Dude, she was acquitted of almost all charges. In essence, justice was served.

She'd probably be more safe, having to serve another year and let the trail fade away a bit in some people's minds. She probably has every reason to fear for her safety, looking at all the public outcry towards her.

I appreciate the fact that a little girl was murdered and the killer has so far eluded justice. But I wish more people expressed half as much outrage over the average 9-10 yrs lost by innocent people imprisoned on death row, not to mention the unnumbered people who can't afford a good lawyer and end up imprisoned for crimes they did not commit.

Not sure if serious but, as stated here and elsewhere, not guilty =/= innocent. As far as I'm concerned, justice HAS NOT been served.

Maybe you're curious as to why my dander is up about this case. I guess it's quite simple to explain: My wife and I would like nothing more than to have a child of our own. But we can't. Maybe not now, maybe not ever, and where we live adopting is an expensive and quite uphill battle. Yet we often see how little idiots like this...woman...murder their children when they become an inconvenience to their little idiot immature lifestyles, when they're so damn high they don't realize they've murder their child or when they are simply criminally irresponsable. So yeah, I hold she and any other person like her with the utmost contempt. A rain of fire and brimstone on her selfish, evil head isn't even an adequate punishment here.

Only God can judge her now, that should be enough for you.

    Everyone make mistakes dude.
Look at Michael Vick. Everyone was hating on him. EVERYONE! *raises hand* Yeah, me too. No ****.
Anyway...Look at him now. NFL comeback player of the year. New endorsement deal with Nike for four years. Awesome!
What I'm trying to say is give her a second chance. A year from now I bet she should get an endorsement deal with Nyquil.

No justice wasn't served, but that doesn't mean it would have if she was found guilty. Sometimes justice isn't served, and we've decided that rather than risk punishing innocent people, we sometimes let the guilty not be punished. The trial wasn't to determine if she was proven innocent, they didn't need to prove that. They failed to prove her guilty. That doesn't mean we know she wasn't guilty, only that the court failed to prove she was.

I think it is hilarious that this is what excites people who get bored to tears about all the real problems this country faces.

If I still believed he was up there, maybe it would be enough. But who knows, maybe He can still surprise me.

Did we really have to throw race into this? wtf

She will spend 6 days in jail, which is amusing(not considering time served) since the dude who flipped off the prosecution got that too.

If she can't get a book deal because she is such pariah, me thinks porn is in her future. She already has an offer from Vivid Video.

She's already crazy, but I think it would be quite satisfying if she goes totally off the deep end, ala MacBeth, and starts being haunted by the vengeful spirit of her daughter.

It is kind of messed up. Something horrible happened to that little girl and only Casey knows what that is.

When I first made this thread I felt and still DO feel that the state did not have enough for a first degree murder charge with the weight of a death penalty behind it.

Come this past Tuesday when the verdicts were read I saw she got acquitted on that charge. When the next 2 came down on Manslaughter and Child Abuse I was FLOORED!

So then I start looking deeper into the entire thing. Unfortunately, with the instructions given in a case like this, our written law IS the law. The jury did what it was instructed to do and came up with this. Only true course of action.

From some accounts they (the jury) did not like it. It was what was.

More disturbing is the intense hatred from the public. Emotions are running high, they want her head on a spike! There will be no freedom for this woman.

We down here in FL have been seeing this entire circus for the past 3 years!

So OK Casey, get out of jail Sunday evening the 17th. Get dolled up and go to a downtown Orlando club. ...Let everyone know how that goes for you.

This chick needs a fueled plane on the runway waiting to take her to parts unknown the SECOND she gets released!

There's a petition going around to enact "Caylee's Law," which will make it a felony to not report a missing child for a month. It will also forbid profiting off a child's death in any way.

    Link

    Yes, this should be...interesting.
