David Moyes has confirmed he would be interested in taking Joe Cole on a season loan. He'd get regular first team football here at Goodison Park... something he won't get at Chelsea next season.

Hey Macdaddy, Where have you been hiding? I was at your teams ground today (the council house), seeing if they had tickets left for the Iceland game. I didn't bother in the end, but a few of my mates are going.

Check these out. I had my picture took with the FA cup at Old Trafford tonight. My cousin works there, so she managed to sort it for me!

    Thanks, I'll be there.

You know, its weird that I support England. I used to be very anti, but then after my travels I've calmed down a lot and am actually looking forward to England doing well in Portugal.

They looked great last night - everyone was on form. I was especially impressed by the second time they put out in the second half.

Sweden to win! Trust me, I'm Swedish!

Okay, maybe not win the thing, but I feel we will surprise a lot of people.

And Chelsea will win the Premiership next year, no question. I would put a bet on that, but the odds are too low for it to be worth it.

Is there a Euro 2004 thread yet? If there isn't I'll look into a start one, a real quality thread.

Oh, and I hate Babis Stefanidis, gårdar jävel.

    That is all.

No, there isn't a dedicated thread, we'd probably have to get this one locked to get a fresh football thread. It might be a good idea to gather interest in the tournament.

LOL - did anyone just see that Guardian add on TV ? Of the footballers practicing dives ?

I think the best thing to do when Euro 2004 kicks off would be to have this thread temporarily renamed.

My opinion is that it would be best with a freash thread for the Championship. It's a big event and I feel it deserves its own thread. Another football thread won't really hurt anyone and I think it can be good with a place to just discuss Euro 2004, without having to hear the word "Mourinho". This thread can still be used during this month for general football gossip and the likes.

*My POW may be influenced by the fact that I've spent the last half hour designing a Euro 2004 thread.

Oh, right, okay then... it all depends on whether we would be allowed to have two football threads open.

I've just been flicking through The Guardian's Euro 2004 preview mag. They have a comedy type segment on each country entitled 'Put your money on...'. The Portuguese entry is:

Put your money on... 'Tragedy to strike as Cristiano Ronaldo's career is ended after he breaks the world record for consecutive unnecessary stepovers (3,975, beating the previous record of 10) and ties his legs together in a knot which can never be unpicked.'

    [face_laugh] Made me laugh!

I'll take that bet. Chelsea will not win the premiership next year, I'd bet my testicles on that (both of them!). Mourinho is going to get a shock me thinks. The english game is a different kettle of fish, and if he breeds a team of diving showboaters like he did at porto, Arsenal and Man U will rip em to shreads.

Chelsea might be champions in a couple of years (with that much money theirs no reason why they won't), but it ain't gonna happen next season if you ask me.

As for this thread and Euro 2004, I think a temporary name change of this one is in order.

malkieD2, I've seen that advert, so true and funny [face_laugh]

So how about we try and make a dream team before the Euros kick off then. Post your best XI, here's mine:

    Formation: 3-5-2

    GK: Buffon

    LCB: Cambell
    CB: Stam
    RCB: Nesta

    LMF: Vicente
    CM: Gerrard
    CM: Vieira
    RMF: Figo
    OMF: Totti

    CF: Henry
    CF: Morientes
