No, but then i ain't the one worried about whether the budget will put them off making a 2nd season.

I think it would be a big mistake to lower the budget for The Acolyte. Many people already overestimate what a 180 million budget can do for a TV show, which usually runs longer than a movie with a comparable budget.

We should expect a movie with the same budget to look better because it has a lower running time.

If anything, if LFL-Disney wanted to treat their TV shows with appropriate quality, I would argue they should be spending even more than they do with their best funded shows.

If they aren't willing to spend sufficiently, then I would change my position on new shows and say they should just focus on movies.

Star Wars content should not just be consumable content; it should be elite art.

Its frustrating that we have San Diego Comic Con and there is no announcement of a possible season 2. if anything, I've read that there is nothing planned for a season 2. But, we are going to get two book that are supposed to bridge the ending of The High Republic to the Acolyte. We keep thinking that star wars fans are just going to be satisfied with books. They may have been from a long time ago when Sue Rostoni and Randy Stradley from Dark Horse were running good tight stories but now there is no real relevance. The Acolyet should have already been greenlighted for a second season. Young Jedi Adventures not only got a second season it starts next week.

Relax. Season 1 just ended. Time still exists. And there’s some more of it left before the end.

Well, the D23 will happen on August 9th, 10th and 11th. If they make an announcement for a The Acolyte season two, these should be the days for that.

I suspect they won't make an announcement. it will likely be revealed casually during an interview or something.

Studios always make a public announcement when they announce a new season. After all, they want to get fans excited with that news.

The D23 also tend to announce future projects, so it would be weird they won't announce The Acolyte season 2 in that event (if there are plans for a season 2).

What studios don't announce is cancellations. In that cases, they just leave the information free for other media to expose.

They tend to announce new projects, not often do they announce Season 2, 3, 4 of a show.

And when they do, its only announced when its unexpected. When no one believed it was ever gonna happen/ While Series 2 of The Acolyte isn't announce material. Everyone is pretty much expecting a series 2. I think most people would be more shocked if they announced it wasn't happening.

Seasons 2, 3, 4 of a show are always announced. I follow many shows in streaming services, they always announce when a new season is officially renewed.

If The Acolyte is officially renewed for a season 2, it will be announced at some point. The D23 is a good option, because Disney announces future projects and seasons there. If they don't say anything about The Acolyte season 2 in D23, that isn't a good thing.

Also, the cancellations aren't officially announced. This information is revealed althrough other media.

That post clearly referred to renewals not getting big stage reveals, and that is true. It is rather rare for a renewal to get big fanfare. What you tend to get is some sort of press release or side remark at a business meeting.

There is zero reason to assume that it wouldn't be a good thing if The Acolyte doesn't get mentioned at D23. Lucasfilm has not used D23 to make any sort of announcement over the last few years. They have mostly shown some sizzle reels of already announced stuff, and that is about as interesting as things got. They had a trailer for The Mandalorian S3 in 2022, but that was a rare exception, and the season not only had been announced far earlier, there also had been a teaser at Celebration before that. D23 is largely for regular Disney material and Marvel, with only minor engagement from Lucasfilm. If they want to go big for an announcement, they use Celebration.

San Diego Comic Con has been used even less than D23 by Lucasfilm. Why would you expect something from that event when that hasn't been the case for quite a while?
Maybe stop expecting things from events that haven't given any reason to expect things, and you won't be as frustrated.

Both Vernestra's history and Crimson Dawn returning in Outlaws suggest otherwise.

I wish that instead of a season 2 of Acolyte they create a Plagueis show with Qimir and Osha being secondary characters but i dont think that will happen im sure they want to make Qimir and Osha into important characters

Plagueis dosent work as a main character. Qimir and Osha with him being their main foil does.

Actually none of the underlying questions have been answered. KK hasn’t extended her contract that ends in seven weeks apparently (and Acolyte would die with her), the budget overhaul - probably done but not confirmed - hasn’t been announced to shareholders. We don’t know the numbers except them being to low to be display in Nielsen, but apparently not that great.

Also God knows how the state of actors contracts looks, as they took forever to show the series. Might need to renegotiate.

So I guess they need to deal with some more general issues before deciding if they want to continue the series.

Most of the actors' characters are dead and one of the three remaining is married to the showrunner.

And with a season 2 you can get a whole new cast and season. Feel like different show. You got two actors and two Actress. Season 2 would probably be 3 years Away by now.

Not for me. I only believe the official announcement. If this happens, many bigoted *******s can celebrate. They won, but Star Wars failed.
