I was wondering the other day what can the new Wii controller do for existing franchises? Of course we have some idea about how the controller is going to work with Zelda, Mario, and Metroid Prime 3. But what about the other 3rd party franchises we have learned to love over the years...

My question is what franchise or series would you love to see for the Wii???

Besides star wars and resident evil I would really like to see what they could do with a new mega man or prince of persia game. The controller possiblities are endless.

I'd be wary of a 3D Mega Man- the series usually doesn't work very well in it. And I can't see the Wii controller being that radical for a 2D sidescroller, unless you worked in some kind of new moves based around tilt and pitch.

i thought the same about castlevania. some series were just made to be sidescrollers

the version on the n64 didn't work in my eyes..

but a new f-zero would be nice

I think that should practically be a given.

I agree. I don't really like the Metroid Prime series on the Gamecube , I totally prefer the Gameboy games over the 3D ones on the Cube. Though the Wii might change my mind.[face_thinking]

I prefer the Metroid Prime's over the side scrollers. but the Mega Man legend games in my opinion were not that good...Maybe the 3-d mega man just wasn't executed correctly?

Anyway I would prefer to see a hybrid of sidescrolling with some 3D elements in mega man like what Viewtiful Joe was able to accomplish. It could be cool...

I also prefer sidescrolling Castlevania more.

Castlevania was definitely meant to be sidescrolling, though I've heard a lot of people say God of War was basicly like a 3D Castlevania done right, so who knows? Maybe Mega Man can be done in 3D and they've just blown the opportunity till now.

The Prime series and the regular Metroid series are difficult to compare- they both are heavy exploration action titles with platforming and puzzle elements, the Prime series just adds a mild shooter immersion element to things while the main series is more hardcore.

God of War was incredible. If Castlevania were built like that, that would be grreat (office space slur). Replace all the barbarians with skeletons and zombies and you're onto something special.

A new MegaMan would be tough for me to get into - and its probably because I played so many of the older titles. For some reason, Castlevania has never gotten old. However, I wasn't impressed with any of the iterations since Symphony of the Night on PS1 - they just can't compare.

    I'm MegaMan'ed out - but can't wait for a well done Castlevania.

Dawn of Sorrow on the DS really got me stoked about Castlevania again. It's an amazing game. Ever since 64, most of the Castelvania games have left me with a ho-hum feeling. I'd love to see a new game on a next-gen system, but I honestly think it needs to stay 2D.

That could be awsome! (If done right of course...)

How many 3-D Castlevania games have there been? 3 or 4? They were always hard to get into.....and the recent gameboy advance games have been decent as well, however any game with Soma Cruz...I could just not get into. Don't get me wrong, there were and are some good ideas built into those games, but just didn't care for their stories.

To be fair, Soontir would be happy with any game featuring whipping action.

    What are you insinuating here?

That I like to whip it? Perhaps even whip it good?

Also, did you get that Phoenix Wright? It went off the website almost 10 minutes later.

The only Mega Man action I'm looking forward to on the Wii is the action I'll get via Virtual Console. :p

Unfortunently the guy in charge Castlevania is aprehensive about developing for the Wii.

On the plus side, Portrait of Ruin lookes AWESOME.
