Star Wars: The Battle Of Kashyyyk

It was a cold, dark night. Preparing for the onslaught the next morning wasn?t easy to digest. Questions ran through our head. ?Why Kashyyyk? Why target the Wookiees? Why are we here, exactly??
It had only been a few hours when Jedi Masters Yoda, Master Luminara, and Quinlan Vos arrived to aid us in our defense of this dense jungle planet.
Our Commander was Gree. We, as clones, respected him. He had more knowledge of war than what we learned during our growth and training on Kamino. Hell, I?d rather be back on Kamino, firing at HOLOGRAPHIC droids that don?t equip so much pain.

We had clone forces stationed all over the planet. I was stationed to protect the beachhead, the most dangerous post. I knew we would lose men before the day ended tomorrow.
While scouting the planet for any late night droid activity, one of our men spotted a Separatist probe droid, or as we clones called them, probots, was spying out the terrain. The Jedi were a help in the matter. Finally, as I walked out onto the beach, I saw the little piece of scrap spying out our holographic charts and formations. Picking up my DC-15, I blew that kriffer off this planet.

It was nearing dawn, men scrambling all over. General Luminara had the beachhead, positioning her clones all over the beach. The AT-TEs and the Turbo Tank arrived at daybreak, along with more 41st Elites. I was positioned with General Vos in the vast jungle?. I did not like it that much, everyone else being on the beach, getting to fight the clankers head on, while we were just ?reinforcements? if they broke through the outer defenses.
My comlink was jammed all morning. I didn?t know if it was Separatist activity, and if every other soldier had the problem. But I didn?t worry. It wasn?t any good that morning anyway.

We helped the Wookiees set up a wooden barricade. The Wookiees were willing to die for Kashyyyk. Brave creatures. I respected that sort of bravery, and it wasn?t easy to have to turn around and kill ?em all, like some? some mindless battle droid?. Two of the best Wookiee warriors, Chewbacca and Tarful, were up on the veranda with General Yoda, overseeing the battle. It is a shame that Tarful is now a mindless slave for the Empire. At least ol? Chewbacca was freed by that smuggler. But, anyway, that is for another telling.

At about noon is when droid activity finally began to pick up. I was fixing an AT-TE leg with a hydrospanner, when Commander Gree radioed to us that a Separatist ships were entering the Kashyyyk system. I grabbed ammunition, loaded up my DC-15, and prepared for the coming battle.

    The Battle: Beachhead

Blaster fire rang in my ears. It was brutal, harsh. What was good about our HUDs is that we could drown out the sounds of battle around us.
The droids came in, one after the other, dwarf spider droids causing so much ruckus on the beachhead. I was glad to be switched to the beachhead just moments before the brawling began. The Turbo Tank wasn?t functioning at the moment, as a frequency said over our comlinks. I was hoping that the Clone engineers could get the Tank up and running again.

AT-TEs moved out the battlefield, blasting away at armored droid tanks. Within moments, we lost about three walkers. It seems those droid gunships were a bigger pain than we realized. I shot an ascension cable onto one of the gunships? hull, and before I released the cable, I stuck a thermal detonator onto the rope. Pits of scrap poured down on the beach.
I pulled out my DC-15 rifle, and began pouring away blaster fire. I only put three DC-15 clips on my utility belt, so I wasn?t going to last long with my ammo. With the butt of my DC-15, I knock

    Thanks, Gungan!

And that's ok if you can't find the font. I tried getting the font, but can't seem to get it on my computer.

I like how you portrayed the wookiees as warriors. This has been very interesting so far -- you are explaining these events better than the movie did. I hope you continue this.
