Hate to burst the X2 bubble, but the movie is highly overratted,..I mean Indeed the character development was almost perfect and stuff like Wolverine going biserker on the soldiers was extremely badass, now if only it didnt jump of the face of the earth within 4 mins, then I would of liked it more than Nightcrawlers excellent opening, which was sadly the best part of the entire movie..which shouldnt of happened.

As for Deathstryke's highly hyped fight,It was hyped up so much that I just expected somthing a bit more spectacular..it was a badly edited, short stabbing affair.

I'm sorry to sound like Im bashing X2, I still like it..but like I said, the fights and action sequences while awesome, were too darn short for my taste.

I do think that the characters were very well developed, and I LOVED the depressing ending, (even though we know what that end meant..) still, I felt for Cyclops, bigtime.

But..I noticed most liked this better than Matrix Reloaded, to which I can't even begin to dissagree with more.

Matrix Provided everything X2 didn't, IMO.

The Matrix Reloaded has MORE soul, and MORE emotion, better and longer action- It does, no argument. Can anything in X2 compare to the freeway chase? I think not. There are so many things about this movie that is just a complete trainwreck of movie magic. Plus the opening wasn't the best part of the movie either now was it?

Someone please tell me why Bruce Almighty is rated above MR in some posts..please..why..(and yeah, I seen it)

    *sigh*

The Matrix Reloaded - 9 (fav movie of the year so far)
X2 - 8 (the filmmakers know it as simply X2, the marketing guys added the United sublet)
    DareDevil - 7.5
Bruce Almighty - 4.5 (eck, funny parts, but woefully sappy at the end)
    Anger Management - don't know
Tears of the Sun - 6.5 (good potential, bad movie)
Finding Nemo - 8 (fun film)
    Hollywood Homicide - don't know
Down With Love - don't know
Shanghai Knights - 7.5 (good fun)
The Italian Job - will not see
2 Fast 2 Furious - 8 (best. guilty. pleasure. ever)
Gods and Generals - 1 (overlong, boring, and screws up history more than Pearl Harbor did)
    Old School - 8
Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyed - 2 (awful)
Bringing Down the House - will not see
Dreamcatcher - 8.5 (best King adaptation in a long while)
Bulletproof Monk - 4 (good comic, bad movie)
    The Core - don't know
Phone Booth - 7 (better than it should have been)
Head of State - 7 (surprisingly funny)
Nation Security - will not see
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days - don't know
The Recruit - 6 (great beginning, bad middle, anticlimactic end)

    You need to add:
Identity - 9 (great, great film)
Narc - 8 (great acting, good plot)

There are other films I've seen this year, but they are lost on me at the moment.

The Matrix Reloaded - eh, 8
    X2: X-Men United - better than the first, 9.5 (and had Beast ;) ).
DareDevil - 1 'cause I can't give it a zero. Maybe it should've been dark like the comics and not have double standards by casting buffed up Jennifer Garner and then Ben Affleck *shudders*
Finding Nemo - 10 , Pixar does well as always
Down With Love - 7 , the beginning was good, can't say much for the ending
The Italian Job - 9 , really good heist movie, very funny on top of that
Dreamcatcher - Although the ending is nothing like the book, it still entertains 8
Bulletproof Monk - Chow Yun-Fat was great! Um, Seann William Scott, though... 6
The Recruit - 8 , the trailer sorta gave ending away.

Bend it Like Beckham - 10 and forgotten on this list.

I hate to say it but this has been my least favorite year for movies in many years. Every movie I've seen was mildly disappointing. X2 I feel was wildly overrated by the filmgeek crowd. Matrix Reloaded wasn't disappointing in the sense that my expectations were very low. Daredevil was easily among the worst superhero films I've ever seen. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Bruce Almighty were let downs too. Bruce Almighty started nicely, but crash landed badly in its final 40 minutes.

Bend it Like Beckham was the only authentically well-made movie I've seen this year although I guess technically it's not a 2003 film. I would definitely not classify it as a great film either. It's just a solid, low budget coming-of-age chick flick.

I'd like to see one really good summer film before it's all over. I haven't seen Italian Job yet so I can't comment on it.

Time to hunker down and wait for "Return of the King."

BobaKoon, don't ever say DareDevil wasn't dark like the comics. That was the whole freakin' point! In most ways, it's a lot more disturbing than the comics. And casting Jennifer Garner ruined the darkness because she's buff? What the heck is THAT? Oh, and by the way, if you think every DD fan across the nation wasn't crying to death when Ben Affleck was cast as DareDevil, you're wrong, but if you think that everyone but you wasn't completely surprised at how he suddenly became good, ad was the Christopher Reeve of DareDevil, than you are sadly mistaken.

You know, I just realized that I forgot to mention The Italian Job on my list. Here's my new and improved list (favorite to least favorite):

    (1) The Matrix Reloaded
    (2) X2: X-Men United
    (3) Bruce Almighty
    (4) Finding Nemo
    (5) Shanghai Knights
    (6) DareDevil
    (7) The Italian Job
    (8) Tears of the Sun
    (9) Anger Management
    (10) Down With Love
    (11) Phone Booth
    (12) Hollywood Homicide
    (13) 2 Fast 2 Furious
    (14) The Core

As I said before, very good year for movies. The only two on the list that I didn't really enjoy terribly much were 2 Fast 2 Furious and The Core. Not bad movies, but that doesn't mean they're good movies either.

And I don't know why everyone is so against Ben Affleck. Believe it or not, he's actually a very good actor. And he was the perfect choice for the role of Daredevil.

I'm going to use the 'Will I buy the DVD' scale. I think 1-10 just isn't right; some movies are good for some people, and not for other people, some have a joke you just LOVE, while another person might not like it. Plus, what makes Matrix better than X2? In my mind, they're too different to rate on the same scale.

    The Matrix Reloaded YES
    X2: X-Men United YES
    DareDevil YES
    Bruce Almighty NO
    Anger Management NO
    Tears of the Sun NO
Finding Nemo Probly, haven't seen yet though
    Hollywood Homicide NO
    Down With Love NO
    Shanghai Knights NO
The Italian Job Crap, no...the original, maybe. I refuse to see this remake.
    2 Fast 2 Furious NO
Gods and Generals Probly not, I'll rent it though, to see what I think of it
    Old School NO
Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd NO
    Bringing Down the House NO
Dreamcatcher Maybe, not sure...good film, though.
    Bulletproof Monk NO
The Core A rental, haven't seen yet.
    Phone Booth NO
    Head of State NO
    Nation Security NO
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days Nope, although it was good
    The Recruit NO
    Hulk YES

I added Hulk to the list, I saw it last night, thought it was very very good.

** = The movies that I have seen this year but they didn't come out this year.

**LOTR: Two Towers: 9/10 - good special effects, thought it was much better than FOTR, and this time I liked the movie NOT just because of Legolas.

**Chicago: 9/10. I didn't think the songs were catchy when i first saw it, but right when I got home I downloaded practically all of them. Very unique movie. I really wanna see the show version now.

Daredevil: 6/10, no wait maybe 5/10. That was a real waste of 2 hours. Although, perhaps I didn't enjoy it all that much because the movie screen was so incredibly dark that it was hard to see what was going on. And I also find it hard to believe at 12 year old kid (or however old he was supposed to be when he went blind) could train himself to fight, when 2 seconds earlier he was cowering in the corner of a hospital room.

Phone Booth: Surprisingly -- the 2nd Colin Farrel movie I have seen, and I was disappointed with both. 5/10.

X2: X-men United: 9/10. Lovely movie :p . Seriously though, great movie. As a huge X-Men fan, I was VERRRRRY happy with it. I think what made me like it more than some ppl is that I stayed spoiler-free completely for it, so I didn't know anything about Lady Deathstrike's hyped up fight scene.

The Matrix Reloaded : I had no expectations for this movie, and I am really glad I didn't bc IMHO, this movie wasn't that great. I'd give it a 6/10. Mostly just because of the kick ass fights, Agent Smith and The Twins.

Down With Love : [face_love] [face_love] [face_love] -- Ewan gives this movie a 10/10 on his own. :D But overall, 9/10. Very nice movie. Very silly.

    Conclusion

Best Movie: X2 (or of the ones from 2002 can count, Two Towers and Chicago were great too.)

Worst Movie: Toss up between Daredevil and Phone Booth. With Matrix Reloaded slowly creeping up there (that movie is lucky it had The Twins to keep me happy, otherwise....)

And soon I shall see "The Hulk," "POTC," and "LXG" :)

The only one of those movies I've seen (or had any interest in seeing) was Finding Nemo. It was cute; I'd give it about a 7. I didn't like it as much as some of Pixar's earlier films, though.

The ones I'm really looking forward to are The Hulk, Pirates of the Caribbean and Return of the King.

About The Matrix: Reloaded being better than X2. X2 was way more enjoyable. It was in the same vein of the first movie but much better. The Matrix: Reloaded while enjoyable, was not at all like the first film. The Matrix was full of underlying philosophy. Reloaded was full of in your face, we-can't-stop-talking-about-it philosophy. Also, there was a lot of humor. There was only one scene in the Matrix that was even somewhat funny.

As I see it. X2 was much better as a sequel in that comparison.

I'll finish this camparison in a little bit.

Roland, I'm surprised at you! How could you not like Tears of the Sun? That was a wonderful movie! I admit, when I first heard about it, I thought "Greeeat, Willis is going to revise his 'Die Hard' role." I don't like Die Hard. It's mindless violence. I'm not some kind of nutty pacifist or anything, I just don't see the point of a movie that is mindless. Blah. You coudln't *force* me to watch Die Hard again.

But Tears of the Sun...THAT was a different story. Sure, Willis got to get all muddy and tote a machine gun, but talk about poingnacy! Talk about courage and honor and all the best concepts of the world! That movie inspired me and has changed my worldview. Definately one of the best movies of 2003.

Wow...that's like the only movie I've seen off that list, though. Well, I'm halfway through The Recruit, if that counts. And again, unless the movie quality plummets in the next hour or so of movie, I'm stunned again that anyone could judge that movie so harshly. Thus far, it is the best CIA movie I've seen. I adore the CIA, and as I am watching the movie, I'm thinking, "Damn, I wish I were him" (Colin Farrell). Mission Impossible 1 ignited my love of espionage, and this movie is worthy of MI1, perhaps even exceeds it. Thank God it's at least *possible* to make a good spy movie, with such crap as Bourne Identity and that one with Gene Hackman around, I was beginning to give up hope.

Reloaded and X2 speak for themselves. Bruce slightly disappointed me. Anger Management wasn't as funny as it could have been, but I'm a sucker for a love story. Old School had me almost in tears, and Recruit, while predictable, was an out and out THRILLER.
