I loved it. It was pretty dark, serious and well done, IMO. There were several lines that really didn't belong there. The CGI, Story and Acting were all pretty well done.

The 4400 and the new battle star gallactica look cool. I remember v being cool and kind of scary. I don't remember much about it since it came on before i was even in kidergarten.

i watched parts of earth above and beyond, sea quest, earth final conflict, andromeda, and tacken

...say hey, that's good to hear about "Battlestar Galactica" finally making it to DVD..

I hadn't seen it yet, either, and had been eagerly awaiting such an announcement (as i'm a huge fan of the original series)..

Not sure that i'm a huge fan of alot of the alterations they made, but if it's got BG in it's title, it's got to be decent, right? (of course, it's just understood that "1980" is precluded from the title)

oops i did mean space. What i saw of it was seemed fairly good, but for what ever reason i just couldn't get into it. Maybe i was just to overloaded with sci-fi.

"Space: Above and Beyond" was KIND of like B5 in the sense that you got more out of it if you watched every single episode..

It wasn't a sure that you could just watch an episode every so often...

It's too bad they cancelled it when they did.. That show was REALLY getting interesting when the Chigs had sent a diplomat to negotiate...

exactly. it was a really great show that also had some realism to it.
unfortunately their budget was too high to maintain :_|

Has anyone seen that series From Earth to the Moon? It's not scifi, for it's about the 1st lunar mission. I've seen previews for it, and it looks outstanding.

The greatest TV show of all time is

    The Prisoner

i don't know if i'd go quite that far, but it's definitely in the highest tier. i've been on a Prisoner kick lately, and i have to say that i'm a bit disappointed to note that it's a bit more uneven in places then i remember it being (e.g. the ending of "The Schizoid Man" is a little off, not in concept, but in execution), but even at its off moments, it's still a shining example of everything TV could be. i live in fear that someone in Hollywood will discover it and try to make a remake, either in TV or movie form.

speaking of adaptations of pre-existing material, a new sci-fi show to keep an eye out for in the future is Global Frequency, which will be based on the excellent comic of the same name by Warren Ellis (Transmetropolitan, The Authority, Planetary, etc). Michelle Forbes (Ensign Ro from TNG, among other roles) is playing Miranda Zero. i'm optimistic.
