She reminds me of Pussy Galore. Bo-Katan even has a team of women...The Nightowls, like Pussy Galore's Flying Circus.

    I agree about the Protectors.

However, I don't think they'd be an entirely separate faction from the New Mandalorians at all. Based on the dark and dismal path they're most likely taking Satine down, I think they'll ditch the Complete Atlas' nice little retcon of Spar overthrowing Satine and simply make Satine establish the Protectors as her own incorruptible enforcers.

Plus, it would be hard to establish a faction of Mandalorians that's so utterly perfect (ie. peaceful like New Mandos, strong like DW) without falling into the Traviss trap.

Except those who don't favor Karen Traviss might deny that. I think it's all right, but I'm not much of a fan of LOTF. It's been a while, but I think Boba was Mandalore during the Vong War IIRC before LOTF. Not entirely sure at the moment unless I check.

Traviss didn't make Boba Fett Mandalore. Shysa passed on the title to him before his death on Shogun.

Yeah, that's what I thought. It's been a while and I don't pay much attention to Mandalorians. :p

TCW has a thing for interspecies relationships. I find it weird that Lux (what type of dude is attracted to chicks with worms on her head?) is attracted to an alien and vice versa. I know it can happen in the GFFA, however it is still not the norm, even in that galaxy with MANY species. Human beings are just natrually attracted to there own kind. If this relationship between them goes further....then their being different species should be brought up.

I don't see anything wrong with interspecies relationships. It's been touched upon before, since a former Clone Trooper fell for a Twi'lek. I also agree about the pictures--they do seem cute together!

A well done episode for the most part. It started off shaky with a lot of clunky, wooden dialogue. It makes me wonder if the voice actors just recorded their lines separate from one another and not at the same time in the studio. I started having flashbacks of dialogue between Anakin and Padme in AotC. Yech!

+Stunning visual graphics (but I hope that there?s more focus on plot in the future than graphics)
    +Great action scenes.
+?Careful not to choke on your stupidity? was the best line in the episode.
    +Nice choreographed lightsaber battle w/Ahsoka and Pre-Vizsla.
+Scene of the droids asking R2 to fix them reminded me of C3PO and R2 in the jawa sand crawler amongst all those scrap piled droids.
+Bo-Katan smacking Ahsoka on the behind!
+Dragging Ahsoka back to camp in the snow.

-Tryla's dying request for Ahsoka to save her people was quite bizarre. Was a scene cut where Ahsoka told Tryla that she was a Jedi, or did news spread even that far in the galaxy of Ahsoka?s overpoweredness?
-Ahsoka?s lightsabers get knocked out of her hands and somehow conveniently land on the speeder and just stay there?! Are they magnetic?!
-Felt like a scene was cut between when Ahsoka impales that guy and then she?s gotten rid of her coat and is running about with another bar.
-You get Katee Sackhoff from BSG and you give her only a few lines??!! NOOOO!!!!! More Katee Sackhoff!!!!!!
-Episode feels rushed and stampedes over plot development.

Never said that it was some immoral wrong. I may dislike the pairing, but its not because they are different species. All im saying, is that some "realism" should be added (yes you can add realisim in star wars). That means, show the differences between the characters (i know 3 already, Lux is not apart of the Republic, not a Jedi, and not an alien), and how they deal with them in their relationship. To make a good interspecies relationship in scifi, you don't ignore the fact that they are different....in other words, they should not act EXACTLY as if they WERE the same species.

After all, Ahsoka being an alien is a big thing if you think about it. If they ever had a future together, she could NOT give him natural kids (one could argue they could make hybrid babies, but for the most part in star wars, aliens can't have kids with humans, and a baby between a near-human and a human doesn't count).

And many people in the GFFA also have the whole ideology of "Man superior to Alien". So if Ahsoka hypothetically survived TCW, and had a future with Lux, they could get backlash from others.

All im trying to say, is that there relationship should not be treated normal or part of the norm. Even if Ahsoka wasn't an alien, this relationship would STILL not be normal...because she is a JEDI...and jedi arn't supposed to have a relationships, she is also apart of the Republic as well.

It would have been nice if one of the Mandalorians in this episode questioned why Lux has betrothed a togruta.

By this point, it is clear that I don't like this show anymore. I'll watch it to pick stuff up (ideas, designs, etc.) but overall, I'm just watching as some obligated fan of his favorite era. :(

So here is my review of this ep.:
    Pros:
    -Great scenery
-I like many of the upgrades that DW recieved
-the droids were cool and creative
    -sweet looking Commando Droids

    Cons:
-They have officially ruined Pre Vizla and they did it all in one episode. Amazing. This needs a list all on its own.....
-Bo-katan is based on Dave's wife's favorite animal. Wonderful. @Filoni: Stop bringing your personal life into this show! Nobody cares about what YOU like! Fans want to see what THEY like!
-Why is R2 so gullible? He actually believed Lux about Ahsoka being "exhausted"? I thought this droid was smart!
-I'm no fan of "Luxhsoka". Kill it with fire.
-The Mirialian-looking people were completely unecesary. Forced way to bring emotion in the episode.
-So Death Watch is now nothing more than a bunch of Joker-pirates? Here I thought they were soldiers with a purpose of recreating Mandalore but it turns out that they are nothing but clowns. Pathetic.
-If I knew communicating with Dooku was so easy, I'd ask him to get me a Pizza. Seriously, I'm pretty sure this guy has more important things to do than order the execution of some kid that doesn't like him. He has a freakin WAR to run!!!
-Senate commando capes were gone. Just goes to show that the animators are afraid of tackling cloth.

    As for Vizla being ruined:
-he's now Dooku's bitch. I thought that was Grievous's role....
-bald? seriously? Now he looks like Rex! so much for individualism....
-His Jetpack is now huge and has no sign of mando-origin. The buttons were clearly placed there for the moment in this episode when it blows up. Wow.
-I happen to have liked his serape....
-blasters on his helmet? WTF?! Talk about Deaf Watch!
-he's crazy. Mentally insane. His character here is so much different from the character in Season 2.
-He doesn't even sound the same.

Way to go Dave/Lucas. You ruined yet another badass character.

My rating for this episode: 6/10 It wasn't a good comeback for Death Watch and there were alot of problems. Still, this episode makes up for its issues by being rewatchable.

I miss the feel of Season 1 and 2.....kinda sick of rewatching them too.....

I can't remember the exact issue #s now(somewhere between 100 - 107) but Shysa does bring a squad of star fighters to aid the rebellion against the Nagai, all of them are driven by armored Mandalorians that get seen on the page. We certainly don't see the massive numbers of them, but its more than one or two. In the earleir Mandalorian issues as well you see a whole city of them, just not in the armor.

The only question I have is where does this approach stop? I certainly agree that they should be showing us the cool stuff like Dooku vs Vizsla, but an Ahsoka briefing with Obi-Wan really isn't that important overall. I think its pretty safe to assume that general knowledge about the Death Watch group would be fairly common knowledge for the Jedi in general, esspecially one thats going to be working on Mandalore itself.

In this case thats not much of a story telling stretch as its honestly pretty trivial. Vizsla's scar on the other hand is something far more substancial.

She's a humanoid. Hey, it's not like she's a gaint space otter or something. Do a quick google image search, lots of humans seem to regard Ahsoka as attractive.;)

    Ahsoka isn't real!!!
    OH MY GAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111!!!!!!!!

But anyway, yeah, I fail to see how interspecies relationships couldn't work if they have pretty much the same parts. Neither of them get out much anyway.

Whether or not they could reproduce is another matter.

Again, the episode looked lovely. some super weather effects. Alas it committed the unforgivable sin of being immensely boring. A whole Japanese village planet full of Boba Fetts and this was the most exciting stuff they could come up with. When I stopped thinking 'huh? who did what now?', I suppose I was moderately pleased to see that Death Watch are no longer Seppie pawns. Ah well, onto next week.

Hey check it out, I'm actually writing something positive. Because this is apparently a big deal and more people will accuse me of trolling if I don't.

    - While I'm not fond of the concept of Luxsoka, I have to admit it was, on the whole, well-done. And I'm not talking about the stupid kiss and betrothed lines. I mean the interaction between the two characters throughout. The ending scene in particular was good.

    - If all you want is entertainment, look no further than this episode, because that whole sequence of action has a lot of replay value. It was enjoyable for what it was. I personally don't consider this to be a plus because entertainment value is one of the main things you should expect to be able to take for granted from TV shows, and therefore the fact that it is there isn't really an accomplishment worthy of merit, but I can see why people laud the action scenes.

Heck, I was just as mixed about the episode as you, and I have to disagree with alot of these points. First off, how the hell is he Dooku's bitch if he's out to kill him? Its obvious from the get-go that he wants nothing to do with the Separatists anymore.

Also, his jetpack didn't have any buttons. Ahsoka slashed it open, which caused it to explode. I also seem to have missed the blasters on helmet thing. Maybe, I'm forgetting this stuff. (which is not meant to be a jibe against you, I just don't remember that much from the episode in general.)

As for the insanity? Alot of people on this thread have accounted for that.

For you to suggest that we should search for Ahsoka images on google, and since it's the Internet and you know what you will see, is pretty strange.

I find it really interesting that so many people are indentifying with Lux in this inter species love story discussion.

To me, I totally find myself identifying with Ahsoka far more because she's a charcter we know( and presumably) care about. The fact that she's not human never even enters into it for me.

The politics could have been dropped from the start of this episode, and it wouldn't have made a damn difference. I'm not against politics in TCW, but I want them to fit in with the context of the episode. Plus, the sit down and talk politics are so boring! I prefer the inclusion of it in episodes like Trespass, or the excellent Mandalore Trilogy. There, they fit into the plot, and still provide room for action.

Here, it again felt like they'd cobbled two different episodes together.
