterday, now some pages ago, but does anyone else think the underestimated poisoner is going to become (or already is the apprentice or newly-made master) Darth Plagueis?

 

I just watched episode 1 again. Enjoyed it more.

 

It might still be too early for Plagueis but he definitely might be associated with the current Sith as well.

 

I think he's just a poisoner. He's kind of goofy and it doesn't make sense for me to have him be the Sith reveal.

Maybe the Sith is Carrie Ann Moss' Master Indara. She wanted her Jedi identity to die and for her Acolyte to do it.

Forgive me if this was already discussed but is Yoda confirmed for this show or is there at least a strong rumor of him showing up for at least a cameo? I’m honestly surprised he wasn’t name dropped in one of the first two episodes.

 

I thought she’d be at first, but we have a body.

I think his “goofiness” is just sly manipulation, to make him underestimated.

 

Supposedly Headland wanted to use Yoda, but was told no. However, this could just be a story to make his appearance more of a surprise.
