    Um...

I think 'greatness' has been referred to Jedi before. You can be great at what yo do. Even something faith-based. It's just that things like wars, or being a great warrior, do not make one a great Jedi.

And why would Luke want to train only average Jedi? If you give up Mando, I will teach you to be a lower than average Jedi. What'da say?

Yoda would never say I'll make you a "great Jedi", and in fact the issue about greatness was touched in ESB when Luke was looking for a great warrior.
Becoming a Jedi is about giving up your ambitions. You don't want to become a great Jedi because you're above the desire for greatness.

Yoda's issue wasn't with the word 'great', it was with the concept of 'great warrior'.
I really don't see a problem with someone wanting to be a great Jedi. A great Jedi would be a Jedi who does great deeds that help many people.

This is literally the dumbest complaint of this show I’ve read so far. And that’s saying something.

I don't think Yoda says anything about giving up your ambitions. Otherwise, how would anyone want to become a Jedi. That's an ambition.

The movies tell us that being a Jedi is hard. It's a life long commitment and you'll have to give up certain things. What Yoda says, is that wars make one not great. Which implies there are things that make one great. Seeking adventure and excitement. Being a warrior. Constantly looking to the horizon. Craving these things doesn't lead to being a great Jedi.

I really think you're nitpicking a word here. You can be great at what you do, and desire to be great.

Is there a particular reason you're trying so, so hard to find things to complain about? I mean, this complaint literally makes no sense.

Now Han's all free of the carbonite, what's hanging on Boba's empty wall?

I'm excited for the last episode. Can't come round quick enough. :)

Just stating my opinion that I think it’s dumb isn’t stopping anyone else from replying. ;)

Yet, once again, like before, you spend your time over something just to point out that it's not worth your time.

They would want to become a Jedi out of altruistic desire. The perspective of becoming great shouldn't be of any appeal.

I never said it wasn’t worth my time. I said it was stupid. You seem to think a lot of things about this show are stupid yet you still take the time to discuss them.

That's still an ambition. And maybe that's exactly what a great Jedi is. Luke could be referring to exactly that.

The difference is that I'm not a movie, I'm a member of the forum, and while trashing movies is ok, trashing members of the forum is not.

I’m not trashing you. I don’t know you. I’m trashing your opinion that there’s some problem with Luke saying Grogu can be a great Jedi.

So I’ve thought about this episode, and I think I like it even less.

Isn’t it hypocritical for Luke to tell Grogu he can’t have attachments when Luke is close with his sister? I thought Jedi weren’t supposed to have contact with their families. Why is Luke suddenly concerned with Jedi dogma about emotional attachment? This is the same guy that tried to save his father when two Jedi masters told him to forget it. I wonder if this means that Luke told Leia and Han they wouldn’t be able to see Ben anymore. Man, CGI Luke is a jerk.

Yeah, I have to admit the way Luke is portrayed in this episode makes little sense. After all he went through in the OT his still holding on to the goofy Jedi dogma of no attachments? Makes no sense to me at all.
