german importers of english books from US and UK reported stopping imports for most products for the time being, and booksellers and intermediaries were informed about this last week. among them those that supply amazon germany.
I know Amazon UK said they were giving priority to necessities in their warehouses. They've stopped third-party sellers from adding new items if they are using the UK site to fulfill orders.
While this book sure is packed with goodies I bet, if anybody could post some of these if in there: - ancient Jedi text pages or anything with inuniverse writing on it - Mortis related stuff - ships from Landos fleet - what is the biggest surprise in this book or news? - abandoned concepts that are a missed opportunity? My copy is still in transit...
That quote from Terrio about not knowing anything about Poe is so ridiculous. Read the damn books and comics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Poe in comics and books was boring and stereotype, no character development. Not much added at all about him! Most we know about him despite books and comics comes from the Visual Dictionaries. Terrio is right that we know not much about him and his past is hardly filled out. Lots of blank spaces for interesting new twists and turns. I am glad he filled in at least some about that the future can flesh out more. One really felt that Poe was originally in TFA slated to be killed off. Not much done with him afterwards at least character evolution style. The most superb character growth he got was in The Last Jedi. And ever since fans mistook him for a major character fans expected more. The ST Big Three are Rey, Finn and Ben. I am tired of pointing that out to people. Poe was a nice tagalong that got great scenes and is a great character, but he outside of TLJ he really was not used well if at all. I am glad Terrio did a great job with IX.
Not to mention Poe character in TROS was definitely built off the events in TLJ Also in terms of the Colin Script I feel like Mortis and Tor Valum could be stuff to use in a sequel to the sequel trilogy, all the need is to just make sure they get a writer who gets the Ethos an Feel of Star Wars that Colin most defiantly doesn't. Also no one brings up the fact that Colin got Balance of the Force so very very wrong...and probably the reason he got fired.
Aw, darn. I was hoping the book’s delay meant the Emperor concept art would be included. It’s not much time in the Publishing world, but still. I wish it were there. If only people didn’t care about spoilers. They only “matter” the first time you watch the film, not all the times after that. (And even then, I don’t believe they really matter.) Oh well. I’m still excited for the book, but rather disappointed about the omission of that art and discussion.
I adore the art books, but I was disappointed that Palpatine, Exegol, Sith Eternal, Galaxy Fleet, etc were left out. I'd love if they did a Skywalker saga art book, covering OT, PT, ST, and EU - and included every drop of spoiler art that exists.
You’re joking? They left all that out, even though the book came out three months after the film has been and gone?
It was a delay in publishing, not a delay so they could re-edit the entire book. The interview with Phil Szostak above already explained it: It's a pretty simple reason. There's no grand conspiracy here or anything. It's purely for security, for preserving the surprise for the audience seeing the movie, because this book went to print six months prior to its original release date in December and if, God forbid, pages leak out or the book gets shipped to bookstores and the bookseller opens the box.... That actually did happen on The Force Awakens. Snoke was revealed a bit early because Snoke appeared in The Art of The Force Awakens. So just avoiding that is purely what it comes down to.

I'd imagine the person who writes it doesn't get to decide when it's released, or what information they can or can't include.
Who said I was blaming the writers? (it's especially nonsensical since Palpatine was revealed in the trailers months before, and in the crawl and the first 5 minutes)
Thing is, it seems like a money-making gimmick these days more than a ligit excuse. They release an art book near or even after the movie release date, missing a significant part of the film, then release another one later on that has more stuff that they can call "complete". The spoiler excuse is silly. The screenshots of Palpatine shooting lightning from his throne at the starfleet were leaked months before TROS came out -- nobody was hiding there was a space battle with Palpatine. We already knew it. They're blaming the Snoke leak in TFA, but seriously, what was "leaked" that gave anything away? We knew there was a "Snoke" and he was a chatty cathy in the trailers. We knew more or less his TFA role without the leaked shot of him on the chair.
Seems the toxic part of the fandom has turned against their lord and savior Dave Filnoi for his comments here.
Although I don't doubt that the "toxic side" had been unhappy about this, I'm puzzled by the equation of Filoni as their "lord and savior". Hasn't the MRA/MAGA faction hated him since Ahsoka became a thing (in other words, since he's been on their radar in any way at all)? I acknowledge that there's a diversity of opinion even within fan factions, but I've certain never thought of the alt-righters as particularly fond of Filoni.
The Fandom Menace praised him as their god when he brought back clone wars, i remember the memes. It seems they angry at him for ruining Luke and having Leia as the jedi master.
Went through this today. Like others, I was disappointed at the lack of Exegol and Palpy information. Maybe they will do a supplement or updated edition at some point?
