Well you know maybe he just needs to go get a real job. All massive franchises are going to have people that like their content and don't like their content. We don't really need people like Campea trying to make a living off of it by saying what 'he' thinks needs to be fixed.

Admittedly, it would be hard to see Mae having any anger at Mama Witch #1 if she used violent means against the Jedi... but (and I’m just spit-balling here) if she used her powers to make Mae go lock Osha in her room and start a fire, and then Mama Witch #2 found out and died at Mama Witch #1’s hands, as well as starting stuff with the Jedi, that could more feasibly freak out Mae.

Which brings me to one of my “BTS theories” about why the first few episodes of the series were a bit insubstantial and poorly paced compared to the last one (since it’s not just the action occurring to heighten things, but the actual narrative getting sped up quite a bit) - if, as sometimes seems to be the case, the series is another instance of someone having a movie-length narrative they’re trying to stretch out over a season, Osha and Mae might have been “stuck” in less fleshed out or active characterizations because the season format postponed the “hook” for both of them until now.

Osha has a somewhat more fleshed out personality, but has been extremely static as a character, with her sister’s emergence still not really sparking significant change in her personality; in contrast, Mae’s had a sudden, underdeveloped wild card nature in the last two episodes, but her actual personality seems to contradict itself, especially in the flashback episode and her sudden psychotic turn.

Both of those make sense if they were “waiting” for the hook of a more complete flashback we’re likely getting soon.

If Osha’s going to get corrupted by Qimir’s take on events, than him telling her the story is the catalyst for her arc, not her sister’s return; if Mae’s perception is going to get an earth-shattering revelation that changes how she’s seen by the audience, than she wasn’t really supposed to be “truly known” by the audience until the truth is revealed later.

I’ve been thinking this show has a similar “something messed up has happened” catalyst to the old Knights of the Old Republic comic book, but that series had its “Holy ****!” moment at the end of the first issue, while I think Qimir’s reveal and whatever the truth of the death of the coven is are that “Holy ****!” moments of this series... and they just stuck them a bit too far into the story, or didn’t compensate by creating better “side dishes” to the main plot.

I can't imagine what those middle aged men were thinking while walking out of theaters after watching Teddy bears beat a big bad Empire.

Apparently middle aged men were disappointed with The teddy bears thinking they were silly.

And then later Lucas allowed 2 Teddy Bear TV spin off films.

Haven't seen the show, so no idea if this makes sense, but the most surprising twist and one which would explain why the Jedi Council doesn't learn about the 'Sith': Sol is the Sith Lord.

The fact that people here are repeatedly talking more about the backlash on social media and stuff then the show itself says a lot.

I'm not sure the views for the Acolyte are really good considering how expensive it was. The numbers for the first five episodes aren't really so big.

That said, we still don't have enough data. Maybe Nielsen could provide more information in the future.

    I agree on this.

This is just a possibility that entered my mind today, and I'm not officially positing it until I review some of the Coven's lines again, but I wonder if we've been misled about how the Coven created the twins.

We've been assuming no men were involved because the Coven has no male members, but in similar situations men have been brought in to perform sex magic rituals.

So since the Coven doesn't ban the darkside, they might not have a problem with recruiting a darkside user for their reproduction ritual. Since we're talking about the Force here, maybe physical sex wouldn't be necessary, just the Force energies of a male. I'm not sure if this even makes sense or is necessary, just pure speculation here.

But if the twins are produced this way, perhaps the witches lie to the Jedi when they say there is no father. They just don't want the Jedi to know that a SITH LORD was used to create the twins.

And the Sith may have had his own reasons for participating in the ritual. They would likely be using the Coven for their own experiment in the Force. ,

So, it would be very surprising if we ended up with a I AM YOUR FATHER moment at the end of the season. This could be interesting since most have just been assuming no men were involved with the twins.

And Headland has said that the focus of the show will now shift to a father-daughter focus, on Sol and Osha. But perhaps she is also hinting at someone else here, another father.

Just saw the most recent episode...Wow!

Anyone who was feeling deprived of entertaining, prequel-style lightsaber duels over the last several years should now feel quite satisfied!!

And as for all the recent speculation on 1. Who the supposed Sith Lord is, and 2. How is the secret of the Sith kept, in order for the Jedi council to not be aware of this emergence.......It looks like they answered those concerns and tied everything up with a nice tight little bow! Man-wipeouts ALL AROUND!! [face_laugh]

After seeing this-rather entertaining, although limited in scope-half hour episode (which honestly felt like a single scene rather than an actual full episode), I was honestly left wondering; with everything that went down and was revealed, what must they have in store for the second half of all this!?

We haven't seen David Harewood yet. Who do you think he will play?

Could he be Qimir's Sith Master?

I hope they give him a role worth his talent.

Yes, he's very experienced doing acting behind loads of makeup and CG.

But I also think he would be a great Sith without any of that.

I don't have a preference in this regard, but I hope they give him a good role.

I agree. I loved the episode and the series as a whole so far. I quit reading negative comments and just enjoy seeing more Star Wars. It’s a peaceful life

I am no longer married to Plagueis being a Muun. He could look like David Harewood.

Does he also go to his local pizza place, order a pizza, find it to be one of the top four most delicious pizzas he's ever eaten, and then tell the owner that he thinks they should stop making pizza because it just doesn't seem like the right line of business for them? Absolute maniacal insanity.

Guys this is a tough one for me. Obi-Wan Kenobi, or The Acolyte? Which, is, better.

I’m not going to pretend the show is perfect, but damn if it hasn’t been a very entertaining ride so far. Episode 5 in particular… I just don’t know what people want from Star Wars anymore, and I don’t think they do either. To be honest, it’s like we’re all watching completely different franchises the way people talk about things.

I can’t wait to see more each week, and episode 5 really heightened things. I’m excited because I just don’t know where it goes next, and I’m looking forward to finding out each week here on out.

I agree with you, but can you imagine the outrage from the "righteous" fans (who have probably never read Luceno's novel) if that happens? Are we strong enough for that?

    Me too. But the drama!!!
