when he gets off the blue line to transfer, is the red line underground or above the street?

I transfered from the Orange line once and I remember the red line being underground at one point?

A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a Sox fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they were Sox fans too. Not really knowing what a Sox fan was but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands explode into the air like fleshy fireworks.

There is, however, one exception. One girl has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. "Because I'm not a Sox fan."

Then, asks the teacher, what are you?

"Why I'm proud to be a Chicago Cubs fan," boasts the little girl.

The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks the girl why she is a Cubs fan.

"Well, My Dad and Mom are Cubs fans, and I'm a Cubs fan too."

The teacher is now angry. "That's no reason," she says loudly. "What if your Mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron. What would you be then?"

A pause, and a smile. "Then," says the girl, "I'd be a Sox fan."

    Q. How many people does it take to change a light bulb at Wrigley Field?
    A. Three. One to change it and two to talk about how good the old one was.

Albert Einstein arrives at a party and introduces himself to the first person he sees and asks, "What is your IQ?" to which the man answers, "241." "That's wonderful!" says Einstein. "We can talk about the Grand Unification Theory and the mysteries of the universe. We will have so much to discuss!!"
Next, Einstein introduces himself to a woman and asks, "What is your IQ?" to which the woman answers, "144." "That's great!" responds Einstein. "We can discuss politics and current affairs."

Finally, Einstein goes to yet another person and asks, "What is your IQ?" to which the man answers, "51." Einstein immediately responds. "How about those Cubbies?"

Twenty major events that have occurred since the Chicago Cubs last laid claim to a World Series championship:

    1. Radio was invented; Cubs fans got to hear their team loose

    2. TV was invented; Cubs fans got to see their team lose.

    3. Baseball added 14 teams; Cubs fans get to see and hear their team lose to more clubs.

    4. George Burns celebrated his 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 80th, 90th and 100th birthdays.

    5. Haley's comet passed Earth twice.

    6. Harry Caray was born....and died. Incredible, but true.

    7. The NBA, NHL and NFL were formed, and Chicago teams won championships in each league.

    8. Man landed on the moon, as have several home runs given up by Cubs pitchers.

    9. Sixteen US presidents were elected.

    10. There were 11 amendments added to the Constitution.

    11. Prohibition was created and repealed.

    12. The Titanic was built, set sail, sank, was discovered and became the subject of major motion pictures,
the latest giving Cubs fans hope that something that finishes on the bottom can come out on top.

    13. Wrigley Field was built and becomes the oldest park in the National League.

    14. Flag poles were erected on the Wrigley Field roof to hold all of the team's future World Series pennants. Those flag
poles have since rusted and been taken down.

    15. A combination of 40 Summer and Winter Olympics have been held.

    16. Thirteen baseball players have won the Triple Crown; several thanked Cubs pitchers.

    17. Bell-bottoms came in style, went out of style and came back in.

    18. The Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox and the Florida Marlins have all won the World Series.

    19. The Cubs played 14,153 regular-season games; they lost the majority of them.

    20. Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Oklahoma and New Mexico were added to the Union.

Unaware that Indianapolis is on Eastern Standard Time and Chicago on Central Standard Time, D. Envy inquired at the Indianapolis airport about a plane to Chicago.

"The next flight leaves at 1:00 p.m.," a ticket agent said, "and arrives in Chicago at 1:01 p.m."

"Would you repeat that, please?" D. Envy asked.

The agent did so and then inquired, "Do you want a reservation?"

"No," said D. Envy, "But I think I'll hang around and watch that thing take off."

ugh....im finally awake and caught up on the reading.

the trip was great, Uncle Space is the coolest dude there is, despite his insistance on calling carbonated beverages "pop". :p

if anyone says otherwise, i'll sick the Hammer on them. Mikey may be short, but he has that Wolvey thing going for him, so i could arange a fast-ball special for all who oppose the BYS ;)

i was already half way across Penn when i remembered i had Herb's money, but he should get it in the mail shortly. :)

that darn time zone thing is really gonna screw me up. I will be living in the corner of Indiana that is n Central time to stay in line with Chicago. I will be especially screwed up when I have to schedule deliveries for my company to South Bend and other towns on Eastern time. That doesn't even cover Indiana's whole issue with daylight saving time. Much confusion I have on that already.

that would be a cool plane to watch take off.

Famous lines.....the check is in the mail

When I make the drive from Texas to Indiana this weekend, I need to stop for the night somewhere around Memphis. Can anyone suggest a town in the area to stay? I really want to avoid the city of Memphis at all costs.

Envy, I once stayed in the Memphis Peabody for a week and found it to be first class. It's probably more than you want for an overnighter, but its definitely one of the finest hotels I've ever been in.

    Beale Street wasn't bad either.

ONLY FIVE AND A HALF HOURS LEFT -- EST!

    A haiku:

    Many time zones there are.
Of all of them, I prefer Now.
    Now is the best time.
