Pretty safe to say I'm incredibly happy with the results played out today and yet still expecting the bedding to be covered in Dortmund's own excrement next weekend anyways

strong words from steve nicol on espn tonight about trent getting booed. if madrid played at anfield next year and it happened, that’s one thing. to heckle him while he’s wearing your shirt and just helped you win the league is a bad look.

also a bad look, the forest owner storming the pitch to berate nuno after dropping points against leicester. what the ****.

Typical, losing Yoro to injury days before a Final.
Not having him or de Ligt means more likelihood of having to use Lindelof.

Yeah I wasn’t a fan and I appreciate the similar sentiment coming from Nicol and Carragher. There’s too much siege mentality about what happened today in the fanbase right now - yeah other clubs do it, but we aspire to be better.

I wouldn't generally compare the regular match-going fans to the majority of a fanbase, otherwise it's a bad look for almost every club.

carlo to brazil is official, xabi alonso will be in charge at real madrid before the club world cup. current form withstanding, carlo has unlocked vini in a way that no other manager has, and he'll need to do so at the international level following that godawful copa america that vini (and others) just had.

i don't know if brazil is at the level of a spain or france, but carlo should have them into the later knockout rounds next year. little weak at left and right back - but a solid cb pairing, midfield, and exceptional front three (especially if raphinha continues his current form).

I bet one of his interview questions was something along the lines of "can you help us stop being completely humiliated by Argentina?".

Worth is meaningless if there is no actual money.
Although, this may very well be overplayed by the media

Sounds like Liverpool are in for Frimpong. Odd choice to replace TAA considering he primarily plays as a RWB. Is he really suitable playing as a traditional defender in the PL?
Why not sign someone with more experience playing as a RB?

Frimpong is far more suited to how Amorim & Alonso want to play.

“Why would Liverpool replace Trent Alexander-Arnold with an offensively minded right back?” is certainly a question one can theoretically type I guess.

A wing back is primarily more of a winger than a defender.
Do you think Amad is a right-back?

Surely it makes more sense to bring in someone who can defend better and still attack well. There are plenty of actual RBs in the PL and abroad who can do that, a RWB creates the same problem that Liverpool already had with TAA

England have a problem with TAA in that position. At Liverpool he creates issues but those are what the CDM, the CBs and high line are there to mitigate, and the trade-off is in demonstrable offensive gains. Liverpool also have more defensively minded options for that role already should the match necessitate it.

they just walked the league with a month to spare, what problem do you speak of? it sounds like liverpool made a huge offer to try to keep trent, who obviously fit into slot's flexible tactics well.

i think they'll be fine replacing an attacking fullback with a younger attacking fullback. especially with gravenberch's development this year into a top defensive midfielder who can provide better coverage down the right, as ramza mentioned. frimpong is a weapon, and can be had for very cheap by today's standards. would be foolish not to go get him, as he can also comfortably fill in for salah from time to time to give him some rest.

Any alignment with Manchester Untied’s fiscal policy toward non-playing staff is Tory as ****, Rich. Not a great look.

20 highest wages in the premier league.

city have 9, united have 4 (with rashford), arsenal have 4, liverpool have 2, chelsea have 1.

wasn't aware city put marmoush on insane wages - he's a very good player, but i don't know if his record at frankfurt and wolfsburg justify 300k/week.

And they'll probably still be able to sell him for a great profit despite his wages.

    another disgusting goal from yamal

i thought ballon d'or would be down to dembele and raphinha, but this run of form from both yamal and mbappe may shake things up

Me watching Hansi Flick successfully trounce the rest of La Liga with an aggressively post-Klopp Bundesliga high line:

    What a season, what a season. :p

0.92 - Ruben Amorim has won 24 points in 26 Premier League games, a points per game ratio of 0.92.
This is lower than Paul Jewell's Premier League points per game (0.94), who managed 24 winless games at Derby when they finished on 11 points in 2007-08.

According to OptaJoe. I'll be honest, the maths doesn't stack up for me but either way......... lol

If United don't win the EL, it'll be difficult for him to get these players performing next season with limited money to invest.

He could well be gone by December

Big Ange I think will be gone from Spurs either way

Ange will be gone from Spurs end of season either way.

Amorim will only go IF next season they are still putting in relegation level performances. I suspect he'll get away with a mid table side provided the team looks like its improving which they sort of are showing a little (aside from the abject performances of Hojlund)

According to the Sporting fans and the history of Sporting. Amorim was ok in his first season but he needed to sweep away the deadwood he was then brutal and was prepared to suffer garbage results whilst the team found their feet with the new formation. He then got the right signings in the second season and boom, off they went. United have too many issues for that speed of turn round but he may be a manager you need to hold nerve with.

    easier said than done though
