Oh good. I'm not the only one who thought Grans were going to be the other murder victims besides Ono. :p

    This.

And what's King Katuunko doing at the Senate?

I hope we get some episodes that focus on the changing of armor and fighters. And the reaction of the clones to it.

Pretty good episode, glad Bail and Moth Montha got some spotlight.

I doubt we'll get that. Filoni already said that they wouldn't focus on these changes, so it seems this little scene is Filoni's way of telling us to get ready for a sudden Phase II clone shift.

Oh snap, I didn't get the joke behind Senator Halle Burtoni until now.

Is Senator Mee Deechi a parody of the "Medici" clan who ruled Florence for a time?

Finally, Tan Divo sounds too much like "Dan Tivo", which is what I always call him by mistake.

It was a pretty important issue that was being debated so perhaps he wanted to be there in person. Since his world was newly allied to the Republic, he may wish to deal with many things personally whilst leaving things on Toydaria to others. He may have travelled there specially or perhaps he has been on Coruscant for a while to establish a Toydarian presence and see how things are done for himself.

One thing I forgot to mention: the Guards were a huge letdown. They were just senate Commandos with a bigger crest and some fabric hanging off their shoulder. [face_frustrated]

I understand the difficulty of making new character models, but if they don't have the capability to make a certain character or madel yet, they should just wait until they can instead of doing a halfway job.

I did notice the Halle Burtoni reference - a lot less subtle than some - but that 'Medici' reference is a pretty interesting little tidbit.

As for the Senate guards, I think their TCW appearance bodes well for their future use; they've clearly been designed for a more 'actiony' role, which indicates that the production crew visualise having them do more in the future than just standing around flanking important people.

Indeed. Specially because how people were describing them here.

I like how were starting to see them. I'm sure we won't see them in action until mid Season 3 the earliest but I like it.

Finally got to see it. Not what I'd call an EXCITING episode, but I actually liked it as a contrast. It worked better than 'Senate Spy', in my opinion, because it did a lot to focus on the other characters and make them distinct. Just a few notes...

-Ah, poor Uncle Ono. We hardly knew ye, flawed but overall nice guy. :(
-The Phase 2 armor hologram was a VERY nice touch, as was the Ithorian Senator backing down because he was afraid of public opinion
-Bail Organa seemed awesome to me despite his weirdly Rastafarian voice. First, he dares to psychoanalyse Padme, and next, I believe he had that manly shriek of terror when another crate was coming at them XD
-The lieutenant was an interesting character. His tone of voice and look seem to contrast with his surprising sense of duty...though he sure doesn't like his job getting harder. I can relate. None of these exceptional individuals cares about the average schmuck who suffers because of their adventures. :p
-Also, Tom Kenny. You can never have enough Tom Kenny. :D
-The Senate Guard/Commandos wear the blue armor, but have the cloak and ceremonial helmet. It's a nice bit of addition
-Did I hear that right, Senator Deeci...'Unpatwiotic'? Am I the only one who heard that? [face_laugh]
-The Kaminoan Senator reminded me of Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove. AWESOME. If she could only say "I've been serving in the senate for...for many, many years!" XD
-I actually started suspecting it was the Rodian senator. The murderer's posture didn't quite seem hunched or long enough to be a Kaminoan, and there's the whole 'only Ono died' thing.
-Her motives were interesting, in that it's an episode a long time back coming to stab him in the back. Nice to see more continuity amongst episodes, even distant ones
- PIMP SLAP! (whacks blaster away) FALCON PUNCH! (TKO!)

Yes, me too. Is it a coincidence, or a shout out to how popular their mortality rate is? XD

Oddly enough, I felt that too! It would have been a perfect match if she had her own bumbling assistant.

I'm trying to figure out where I've heard that voice before, she sounded familiar.

I think Divo said "senating" when he did the finger quote thing. Funny!

Anyway, this was a pretty good filler episode. I honestly didn't figure out who the killer was until Padme did.

Was anyone else hoping that Gunray was behind the whole thing? I wanted hear him gloat about having Ono killed! Oh well. That would have been a lot of fun for us Nute fans! He was referenced indirectly though, when the character's mentioned Ono's past "mistake".

Great episode, I love that while the heroes are winning all the battles on the front line, they lose the key battle to stop the madness escalating, playing directly into the hands of Sidious.

Good to see Satine in the background for a moment and the Bith wandering around. There are still a heck of a lot of Ithorians in the Senate building though. I like their new habit of introducing a model in one episode and then using it a few later, like with SInube appearing in Grievous Intrigue but featured in Lightsaber Lost.

You know, it's going to be a bit of a jolt seeing the heroic Clone Troopers running around looking a lot like Stormtroopers.

I wonder if Rex will wear the new armor, or just wear the old ?

Well, it would distinguish him from the other clones more if he stuck to the phase I armour and add creedence to the idea that he won't be involved in Order 66 (he's just too darn heroic).

Though, on the other hand, they could sell a lot of new Captain Rex action figures if they change his helmet :)

I agree. As a matter of personal preference, I certainly would pick Phase 1 armor. Though I wonder whether any clone troopers would share that sentiment, as it's pretty much better than the first one when it comes out.
But that doesn't mean that I can't appreciate how awesome it is, visually and thematically. :p

I wonder how hard it would be to reproduce or modify the existing 'paint jobs' on clone armor for phase 2 armor, seeing as we've got a number of different styles out there. [face_thinking]

Somehow I don't think Rex will change into Phase II armour. The Phase I is such a big part of his identity, that changing him into Phase II would actually "corrupt" him a little bit. Cody will obviously change into Phase II, and I guess that would further separate the two, Cody being the more "by-the-book" of the two, and the one that we know follows Order 66 with no hesitation. As for applying the individual paint jobs to the new armour, I don't see that they would have much trouble with that. They already did something similar with Waxer and Boil changing into ARF Trooper gear.

Changing subject, one big advantage of this early episode release is that we get to watch the episode without knowing so many spoilers. No preview clips, no trailers, no special reports and interviews...

True, and the same will count for Cat and Mouse, airing this friday. It's actually getting quite confusing.

They might get Rex into the Phase II armour because they can sell more action figures.

Also, though I enjoyed the episode, the main reason we couldn't figure out who was the killer because the killings didn't necessarily make sense, as Gry pointed out.

"I wonder if Rex and Cody will change into Mk2 soon or not. I can see Cody going Mk2 pretty soon, but somehow I think Rex will retain his Mk1 for the entire show, it's just such a big part of his identity..."

How? He has never said anything about the armor in the series, why do you think the character cares how it looks? So far in the series Cody seams like just as much a nice guy as Rex, perhaps a bit nicer, what differentiates Rex from him? We have no reason to believe that in the George Lucas version of Star Wars Rex doesn?t eventually get to shoot him some Jedi younglings.

I mean, the Phase I is a big part of his visual identity. He's one of the major characters in the show, and we've always known him in Phase I armour. Imagine if Darth Vader changed helmets between Ep4 and Ep5, that would be a significant character shift. We first knew Cody wearing Phase II armour, so him changing into that now doesn't really affect his persona much. Of course we don't know that Rex won't follow Order 66 to the letter like everyone else, but it just seems like the show is slowly trying to build him into something a little bit different, which could be reflected by his sticking to the Phase I.
