I was just reading about an alternate Mustafar duel that would have resulted in Anakin besting the entire duel, and Obi-Wan only won by default because he summoned his lightsaber while in a choke hold by Anakin, which would have caused the amputations. I personally would have enjoyed this much more because it would have shown how powerful anakin really was as the "Chosen One". I'm sorry if this has been discussed before, I searched and didn't find any thread about it.
I disagree. First of all, having Anakin’s injuries be an accident sounds kinda silly. There’s something far more tragic (as is ROTS’s tone) that Obi-Wan is forced to enact a swift violent action against Anakin’s unrelenting pursuit and arrogance.
http://www.sci-fi-online.com/Interview/05-11-01_HaydenChristensen.htm I read in an interview with HC. Ignore first link. This is the correct one. That's what I get for using clipboard. https://screenrant.com/revenge-sith-alternate-duel-all-saga-changes/
Thanks for both links, @Brer79 they were great reads. Having said that, I'm glad they did not go with this idea. I feel like him accidentally getting chopped up seems like something from Monty Python. Having Obi-Wan having to fight someone he trained and cared for was much more epic, unexpected and that set the tone for the movie.
My least favorite duel of the entire saga... I think anything else would have been better. Full disclosure? I hate over the top cgi, and much prefer the intimate lightsaber fights! This one to me needed to be fought beside an unstable volcano, with much more dialogue and Anakin should have had a red lightsaber The actual end of the fight setting (where he catches fire) was good.
I'm not saying I'm right, and I can't be bothered arguing about it as it's just a personal preference for a Jedi vs Sith. He was Darth Vader at that point.
