no 3AM Star Wars drop this week, booo, don't know what to do with myself.

My 2.5 month old baby just started sleeping through the night this week. Sooo...I'm glad BOBF ended when it did, and now I can actually sleep and not have to get up at 1am, 3am, 5am, 7am. On a related note, he seemed to enjoy Baby Yoda. lol.

 

Oh the SW wonders your baby has yet to share with you!

They'll have a nice back catalogue and you can watch everything again in order!

 

Nah my bedtime is like 4:30 AM, the 3AM drops are pretty great for me. So I watched a bit of Kingsman: The golden Circle then went to bed. prep for the 3 AM drop on Friday for the newest film The Kings Man on disney Plus!

But yah there really isn't anything new on D+ until March 30th Moon Knight, but then it starts up again at 3M drops from Moon Knight to Kenobi.

 

3 million drops? Those shows will give new meaning to the word "epic"!

and why the heck would anyone watch the PT in between ESB and ROTJ?

 

A New Pope.

 

77 is the original movie.
The reason for PT after ESB is so you get to the plot twist of ESB, then you get the explanation of the twist with the PT, then you go back to the OT for the big finale.

 

that sounds awful, I would never watch them that way

though I admit I’m pretty biased against the PT in general

also I’ve never seen ANH referred to as 77?

 

I mean if watching PT is not a pleasure to you in general then there is no order that will change that.

 

I mean I watch them occasionally, there’s a few things I like about them

but no I would never interrupt the OT to put on one of the PT films

 

I actually totally go with that order too, although I'm a little weirder that I will start at Rogue One, ANH, ESB, PT, ROTJ, TFA, watch Solo in between TFA and TLJ and TROS. It sort of lets the TFA cliffhanger breathe and sort of a memorial for Han and also Solo is very dice-centric which is a big payoff in TLJ (even the last shot of Solo is the dice)

 

This is a brilliant idea, the emotions of seeing young Han hit stronger after his death.

 

It’s the flashback order. If you really want to get exact about it, you watch TESB and then ROTJ, but at the end of the scene where Luke and Force ghost Obi-Wan talk on Dagobah, you then stop ROTJ. Then you watch the entire PT as a flashback to show what Obi-Wan is talking about. Then you return to the end of that scene in ROTJ and continue from there. I think this order also spoils the fewest surprises / revelations / twists of any of the options… but it is also crazy to actually do.

 

While watching A New Hope, pause it after Obi-Wan mentions The Clone Wars..... then watch The Clone Wars as a flashback to what Obi-Wan is talking about. Then return to A New Hope to hear what else Obi-Wan has to say.

 

Im a fan of viewing 4,5,1,2,3,6. I liked how Han’s fate is left up in the air for the prequels. How different Vader is perceived at the start of Jedi. That the Emperor is established. We understand exactly what the stakes and perils are for Luke after Anakin’s fall. I like how Jabba’s palace is both a reunion with the OT characters and a conclusion to their story before Endor deals with the larger Saga.

after the sequels I like 4,5,6,1,2,3,7,8,9 and 1,2,3, Solo, R1, 4,5,6,7,8,9. I’ll need to watch Mando next time after 6. It’s a bit jarring going from 6 to 7 when everything has turned rotten for our heroes.

Solo, R1, & 4 make a great trilogy. I also really love how the mission everyone dies on in R1 is essentially the same mission Luke, Han, and Leia go on to Endor in 6. It makes it all much more dangerous.
