My speculation about what Crosshair will be used for now is this:

Remember Dr. Hemlock was told that the way to get Nala Se to cooperate was through essentially kidnapping Omega. Well, guess who Crosshair just happens to be heavily linked to...so that is where I imagine we go now. Crosshair being used by Hemlock to lure the batch, Nala Se probably thinking something similar and a bit of an incoming double cross where I wouldn't be surprised if Omega is captured and we find out what really is so special about her and eventually, Nala Se sacrificing herself to save Omega.

Geez Louise, I was not expecting the episode to hit that hard. We finally, finally see Crosshair show compassion and he winds up on Wayland (?).

I expected that Crosshair would kill the bird at the end of the episode, the fact that he killed Lieutenant was much better.

A great episode, one of the best in this series, also somewhat an upgrade, more dramatic version of "The Honorable Ones" episode of Rebels.

And also I immediately shipped Cross and doctor Karr in the finale, can't help myself.

Oh, I absolutely loved it. Crosshair now seeing the Empire for what it truly is, more clones facing the reality of what they were fighting for. Truly a beautifully emotional episode that peaked with its end and Crosshair doing what he said there was no use in doing. Though, of course, there was always the chance Mayday could be saved. But, the clones of the old Republic are now considered expendable, and that was a great hook for Crosshair to finally snap.

And with him now on Tantiss, that's another piece in place for the finale.

Great episode. Liked the barren ice planet setting. Nice to see growth with Crosshair and going back on his word of "not carrying dead weight". He's had the best episodes so far this season. Favorite part might have been not cutting to the usual theme music over the end credits, instead having that solemn score.

Another notch in the belt for this show is at its best without the full Bad Batch.

Sincere apologies for quoting myself; seems a bit off, but: I rewatched episode 3. It's a very strong #2, but episode 12 is definitely #1.

The moment the that officer spoke I had a feeling a clone would shoot him. I was pretty certain it would be crosshair after the avalanche. Man he deserved it. The funniest thing is the empire probably left him there as well.

    a great episode.

this episode and the Mandalorian this week were much closer, but I am still giving it to the bad batch just barely though.

Like my mind during the whole episode was frag him frag him. Fragging officers is a time honored military tradition. Glad Star Wars could contribute with the ****tiest officer imaginable

This episode convinced me that Cody actually did go AWOL because it showed that the Empire JUST doesn't care about the clones as a whole.

Mayday said that all of their equipment is old and degraded. Even his helmet sounds broken. I'd assume simply to cover cracks and the likes in the armor.

A good episode but has to lose a point for the cliched vulture circling and awaiting the death of not only Mayday but all the Clones.

Well, I am in the minority here, but the hype of this episode left me underwhelmed. It was another episode where characters get stuck somewhere and use the power of friendship to make it through. Mayday seems interesting, but I can't care enough about him since he bit the dust in his introduction episode. The cargo being just stormtrooper equipment was also underwhelming. I was thinking from slaves to parts for the Death Star.

Personally, I never got the love for clones that others do. Idk why, they just are not as interesting to me. I may have more love of them from the CW micro series and the Dark Horse CW comics. Bad Batch I have a hate/love relationship. It can have some high highs and some low lows. But, on the bright side, I am curious to see where all the Mount Tantiss stuff is going. That was way more interesting than anything the Bad Batch has going on.

I feel like issue with full Bad Batch in S2 is that Hunter is basically almost non-existant after 1st 2-3 episodes. Its always from POV of Wrecker, Tech and Omega.
In S1, Hunter had prominent role throughout whole thing which gave it a more consistent feel.

What better way for Crosshair to finally realize the Empire sees him as nothing more than expendable trash is having a mission on a desolated snow capped mountain world. Spending time with another clone and carrying him through the snowstorm so Mayday doesn't become vulture food after implying he wouldn't have done it after seeing the raiders abandoned one of theirs. Unfortunately for him, this realization led to him becoming another guinea pig for the Empire. I hated Lieutenant Nolan and I'm glad Crosshair shot him, good riddance. In short, great setting and score. Hopefully The BB will save him and bring him home.

I absolutely adored the tone in the climactic scene where Crosshair shot the Lieutenant. The scene right before, with the Imperial officer callously dismissing all of Crosshair's concerns and leaving Mayday for dead made him so utterly hateable. However, and this is the part that made it transcendently good, the scene wasn't played as a traditional 'punch the air' moment. Crosshair watching the vulture high above and giving in immediately after suggested to me that he was quite ready to lie down and accept the same fate as Mayday. Shooting the Lieutenant felt less like him achieving any kind of retribution against the Empire, more like 'I'm worthless and basically dead already, might as well take this awful monster down with me'. It wasn't cathartic, it felt utterly hopeless and stark in a way Star Wars doesn't usually aim for. Crosshair lying on the tarmac, waiting for the vultures to pick apart three corpses instead of one, was possibly the bleakest ending to an episode of any SW show so far.

So all in all fantastic, from the atmospheric wind sound effects that never let up, the eerie ambient soundtrack, the ramshackle design of Mayday and co.'s armour, wrapped in cloth to fight the cold and keep themselves in one piece, Crosshair's medical nightmare, reminding me of his inhibitor chip's enhancement back in Season 1.

We never did see under the helmets of the 'raiders' did we? I wondered perhaps if not all of Mayday's troopers died as was claimed, and the 'stolen gear' wearing attackers might just be more similar beneath the masks than anyone was willing to acknowledge. Probably not, but it still adds an even harsher edge to the episode.

I am beyond glad I picked this show back up. I almost threw in the towel 4 or 5 episodes in because of the formulaic nature of the Batch's missions. And while that's still there, there has been some great character development--particularly here with Crosshair in his episodes. Really well done.

Mayday is an instant classic clone, I love how over everything he is. I'd love to see what he was up to during the war.
Nolan has shot up to the top of my most stuck up imperials list, he has so little respect for anyone or anything.
I love the armor designs for mayday and his unit. Looks like they were trying to make their armor as practical for the cold as possible.
The loss of the last of Mayday's crew was incredibly sad and they didn't even have any lines. You could just feel how close they were.
I love how on this planet the enviornment is just as dangerous as the enemy. "Oh I'm confident just not stupid" loved that line.
Crosshair and Mayday taking out those natives so efficiently shows just how wrong the empire is to replace them.
The avalanche, just when you think they're safe, they aren't. Crosshair literally carrying Mayday all the way back just shows how deeply his character has changed. Seeing how deeply the empire doesn't care has just made him snap. Seeing Nolan simply not care and leave Mayday to die on the floor right in front of him...
That was probaly the most satisfying blaster shot in all of star wars, I'm glad to see Crosshair stop following his orders to the letter and stand up for himself.

Overall fantastic and incredibly moving episode which I need to watch again right now.

I almost leaped out of my chair in excitement when I realized this was going to be a Crosshair episode. [:D] It really is amazing the difference in quality between episodes with this show. At its best, like with this episode, this show has some of the best stuff Disney/LFL has done.

I don't think I've ever hated the Empire as much as I did after this episode. I love the TCW clones, so seeing them treated this way is hard to take. Crosshair's character arc so far has been really well handled. I like that they have been taking their sweet time with it because it makes the progression feel more realistic and more earned. Even after the number of times he stubbornly remained loyal to the Empire, I completely bought him shooting Lieutenant Nolan at the end.

Speaking of which... something that confused me is why Commander Mayday was taking orders from Nolan in the first place. Doesn't a commander outrank a lieutenant? Or was Nolan some part of some kind of special force that is outside the usual military hierarchy? :-B

Crosshair waking up at Tantiss makes me wonder how many other "defective" clones ended up there. Maybe that is what happened to Howzer. It also makes me wonder if the season finale will be a jail break episode. [face_thinking]

This has been my favourite episode of season 2, I'm not sure why they stalled Crosshair's character arc but I'm glad it's been restored. There's an old adage that you can't always tell someone a painful truth, they have to see it for themself and that's happened with Crosshair. It was a really 'cheer out loud' moment when he shot that scumbag Lieutenant Nolan.
