In the lastest Clone Wars episode, General Grievous has his new "Revenge of the Sith" look that was supposed to be in the "Crystal Crisis on Utapau" arc. There's even less of a reason to not fully animate that arc someday soon. Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Grievous all have their updated looks and the four episodes just need to be fully animated!

If we did it take 2-3 years the crystal crisis might olny take a year and it depends how mutch the others were in production and animation.

Would fill little weird getting new episodes set before SoM after the "Final Season" is over, but I wouldn't mind more Clone Wars.

But perhaps he's referring to some unknown future animated project...

What does the timeline look like now? Like this?

    Bounty Hunters
    Crystal Crisis
    Dark Disciple
    Son of Dathomir
    Dark Disciple II
    Walkabout
    Bad Batch
    Bad Batch II
    Siege of Mandalore

That's about what I've come up with. Although I think we can narrow down the placement of arcs like the Padme/Palpatine one (must happen before Bad Batch) and Return to the Jedi (happens between Walkabout and Siege of Mandalore).

And technically, we don't know where Bounty Hunters takes place, although I think your assumption is a fair one.

I kept Bounty Hunters in production order for simplicity. I assume Bounty Hunters still happens, in some form, before Dark Disciple Part 1.

Idk what to think about all the other Legacy arcs. For instance, wouldn't Return to the Jedi Temple need rewriting now? Anakin's reunion with Ahsoka has been moved to SOM. Padme's arc also confuses me now, bcs the twins. Are they conceived during Dark Disciple?

    I think the order is:

    -Crystal Crisis
    -Bad Batch
    -Ahsoka's Walkabout (Journey)
    -Bounty Hunters
    -Dark Disciple I
    -Bad Batch on Kashyyyk
    -Son of Dathomir
    -R2 and Rex Top Gun
    -Dark Disciple II
    -Return to the Jedi
    -Yuuzhan Vong
    -Return to Mon Cala
    -Siege of Mandalore

There are some inconsistencies, but I'm pretty sure this is how it is supposed to be.
-Padmé and Anakin see each other in person on Coruscant during "Dark Disciple."
-Padmé is pregnant during "Bad Batch."
-Anakin is on Coruscant during "Ahsoka's Walkabout (Journey)."
-Padmé and Anakin were supposed to see each other in person during the "Return to Mon Cala," however I think this was supposed to change since George Lucas didn't like the idea of a pregnant Padmé going in danger.
-Ahsoka either can't appear or see Anakin during "Return to the Jedi" due to his reaction to see her during "Siege of Mandalore."

Yeah, Boba Fett has his green armor and the Slave 1 during "Dark Disciple I," so "Bounty Hunters" definitely takes place before.

In the novel it actually doesn't say what his armor looks like and it isn't clear whether that omission was intentional. It only mentions a helmet, so it could've still been the one he had prior to getting the Mando armor.

This season made a lot of changes, so the most likely order considering that Ahsoka's Walkabout happens after Son of Dathomir and The Bad Batch happens after Ahsoka's Walkabout and trying to keep production order would be:
    • Bounty Hunter
    • Crystal Crisis on Utapau
    • Dark Disciple
    • Son of Dathomir
    • Rex and R2
    • Saving Vos
    • Ahsoka's Walkabout
    • Yuuzhan Vong
    • Return to the Jedi
    • Return to Mon Cala
    • The Bad Batch
    • Kashyyyk
    • Siege of Mandalore
Maybe Kashyyyk can happen before Rex and R2 if Echo isn't with them.

Yes, I did forget about that. Also he has his “Syndicate” now so I assume it takes place after he kills (we still have no confirmation but it’s a fair assumption based on the clip and his lack of other appearances) Cad Bane.

I've got to tell you watching these two videos from youtube and self reflecting a bit made me realize something. Filoni was right in what he said and this season could possibly be the last one. I'll tell you why. After 6 seasons, there were approximately 52 episodes left which is 13 arcs of 4 episodes each.

Okay, lets go down the list. Season 7 consists of three arcs which include two Asohka arcs, and the Bad Batch. Thats minus three arcs and 12 episodes, so that leaves 40 episodes left. So that leaves us with 10 arcs and 40 episodes left of material planned out to finish the clone wars.

Now, if you look at the clone legacy video which I have attached above, you hear Pablo Hidlago and others talk about the importance of releasing the three stories in different formats. Stories that they considered to be very important to the clone war. The first one was the famous Son's of Dathomir arc which was adapted into a 4 issue comic book series by Dark Horse. If you look at the clone wars legacy youtube video, the commentator's appeared to be satisfied with the comic book adaption. So, that is minus one arc and 4 episodes. Bear in mind if this arc would have been animated it would have been an amazing arc. This one dealt with the conclusion to Mother Talzin.

We are now at 36 episodes left and 9 arcs.

The Ventress/Vos arc was an interesting and it compromised two arcs of four episodes each for a total of 8 episodes. In the youtube clone war legacy video, they discussed how the story could be told better in a novel, and that the amount of information they had on script would not have been as great as things told in a novel. Golden was brought in to adapt the eight episode scripts into a novel. The novel wasn't bad, but like the SOD arc we definitely would have liked that animated. Nevertheless, this one ends the Ventress story. So now, we are minus two arcs that consisted of eight total episodes here.

Now we are at 28 episodes and 7 arcs left.

We know that the Return of the Jedi arc which dealt with Asohka's return to the jedi ended up being excised completely due to the story elements ending up in the Tarkin novel and the Star Wars Rebels "World between World arc". The Emperor did not tell anyone of the sith shrine under the Jedi Temple so that nullified the arc.

As a result of this arc that is no longer valid to en extent, that leaves us with 24 episodes and 6 arcs left.

Now we talk about the Crystal Crisis arc and that one was released as an animatic with the complete dialogue. In the clone wars legacy youtube video, they felt it was important to release this even though the animation was not complete due to the story elements involving Anakin dealing with the lose of Asohka and the kyber crystal stuff. This arc because of all the voice acting in there should have been animated and released and in reality, I could see this one being done in the future as a bonus. I say this because I feel that based on that video they really wanted us to have that arc and they went out of there way to make sure that we got it regardless of the complete animation or not.

That brings us down to 20 episodes left and 5 arcs of four episodes each of stories allegedly left.

Now, we got to the magical four episode Bounty Hunter arc. For whatever reason the voice recordings are done, but they don't want to animate this and release it. This arc is suppose to be very interesting and end the Cad Bane arc and basically confirm Boba's ascension as the top dog in bounty hunting. I would love to see this one release and everything indicates that the stories in this arc are top notch.

That brings us down to 16 episodes and 4 arcs of four episodes left in the clone wars stories to tell.

So the ones left are the one arc with the vong which is four episodes so that brings us down to 12 episodes and three arcs left.

Then you have the Rex and R2-D2 arc which is another four episode arc, and it now brings us down to two arcs left. This one is suppose to be the top gun arc of clones and stuff like that.

Then you have the famous Wookie/Yoda arc which is another 4 episode arc. This one is suppose to show the relationship of Yoda and the Wookies along with the Bad Batch and stuff like that. So, now we are minus another 4 episodes and an arc.

The last arc has something to do with Mon Cal and possibly Amidala.

So looking at everything, I can now understand why season 7 is the final season per say. I hope that they decide to release the other content but taking everything into consideration I now can understand why the clone wars are done after the Siege of Mandalore. The most important arcs are done. I don't believe that we are ever going to get the Sons of Dathomir arc animated or the Ventress/Vos arc animated. I believe that those three arcs, 12 episodes were released and there is no intention of getting back to them. Those arcs would look awesome in animation, but for that to happen there would have to be a radical change from the administration on both Disney and Lucasfilm.

I can understand why they chose this route and if everything stands the clone wars will look like this:

The movie which consists of 4 episodes.

7 seasons of the clone wars aired on the Cartoon Network, Netflix's and Disney plus for a total of 133 episodes.

So aired you have the movie and the seven seasons for a total of 137 episodes.

The four episode crystal crisis animatic arc brings it up to 141 episodes visually aired one way or the other.

You have the 8 episodes, two arcs Ventress stuff covered in the novel. This brings things up to 149 episodes covered.

And the final four episode arc Son's f Dathomir is covered in a four issue comic, bringing the total to 153 episodes covered in different medium.

We know Obi-Wan's and Anakin's story so that is not that important in this series. We do get a finality in the Mother Talzin, Rex, and Asohka stuff with Maul ending in Rebels.

So the final question is........If everything is kept the same is the clone wars really done per say?

Looking at the above listed the answer is a resounding ............................................YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They could a special and release either in comic book or novel the Return of the Jedi story as a "Legends" type story if they wanted too, much like the 8 issue original script adaption by dark horse on the star wars. That would be cool if they did that, but different star wars now with Disney. Still, I wont lose hope that one day they'll make this and the other stuff available in one format or another. It's kind of wise to finish everything if possible. In any case, by the end of season 7 we will have a total of 153 episodes told one way or another.

Great list! Completely agree with your observations.

Just to add to the unreleased Bounty Hunter arc, I think the reason why they don't want to release it is because at first they were thinking about making a standalone live action Boba Fett movie and parts of the arc could have been used in the movie, and now they're making The Mandalorian show and again ideas from that arc could be used (and maybe already were) in that show.

And I think they also simply don't want to have two famous bounty hunters in Mandalorian armor out there at the same time, simply not to confuse the general audiences.

Hi guys, I have a question regarding Dark Disciple and Son of Dathomir reading order. Do you guys read it between chapters 21 and 22 or 30 and 31? Thanks in advance!

It´s chronologically correct to read it after Ventress and the Bounty hunter´s failed rescue attempt. Which i believe is between chapter 30 and 31?

    Greetings!

Could anyone provide a link where I could read on the plot for the story arcs that were never finished?
Was there really supposed to be a Yuuzhan Vong arc?
They would have made them canon?

If I am not mistaken after reading a few pages of this thread, and searching on YouTube, it goes somewhat like this (?) :

    • Bounty Hunters - Unfinished (only a 2 minute Cad Bane VS Boba Fett video on YouTube)
    • Crystal Crisis on Utapau - Unfinished (All 4 episodes on YouTube as a story reel)
    • Dark Disciple - Became a novel instead (story reel exists?)
    • Son of Dathomir - Became a comic book instead
    • Rex and R2 - Never started? Nowhere to be found
    • Saving Vos - Is this the Asajj Ventress & Quinlan Vos storyline?
    • Ahsoka's Walkabout -Season 7 middle story arc
    • Yuuzhan Vong - WTH?
    • Return to the Jedi - Unfinished (Ahsoka story arc 2 - timeframe?)
    • Return to Mon Cala - Unfinished (Amidala story arc)
    • The Bad Batch - Season 7 opening arc
    • Kashyyyk - Unfinished (Yoda and Wookies story arc)
    • Siege of Mandalore - Season 7 final arc

    Thank-you kind sir :)

Just finished watching the arc where Ahsoka ends up leaving the Jedi order, my overall favorite and is very emotional throughout. Can't get over the arrogance of the Jedi when they just expect Ahsoka to rejoin after having her rank removed and exiled from the order. Really captures the strong bond between Ahsoka and Anakin though, which I really like.

Have still not watched season 7, can't wait to watch Bad Batch fully animated rather than the story reel :)

I made a massive post outlining each arc and its completion level a short while back, here it is:
In briefer form, my best guesses for the remainder of the 2 and a half seasons go like this:

    Season 6

    The completed 13 episodes
Bane/Boba - Completed Animatics (missing some voice acting)
Crystal Crisis on Utapau - Completed Animatics

    Season 7

The Bad Batch - Completed Animatics
Ahsoka's Walkabout - Completed Animatics (missing some voice acting)
Ventress/Vos Part I - Completed Animatics (possibly no voice acting at all)
Bad Batch on Kashyyyk - Incomplete Animatics (no voice acting)
Son of Dathomir - Asset production, model sheets, detailed concept art

Season 8 (all arcs are only scripts and sketch level concept art)

    Rex/R2
    Ventress/Vos Part II
    Vong
    Sith Shrine
    Mon Cala
    Siege of Mandalore

As for plot details, Watto's spreadsheet linked to in the older post has basic outlines for each story, though more details have come out for many since it was drawn up (like D-squad appearing in the Rex/R2 arc or Bane and Boba going to Kessel).

It would have been really cool to have a Rex/R2 arc where D-Squad appears again. I loved the arc with D-Squad as the focus, was very entertaining. Plus having a homage to Top Gun would be really awesome, the only other episode I remember having any clear inspiration from another story was Nomad Droids, which took bits from Gulliver's Travels and Wizard of Oz.

Episode 1: Boba Fett and Cad Bane teamed up to rescue a child on Tatooine from Tusken Raiders. Boba is wearing his red and grey bounty hunter armor from the episode "Bounty." Bane is also wearing new clothes. Boba Fett was captured so Cad Bane and Todo 360 can use his tracking device to locate the Tusken Raider village. Apparently a member of the Toong species named Lancek Trevoras, was supposed to appear in this episode.

Episode 2: Boba and Bane at some point fly on Bane's new ship, the Justifier. They go to Kessel for some reason (Maybe dealing with spice, slaves, coaxium? This experience on Kessel may be the catalyst that sparks Boba to create an insurrection against Bane because deep down, Boba knows what he is doing is wrong).

Episode 3: Not much is known about this episode (Maybe the start of Boba's insurrection with Seripas, old guy, and Sugi).

Episode 4: At some point near the end of the episode Boba Fett is finally wearing his green Mandalorian armor. Boba confronts Bane saying "No more innocent people are going to die, be locked up, or live in fear!" Apparently Boba is leading an insurrection against Bane, Embo, Highslinger and even his best buddy Bossk! Seripas, some old miner guy, and Sugi seem to be on Boba's side. Seripas and the old guy were held captive by Highslinger, while Embo threw Sugi's knife and EE-3 Carbine rifle on the ground, implying her death, this also hints that the EE-3 may eventually become Boba's as he has it in the Original Trilogy, he may be using it in her honor. Boba and Bane have a western duel, they both get shot with Boba getting his iconic dent in his helmet and Bane possibly dying. (It may be possible that Boba reclaims the Slave 1 from Hondo during this episode or the last as he has it during "Dark Disciple.")

(Looking at concept art, Boba Fett, Cad Bane, Todo 360, Aurra Sing, Bossk, Embo, Highslinger, Latts Razzi, Seripas, and Sugi were all supposed to appear.)

(Aurra Sing could have also possibly died in this arc at some point)

(Bane apparently was training Boba to finally see if Jango was truly better than him as Boba is the perfect clone, Bane and Jango were rivals but Jango died before he could figure out who was better.)

(This arc was inspired by the film "The Searchers.")
