In all honesty, I'm giving President's Choice "The Decadent" from Loblaws as my absolute fave. I've adored those since I was a kid.
Being utterly unfamiliar with the terminology at play here, may I ask where honey ginger snaps fall on this spectrum?
@dp4m @Point Given I don't think I have ever asked you about it. Have you ever heard about a bakery called Levain, (should be in 117th/Douglass)? They make these delicious cookies with chocolate and nuts, very nutrient, such that after you eat one you're already full for the afternoon. If you stumble there, you should give it a try.
Oh yeah I've gotten treats from there a bunch of times. There used to be an Ethiopian restaurant that I'd go to a lot close by, and I'd pick up Levain after.
So, I've lived near the original and been partaking of it for... about 26 years (since they've been open). Starting with my mom, until I started getting it myself. I won over @mavjade 's housemates and family with boxes of the cookies. EDIT: We had to find just the right GIF because the above was basically my reaction reading it... and then Mav's reaction making her read it... EDIT2: We should also add that we find it sweet (for real!) that you wanted to make sure we were getting tasty treats.
Used to love my biscuits and other sweet treats back in the UK. With the general horribleness of most biscuits here in Aus, my enthusiasm has waned somewhat; though I did stretch to dark chocolate tim tams when pushed. Then a few months back, something weird happened. I stopped eating them entirely and have never gone back. I no longer have a sweet-craving and don't feel the need for any chocolate either. I never made the conscious decision to give them all up, it just happened. Considering my horrendous bowel issues over the years (sorry for sharing), I can honestly say this has been a very positive move. I no longer lie on the bed or the floor in the foetal position nursing a stomach that feels like it's trying to rip its way out of my body. Considering what we've all gone through over the last year or so, I'll take every positive I can get.
Look guys you really need to know your biscuits. A Scottish friend of mine ended up in hospital , apparently someone had told him that dunking your ginger nuts in hot tea was a great idea. yeah. So - you know , be careful.
Yeah, that's about right. And I agree with you -- Chocolate Chip Walnut is the bee's knees, but all four (CCW, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip, and even Oatmeal Raisin) are really good... For everyone else, this is actual size:
Thanks for making this thread for me to carry over my disdain of Tesco biscuit tins and their diabolical sterile flavoring, Mar. The other thread was not a grand enough platform for this important issue.
I love it, but it's so rich -- I really need to be in the mood and not eating anything for the next 12 hours.
