the only use I've found for it is watch muti-angled porn, you can change the angle of the scene

that button doesn't get much use. it was a feature that was hyped when DVD first came out but no one's really used it (except porn).

it's where the film is shot by different cameras and while watching the movie one can push the angle button to view the scene from a different perspective. the feature is sometimes used as a special feature where you can switch back and forth from film to storyboard, but it's pretty rare.

Some movies use it to jump between storyboard and movie scenes. My Clerks TAS DVD does that and I can't get the stupid angle thing in the corner to go away while I'm watching it.

Uh, moving AWAY from the porn discussion...

on FOTR:EE they have a few scenes where you can use the angle button to flip between like 5 or so different camera angles. It's really neat.

It is used for concert DVD's quite abit, too. Metallica, Slipknot, and Mudvayne Concert DVDs have utilized this feature. It's pretty cool...

Wow...I didn't realize that about the FOTR: EE...I'll have to check that out... ;) :)

Mostly for porn. You can watch normal angle and then the unsyched to sound angle, not that I'd know.

The LOTRFOTREE (wow, what an acronym!) thing is on the 3rd disc. There are similiar features on the Star Wars discs, Ghostbusters, and MIB (just to name a few off the top of my head).

Specifically, it's the Council of Elrond editing demo. Really neat feature, too - you can select between six different streams of raw, uncut foootage, or the final cut, or display all 7 of them in panels.

If you chose the option on the discs that says "Play all", you wouldn't have seen it.

I forgot about that. That part's on the 4th disc, I believe. The stuff on the third is a storyboard > animatic > final film thing.
