If they did swear, it would probably be "kark", and that does nothing for me. On the other hand, if a clone suddenly yelled "****!!!", I would love it.

Yeah, Han was the big curser in the original trilogy. Calling Obi-Wan a "damn fool" and yelling at Princess Leia "What the hell are you doing?!"

Well, first of all, I only heard one clone say "hell" in the episode, and it wasn't Rex. Second of all, what's wrong with saying "heck?" Besides, that doesn't automatically mean Cody doesn't ever curse.

Nothing wrong with "heck". It's just funny to see Cody, the "by the book" clone, be the one to say heck instead of hell.

And yes, I will give props to the voiceover guy who does the clones. Excellent job! Each clone was its own character.

What was with the one clone's Scottish accent?

Cutup had what sounded like a Scottish accent to me.

The only thing I remember Cutup saying was "AAAAAUUUUUUAAAHHHHHHHH!" ;-)

It might be old news, but it's the first I've heard about it.

I noticed that Rex has a musical theme or motif or whatever. You hear it in the movie when him, his troops, and Anakin jump down in the opening battle (and other times, but I don't remember them)...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4CW7OXKEMU

    ^ At about 1:20

Anyway, you hear it a lot in this episode, most notably when Rex introduces himself to the survivors and when the clones storm the base ("Roger roger ").

    *edit*

Also, you hear it at the very end when Rex mentions the 501st, so maybe it's not his theme, but the 501st in general.

Kind of like how Darth Vader and the Empire both use the Imperial March.

I have totally been lovin' this new Clone Wars series!! Sucks that we gotta wait 2 weeks to see another. The battle driods are a bit annoying at times but over all very cool stuff. Last nights episode was the best so far. I just created a great PC menued DVD of all 5 episodes and gave it to my son and been watching it over and over lol. I can't wait to see more!

I honestly dislike the series. Everything is goofy and the war turns into a big joke.

Well, actually with the execption of the battle scenes themselves everything so far shown so far even in the prequel films is kinda jokey. The visuals of everything have been awesome but all of the new Star Wars stuff lacks the seriousness of the original trilogy. That being said, I still like it all. (although in my opinion, Anikin did fall to the darkside in Ep.3 way to quickly and destroy everything and everyone he cared for for nothing really, there wasn't yet even a problem with Padme yet. He did it over a dream??? You'd think if all he really cared about was her he would just have taken her far away to a medical facility and had her under constant watch. I'm sure they had c-section in the Star Wars universe LOL. I think it would have been better if the Jedi order learned of their marrage and expeled him making him angry, Palpatine then sent him to destroy the sepratists leaders the telling him he'd be the hero and the Jedi would have to recognize him, Padme not knowning where he was had a nervious breakdown or then somehow fell into a coma without it being directly Anikin's fault and then Palpatine saying he could save her would have made much more sense but I guess thats a topic for another thread and pretty much pointless to discuss at this point lol.)

I should also mention that the animation was just incredible in many of the scenes. Seems like it's getting smoother all the time....either that, or I'm getting used to it. ;)

I'm not even a big fan of the clones, but I may have to say this was the most solid episode so far. The dialogue overall was good and I really liked the whole darker tone of the episode. The beginning where they're all sitting around bored is great too. I especially liked the arm wrestling, haha. And droids that were actual threats! That's a refreshing change! And, like others have said, the whole scene with Grievous and Ventress was awesome. I was like LOL WUT when she called him "My Lord".

Yea, Ventress looked cool in the dark hooded cloak! I wish they would do a show like this with episodes that fall between random Star Wars movies. Like this week you'd see one from between Ep.2 & 3, next week you'd see one from between 4 & 5 and do it totally at random. It would be awesome to see a young Luke racing T-16 Skyhoppers with Obi Wan looking on from a distance or the Rebel alliance setting up base on Hoth... man that would be kick ass! And keep a tight lid on where next weeks episode would fall. We can only hope.

The "Mmm-hmm-mmm-hmm" right after the droid commando leader says "they must be pulverized" was a magnificent little touch. In fact, this episode is full of really nice little details, like Cody's helmet seal popping when the clones retake the station, the consular ship in the fleet at the end, and the magnetic medals, and such things as the Twi'lek pinups.

No, he did it over many dreams. Obi-Wan mentions his not-sleeping in this episode (105). He avoided sleep in AotC because of dreams of his mother that had been going on for an undiclosed period of time, and shortly after that, he's still (or again) not sleeping. It's more than likely that the nightmares about Padmé are starting to kick in, even though he makes the excuse about Grievous (like, what's he going to say?).

    [/2c] :)

hahaha, I was re-watching this and I just realized the music the clones are listening to in the beginning is a reworking of The Message by Grandmaster Flash. That rules.

"Hell" is not a swear word, it's a mythological place ;) You can get away with "hell" on any show. The Simpsons has a word that rhymes with witch on multiple episodes even, it's not a big deal. On network TV the only words you can't say are the F word and the S word. You can get away with anything else, even something that sounds like apple when you hold your tongue ;)

Hey, that was Grandmaster Flash! Good job.

Just caught the CT-327 reference (to docking bay 327 in ANH).

EDIT: How exactly was Ventress spying on Kamino? She'd be like Public Enemy #3 (Dooku, Grievous, her).

But this is the use of "Hell" in a kids' cartoon show. That's significant.

They did have the pinup girls on the wall.

Maybe more by the book...like Kenobi. (Although Kenobi did use the D word in ANH)

Not a bad plot idea. But Lucas clearly wanted to go with a more classic and mythological storyline...you know...the whole self fulfilling prophecy / fate kind of thing.

I love the Clone Wars series. But a huge anthology show like you describe would indeed be great...at least for us fans. Not sure if non-fans would tune in week after week.

That's just how Anakin talks. I mean, yes at times it can be a bit wooden or odd. But that's a purposeful choice by the actors...not a mistake on their part. That's just how the guy talks.
