Torbin brought the violence then took a vow of silence. For ten years he denied it but he did supply it.

He had really well kept hair for a guy in a force-meditative state for 10 years. Someone in that temple was shaving him daily. Padawan Greg, it's your turn.

Maybe being the force conduit like that slows down your body's natural processes too so that your beard and hair and nails won't grow naturally. Or then indeed someone takes care of his appearance.

Sounds like a power the Sith would be after. Maybe that's how Palpatine lived so long lol.

Did the show say that he is in that state all the time? To explain stuff like that that isn't really that important we can just say he isn't meditating like that all the time but that he has also just taken a vow of silence on top of his meditation.

That's how I interpreted it. The Jedi still need food to survive, so I can't imagine him just floating there 24/7 for a decade.

What led the Jedi right to Osha?

Head-canon: There were cameras in the bar where Mae attacked the Jedi Master, and they used some kind of facial recognition software on her, and that came up with a hit that said "Osha".

Because, otherwise... I mean, they have nothing but the eyewitness testimony of the bartender, describing a person on one planet, and they immediately zoom right in on Osha?

The trouble with that - and regardless - is that didn't Osha have a pretty iron-clad alibi? I guess the show didn't establish the exact timing of the attack, and whether there was any way Osha could have gotten there and back in SW terms?

Anybody remember the Magnum PI two-part episode with Sharon Stone playing twins? I was wondering if that's the plot twist they were going for, but after ep 2, that doesn't look likely.

I wonder how many Jedi padawans leave the Order before becoming Knights. We know there's the Lost 20, which means it's quite rare for those who do attain knighthood or Master to leave.

But if there are a lot of drop-out padawans out there, like Osha, that could cause a lot of problems. People like Osha may forget their training and talents, but others could easily keep on using the Force for their own purposes.

They'd probably have to keep watch on all dropouts to a certain extent.

I don't remember that episode of Magnum PI, but it looks hilarious.

Yeah, people say Sharon Stone's acting eventually got better, but I think it just got a little less awful.

I'm not sure whether it's good to say I do, or bad to admit that I do.

Unless a sharon stone can be used to power a lightsaber, let's not get too, too far off course here.

I feel like we are gonna end up getting some twist that the jedi did something bad that resulted in many deaths. Thinking they were doing the right thing by the force. Or at least a group of jedi that the acolyte is trying to kill.

The showrunner has said they ain't going to go easy on the jedi. And so far... the show hasn't been that harsh on the jedi. The jedi are still shown in a fairly good light.

The vibe I get is that the show is about punishing the jedi, or at least of these jedi. And that the showrunner might want us understand the revenge the acolyte character desires against the jedi because of what they did.

The low info types online have begun circulating an out of context clip from Amandla Stenberg being interviewed by Trevor Noah for a role called “The Hate you Give.” The interview is more than half a decade old apparently and the book specifically deals with racism.

They are circulating the quote “The goal was to make white people cry” and pretending that it relates to the Acolyte and it’s getting the already angry types even angrier.

Of course this would all be known if any of these people even questioned anything their angry feeds told them in the slightest and googled but, nope, just keep sharing and raging on. The campaigning against this show is similar to techniques used during election cycles. Perhaps because it’s coming from some of the same people.

I think RT should just get rid of the audience rating section all together. Treat these people like the emotionally inept beings they are, like naughty children. If they can't play nice, take their toys away. It’s been badly bombed on IMDB too. Unfortunately, I can't see this trend ending anytime soon with SW. Its here to stay. Their goal is to get it down to zero, or as close to. Skeleton Crew, the Rey film, they're all going to get hammered.

Any semi-reasonable person can look at the ratings and realize it is a worthless, pointless and broken system and then choose to watch whatever they feel inclined to watch, regardless.

That's how it should be, but sadly many people don't even think that far. They may not even get to look at it themselves, instead catching rumblings, going by nothing but hearsay, which then keeps some of them away from even watching in the first place. Lots and lots of people pay no attention to details on stuff they are not familiar with, and are thus susceptible to be influenced by any of the vague bits that do end up reaching their ear.

Sadly, endlessly trashing something does work in terms of bringing down the general perception of something. Plenty of people will connect the badmouthing to the project or franchise and they stay connected, even if they see nothing that supports the claims. It still tends to work on a subconscious level. Really nothing more than the known effects of propaganda. Smear something or someone long enough and hard enough, and it will creep into the minds of people. It's not that much of a problem when there is a clear cut line between the majority and the fringes, but that is something that has erroded a lot over the last few decades thanks to propaganda and power-hungry scumbags with no morals.

Love the silliness and "controversy" as it will only bring more attention and possibly a bigger audience to the show.

It seems there are two type of SW series, those with storylines that take place in the GFFA and those that are about known characters and story arcs previously in SW. Shows like the Acolyte and Andor, verses Obi Wan or BoBF. I think the critic reviews of Andor and Acolyte wake Disney to the fact story matters.
