No he had direct contact with him in ROTS on Mustafar.

    ha ha ha whoops. [face_blush]

Just watching it for the 2nd time, another OT reference: Threepio's "We're doomed".

EDIT: Okay, the droids were pretty funny when Anakin and Obi-Wan boarded the ship and they're all like "oh no" [face_worried]

Yeah, it was weird seeing Obi-Wan trying to rescue 3PO...you don't see much interaction between the two so you don't expect it...and the droids trying to follow Obi-Wan and Grievous was funny too.

My favorite droid gag was when Obi-Wan and Greivous made those leaps onto the railjets and two droids don't make it and fall into the chasm and one lands on a bridge but get's smashed by a train! I think they did a good job of combining the unstoppable Greivous from Genndy's version with the Greivous of Episode III.

The whole railjet area was cool and logical because it is a huge ship and they need to get from one side to the other fast.

The "adventure and excitement" quote was also a non-romantic reasoning for the Jedi why Anakin would take a risk rescue Padme. The Anakin and Padme stuff was great just because they weren't being all romantic.

"Stop talking." I bet some people wish she said that in Episode II!

    From the EPISODE GUIDE:

Of the three Republic warships pursuing the Malevolence, the lead ship is General Skywalker's Resolute. As a flagship, it has red conning towers.

In the script, Anakin's original plan to board the Malevolence included a foolhardy hyperspace micro-jump that would have deposited the Twilight just centimeters away from the enemy ship's hull.

The final frame of the heroes is the first time all these prequel characters have ever been thus depictied; the final frame from Episode I did not have C-3PO while Episode II and III had them scattered across different planets.

Maybe now people will stop calling Grievous a coward since Obi-Wan now runs away from a fight as well.

I liked the episode, but I think the previous one is my favorite overall so far. One of the things I liked most about this episode, which I don't think anyone has mentioned yet, was they explained why Padme has a different ship in ROTS, because her current one was self destructed in this episode. Speaking of Padme, I have not really liked any of her scenes in either this episode or the movie, something about her doesn't seem right. I'm glad that next week's episode appears to have no major characters in it, just clones and droids.

Really enjoyed this episode. The Anakin/Padme interaction was much better then the movies I thought. And Artoo and Obi-Wan were great as always. I think they did overdo the battle droid humor just a bit though. Nice to see Luminara even if she was in hologram. When's her episode?

Another fantastic episode! Man they stuff they've been giving us so far has been great. A lot of unexpected things in this episode. My favorite moment was when Grievous says "Hello there!" to Obi-Wan. So when you watch ROTS you'll say "Haha, Obi-Wan's being a smart-ass back to Grievous!" Some good action in this one and I thought Padme was well-done as a character. Still don't mind the droid humor, some of it is actually really funny. I'm ready for Rookies next week. No he had direct contact with him in ROTS on Mustafar.

But that would be after this, chronologically. At least, I thought he meant it in a chronological sense. Obi-Wan doesn't meet 3PO in TPM, AotC (at least that is shown) or any of the books I can think of... though I won't guarantee that I'm not forgetting something.

I originally meant chronologically, but then I was thinking about ROTS and couldn't remember if Kenobi meets Threepio. How disappointing of me. [face_shame_on_you]

Another solid episode. Maybe I was just in a goofy mood, but I found myself laughing at a lot of the droid slapstick. And the "spinning is a good trick" line was pretty funny.

I do agree with whoever complained about the lack of CIS victories, though. While it's true that the Malevolence destroyed a good number of warships, the fact is that Grevious has looked utterly incompetent at the end of each and every episode. He looked incompetent when Anakin escaped in part 1, he looked incompetent when the ion cannon was destroyed in part 2, and now he looks extremely incompetent when two jedi just walk right into the ship and blow it up.

I know it's a kid's show, and they don't want to make it too dark, but I'd love to see a few victories here and there for the CIS. I fear that it will get repetitive if every week we get a "don't fail me this time, Grevious!" scene from Dooku, followed by Grevious failing miserably. If Grevious fails every chance he gets, why would Dooku keep him around? Same goes for Ventress. Let's see them get a few wins under their belt.

I hope they have more multi-episode story arcs in the future. Malevolence was really good. I love the clone troopers, so I am really pumped for next week's all-clones episode.

I don't recall a scene of them interacting in Genndy's CW either. But I have to assume Obi at least knew of Threepio, being Anakin's creation and property. Seems like something that would have at least been referred to in conversation. Like me finding my original Kenner Rebel Transport last night and telling my SW buddies about it!

I took Padme's less active, more damsel-esque roll in RotJ to be partially due to her pregnancy. She takes it easy a bit in the film, as she's with child and doesn't want to risk anything.

That and she's not in many situations where she can be action girl.

Good call. They don't realize he's running headlong in to save Padme because that's his wife. So, in their minds, although yes he's doing a good deed by trying to save a senator whom he also is clearly friends with, his impetuousness in going about it might be interpreted by them to be a craving for the adventure and excitement.

Even knowing that he and Padme are married, his lack of a well thought-out plan could be construed as an example of the adventure and excitement seeking side of him.

Hmm, I was watching the part where Anakin was reprogramming the navicomputer, and I was really thinking that the Malevolence would be paying a visit to the Nebray Mantas in the nebula =D

Padme had a good line to Anakin when she said that ever since she's known him, he's been playing with droids.

The Malevolence managed to destroy *dozens* of Republic warships, including Plo-Koon's force, and even in Shadow, the Malevolence destroyed a number of transports attempting to escape from the medical station, presumibly filled with wounded Clones.
While the Malevolence was destroyed, it managed to still do a heck of a lot of damage.

I'm curious as to why GG didn't have Magna Guards on board the Malevolence? He may have, but I'm just thinking he'd always have them by his side.

Another solid episode. Not as good as last week, but pretty good. The Padme link wasnt as lame as I thought it would be. It is so cool having one of these every week. This is the sort of thing I would have killer for when I was a child. Weekly Star Wars!!!
Oh and Rookies next week looks awesome.

I'm not sure we can call that a refernece os much as a catchphrase ;)

Well, some of them aren't subtle- "adventure and excitement", for example. If a line qualifies to be the major SW reference in a Kevin Smith movie, I think enough people will be able to spot it ;)

I actually didn't even catch the referance. I still don't even remember the line. Then again, none of these 'referance lines' have bothered me in the slightest.

Anyways, this was an awesome episode. Grievous was a lot cooler than he was in the past two. That shot of him bullrushing towards Kenobi on the train was sweet.

So, have any of you here seen the clips on YouTube that show dialogue changes between the SD and HD versions of this episode?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AsZzN1IDpQ

Dealing with the "adventure and excitement" line

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdvxXyZ-_Ow

That line, and a different line/edit of the moment when Padme jumps to Anakin.

    Curious, eh?
