Only with a vocal minority ;)

We probably won't see Bacara until Ki-Adi shows up. Appo could show up under Rex if we see more of the 501st, but he might still be training under Alpha at this point.

I also imagine Neyo will appear with Stass Ali. I like to see the ROTS pairing, personally, but I doubt if she ever appears on the show.

Speaking of Ki and Bacara, it is still really surprising Ki hasn't been on the show yet. After Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Mace he was easily the most prominent Council member of the films. It is nice to see more of the unexplored characters, though.

    Wouldn't Appo be Rex's superior? A Commander outranks a Captain last time I checked.:p

Well, since this is apparently early-war, and we've only really seen Appo late-war, Appo could be a lower rank at this point in time.

Well, he was supposed to be Alpha until Lucas wanted a name that didn't start with A- thus why Rex looks mostly like Alpha, is attached to Anakin and Obi-Wan and is a general super-badass.

But, i think it was Dave, who said that since Rex is a different character than Alpha now, we might seen the "real" Alpha at some point in the series. Going by EU lore, at some point Alpha was training new Clone Commanders on Kamino, etc- and Appo was one of the ones he trained.

And it was GL who threw out the name "Rex", right? And probably also named the "other" Captain Rex from Star Tours? I'm kinda wondering if there might be an "Indiana"-type origin behind this. It's a pretty doggy name.

Wow, this week's webcomic is leaps and bounds better than any other before it! Not only is it beautifully drawn, but it's very well written, full of personality and wonderful details, and sets up the mood for the episode perfectly. Color me impressed. I specially liked the detail of the clone's penpal having died on Christophsis, it adds a lot of weight to the war. Kinda makes you sad to think back at those cool clone deaths in the CW film.

"The Thing" is one of the very few movies that are scary even after multiple viewings.

I remember The Thing was mentioned somewhere in this thread. I think he just forgot to quote the original post.

New Article on Trespass - warning: contains minor spoilers about Trespass:

    Chairman Cho

    <img src="http://starwars.com/img/theclonewars/news/20090129/george_sm.jpg">

Chairman Cho: A Very Bad Man

In the latest episode of Clone Wars airing this Friday, "Trespass", character actor Brian George plays Chairman Chi Cho, a greedy representative of the Pantoran people interested in staking claim on an inhabited ice planet.

George is a veteran of numerous television roles, and had previously lent his voice to The Clone Wars as the Toydarian monarch, King Katuunko. We asked George about his role as Chairman Cho, and of his most recognizable screen persona, Babu from classic episodes of Seinfeld:

How did you get involved with the Clone Wars project?

Very prosaically, I'm afraid. I read for the part at my agent's office. We were asked to listen to a demo recording of Chairman Cho done by someone who works at Lucasfilm -- a gentleman with a flat sounding voice and, what sounded to me like, a mild South African accent. I guess they liked something in the quality of his read and asked the actors auditioning for the role to see if they could incorporate it into their own interpretations. Since the character of Cho is a bit of a horror show, it wasn't too hard to draw, from recent history, on some of the uglier voices of the South African apartheid era and infuse him with the venom and hatred that we used to hear on the news every night.

Can you describe your experience working on "Trespass"?

An absolute pleasure. There's always something intoxicating and joyful about being in a roomful of talented people, no matter what the talent. This just happens to be a roomful of bright, funny and creative writers and actors. You laugh an awful lot. And yet work gets done.

Many fans might recognize you from your role on Seinfeld as Babu. Do you still get recognized on the street for this role?

Pretty much every day. What none of us who guested on the show fully realized -- until we saw the amazing amount of hoopla surrounding the final episode -- was that we hadn't just been part of an amazingly successful show, but of a cultural phenomenon. We were a part of the zeitgeist! And that's nothing to sneeze at.

Are their any historical figures you can liken Chairman Cho to? Any historical events you feel are similar to those that unfold in "Trespass"?

Not really one person, but there are any number of recent events that inform the episode. The ethnic cleansing that went on in the former Yugoslavia. The Rwandan genocide. Darfur. Unfortunately, the list goes on and on. Cho is one of those bullies that lead by inciting blood-lust and hatred of 'the outsider' rather than by any positive visionary message. There always seems to be a Cho lurking about, ready to bloody the water.

Was there ever a chance to redeem Cho?

I like that he doesn't learn anything! Not everyone does. We're so used to seeing characters, on TV especially, having some kind of epiphany. Some people are just blind, though, and never see anything but their own 'truth'.

It appears Jeff Carlisle did the art this week :)
(aka the artist who drew Deign Lian)
There's a snow Grievous in the comic. The clones must particularly dislike him, because the snow Grievous had the most holes in it. Is the heat from a blaster localized? I'd expect a snow sculpture to be pulverised with that many shots into it.

That comic rocks! Best one so far!

Can Carlisle do the art from now on, PLEASE? This actually looks like a comic version of the animation, and captures the epic cinematic Star Wars feel that is missing from most Dark Horse crap. Plus, the story is pleasantly morbid.

Definitely the best webcomic by far. The art is just so important to the overall presentation....I think Pablo's writing has been fine.

D'aw, but I liked the art from last week. There's not enough cute interpretations of Jedi in canon.

Kate Cook also made that puppy-eyed drawing of Grievous that I really liked, eh. Bear in mind that comics normally take a lot of time and effort to draw/ink/colour (even more if they're like this week's).

Come to think of it, it does vaguely remind me of the Zulu.

I really enjoyed this episode, despite Cho being a complete and utter moron. Anyone know how they fit the Talz in? A (perhaps long-lost) colony world from the homeworld of Alzoc III, maybe? They can't be completely unknown - theres the Jedi Talz in the earlier CW cartoons, plus Threepio clearly knows the language.
