I don't think this is a 5-parter. I think the first part of this 4-parts story arc was actually Senate Spy, which introduced the secret geonosis factory plot, which will then be tackled directly in Landing at Point Rain, Arms Factory and Attack on Point Rain.

But read the official OS article. It literally says: Landing at Point Rain is the first of a four-part arc.

A 5 part story arc=110 minutes, now we are talking. This will hopefully feel like a movie when combined. It will probably be a huge leap in animation quality between part 1 and 5 though, going by the production process in season 1, they probably worked on this multipart story throughout the s2 production.

I think the Obi-Wan vs. Grievous fight happens in the Mandalorian episodes(witch I think will be the last episodes we see before Christmas).

Although I think one of the episodes will not be taking place on Geonosis. Obi-Wan and Anakin will afterwards go to the forested droid commando planet near Geonosis and obi-wan will fight Grievous there.

I've got a link to a very interesting reading:

    You should listen to this.

Oh, you're right. I ignored that they said this was the FIRST chapter in the 4-part story arc. So, really, WOW! A 4-parter with an added introductory episode. Now, that's really impressive. Hope they use that time well in order to make it not feel rushed. If you put all those 5 episodes together, that's a running time of 110 minutes, which makes it a very respectable full-length movie.

Just a pity the introductory chapter was so lame...

Really? I would've never guessed:eek:. But whatever their use, I doubt no one else thinks the helmets/head gear look dumb. But it's a quibble.

I have nothing against the Clone Snowtrooper armor. For now I'm not too hot about the "Ear Muff Trooper" helmet seen in the previews for this episode, though. Looks like a weird addition to the clone look that doesn't feel like it serves much purpose or belongs there.

I like to see Senate Spy seperate from the Geonosis 4-part. Although I'm sure this episode will make up for it. Watched the video yet?

That is indeed quite interesting. I'd consider this sort of semi-canon, and there are some interesting tidbits there which try to explain a few things, like:

Anakin: "Lott Dod is a traitor. Everything the Jedi have been reporting about the Trade Federation and Banking Clan is true".

This seems to imply that Filoni's explanation is that the Senate never quite believed Obi-Wan's report that those organizations had signed a treaty with Dooku and the CIS.

And apparently Anakin not bringing back Clovis with him to testify on the senate means they still have no proof of the TF and BC's involvement. This is quite absurd, given Padmé, a senator, was also involved in the whole thing.

I know it's a bit too much to be taking this live reading as semi-canon material, but it does show us where Filoni's mind is at. And from that reading it seems that even after this whole Secret Factory affair, the Trade Federation and Banking Clan will STILL remain part of the Republic, with no proof of their direct involvement with any of this.

I'm pretty sure we've seen the last of Dini. I recall reading an interview with him where he said that he'd written "a couple" of episodes, and we've already gotten two. He said in that same interview that he was invited to kick around ideas for season 3, but couldn't do it because of other commitments.

I like Dini, but the scripts go through so many hands it's hard to tell how much material came from him. I wouldn't consider him a major part of season one, even though he was involved with one of the best ones (Cloak of Darkness).

I was never a Buffy fan, so I'm not sure how Drew Z is. I like what we've seen so far...I definitely feel like the scripts in production-season 2 have been a little more "live actioney", if that makes sense.

And yet again, Canada is left out in the cold because Teletoon decided to skimp on the episode and wait to show it a week behind the U.S

Damn I wish I got cartoon network.

I didn't watch the whole clip, but from what I saw when Filoni introduced Matt Wood that Grievous is definitely going to be in this arc somewhere...if true, that will be sweet! And a 4 parter?:D Holy carp, I hope they can sustain the action for that long(and the plot as well.)

Teletoon had an opportunity to show the first 2 episodes of the season and only showed one.

Now, in the two week layoff between E04 and E05, once again Teletoon has a chance to pull even and chooses not to.

I'm guessing this must be part of the terms of their contract, honestly, otherwise it doesn't make sense. CN probably wants people to subscribe to it through satellite or something (?).

EDIT: Here's the script of the read-through the cast did of a prelude to Point Rain at Fan Days:

    OS article here

EST. SHOT CORUSCANT - JEDI TEMPLE EXT - DAY

Traffic buzzes past the towers as we push in on the temple

INT JEDI TEMPLE - HALLWAY - DAY

Obi-Wan and Ahsoka greet Padmé and Anakin in the hallway towards the Jedi war room.

    OBI-WAN

It's good to see you up and about again, Padmé. Congratulations on the success of your mission.

    PADMÉ

Thank you, General Kenobi. Of course the mission would have failed had Anakin -- I mean General Skywalker -- not accompanied me.

    OBI-WAN

Yes, well, you're too kind. We all know you were the one taking the risk.

    ANAKIN

    Hey, I was taking risks.

    OBI-WAN

Of course you were, Anakin. The question is how many of them were unnecessary?

    AHSOKA

Well, he was only gone a day or two, so I'd guess fifty percent were unnecessary.

    OBI-WAN

That's right, I forgot I asked you to start keeping track.

    ANAKIN

Ignore them, Padmé, they don't realize no one else finds this funny.

    PADMÉ

    Actually, it's quite entertaining.

    OBI-WAN

    You see, Anakin!

    ANAKIN

Go ahead, laugh it up, but in the end the risks BOTH of us took paid off. Lott Dod, is a traitor; everything the Jedi have been reporting about the Trade Federation and the Banking Clan is true.

    OBI-WAN

And I'm certain that you never let your emotional involvement get the better of you and you brought back proof of these claims?

    ANAKIN

Proof?!! Padmé was poisoned what further proof do we need!

    OBI-WAN

Anakin, if the Senate or the Chancellor were willing to act based solely on the word of the Jedi, then the corporations would have been put to trial years ago.

    PADMÉ

He's right, Anakin. I've seen the accusations against the Trade Federation come up in the Senate and they always fall on deaf ears. We couldn't even convict Gunray after he invaded Naboo.

    ANAKIN

    But Clovis admitted everything!

    OBI-WAN

So naturally you took him into custody? But, no wait, you did the exact opposite of that. You left him on Cato Neimoidia!

    ANAKIN

    I had no choice.

    OBI-WAN

I want to believe you. I really do, but sometimes, Anakin, you place your feelings ahead of the mission, and I'm afraid in this case--

    PADMÉ

I'm afraid in this case Anakin might have put my safety and our friendship ahead of the mission, yes. But Obi-wan, I cannot believe, as Anakin's mentor, if put in his place you would not have done the same. After all, we are all friends are we not?

    OBI-WAN

Well, yes, I guess you're right.

They all pause and smile at their odd argument

    OBI-WAN

Come along now, we can not keep Master Yoda waiting. It's time to see what the Council has decided to do about the revolt on Geonosis and the new droid foundries there.

They all start to walk towards the war room, Ahsoka walks along side Padmé

    AHSOKA

You're really good at defusing those two. You have to teach me your methods

    PADMÉ

Most of the time I defeat them with common sense. That's your best weapon

They enter the war room where they find Master Yoda and Plo Koon waiting for them, a hologram of the planet Geonosis looms above him, and another smaller planet is on the display screens along the walls.

    YODA

    Welcome bac

I liked that clip. These guys are good. And Dave is awesome. 'Oh right, he's dead'. [face_laugh]
Good to know there's always a possibility for reassembling droid characters. Bring on the Seth Green awesomeness! ......After a suitable waiting period! :D

It's also nice to know that they're bringing up Dorin having its black holes, though I feel a little guilty that its 'awesome concept' was spared when Ryloth is sort of fighting for its day/night sides. [face_worried]

Just as a small reminder- spoilers for this episode (and information for others episodes released through the official site, etc) are fine here, but please try to avoid posting spoilers for upcoming episodes- I'd request you use HTR at the very least if you feel it's relevant to the discussion.

I think the newseel will make it easy enough to ignore if one chooses to begin with Landing.

No, it's a lead-in to it. Sort of like the webcomic used to be.

I wonder if we'll actually see this mission to Dorin by Anakin and Plo Koon. Could we maybe have already seen Dorin in one of the trailers?

I think it's the planet from the animation video on the OS were you see those commando droids.

BTW: A new promo on CN were it's even more confirmed this is the first part of four:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G66xcll0SPg

for those hesitating, it shows little new footage, only some Geonosians attacking.

For those who do not want to see it, the narrator says:

"The next four episodes of SWTCW are so unbelievable, we decided to start them a little early. This week, new episodes start wednesday at 8.

Weird coincidence that we got the DVD yesterday with Dave talking about maybe reassembling droid characters like the Doctor, and we go and see he's done that with this table reading with that video posted online the same day (albeit of events that took place a week or two ago).

I couldn't amke out the comment about Coffee- anyone clarify that for me?

Just learned the new episode is on tonight! I had a horrible school day, this should make up for it!

I liked that prelude script, especially the first half with Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, and Ahsoka.
