While Nintendo?s plan of downloading a library of classics is definitely enticing, I can?t help but feel that relaying too much on this factor perpetuates the mentality that Nintendo is a company too willing to relay on past franchises instead of coming up with new ideas. While admittedly I don?t follow current videogame releases quite as enthusiastically as I once did, I?m not sure I can name any recent Nintendo titles that are all new and every bit as engaging as their classics. Quite often people say that you buy a Nintendo console to buy Nintendo games, but one wonders how long this will last when increasingly all you hear about is the next Zelda, Metroid, or Mario.

Nintendo has stated they have at least one new title/franchise in the works for the Rev.

I have wireless internet (DSL) and I have a wireless adapter hooked up to my XBOX, will that adapter work for XBOX 360 or will I have to buy a new adapter?

I am going to sell my XBOX 1 and keep all the games and buy XBOX 360 because you can play XBOX 1 games on 360.

    Good Stuff

Since the wireless adapter is just a third-party peripheral not intended solely for XBox, I'd say that it should definitely work with 360.

At least one- they're obviously not going to all come out at once or all be at launch, afterall.

Thought I'd post this here, very interesting and good to show to those who've been propheszing the death of Nintendo for years.

I'm not 100% sure whether this has been officially denied or confirmed, but I found an article from an MS press briefing on the backwards compatability of the 360.

The most important announcement at this event was the demonstration of the Xbox 360, planned for release this holiday season. Company management stated that the Xbox 360 would be backward compatible for ?most top selling Xbox games?, and pledged ?support ? for the current generation Xbox ?well into 2006?. Two weeks ago, we noted our concern that the Xbox 360 may not be backward compatible with Xbox software due to a change in graphics processor chipset manufacturers from Nvidia to ATI. In a separate meeting with Microsoft management, we confirmed that the company has agreed to pay a small royalty to Nvidia to allow the Xbox 360?s ATI chipset to emulate the performance of the Nvidia chipset in reading certain Xbox games. For games written in a single layer (management assumes that this is a large percentage of Xbox games), the hardware emulation should perform well.

For games written in multiple layers, a further emulation must be provided. The company intends to create software ?patches? (i.e., separate emulation programs) for top-selling Xbox games written in multiple layers, and intends to sell the Xbox 360 with a hard drive that is pre-loaded with these patches. We presume that the majority of Xbox games will be backward compatible, and the company assured us that it intends to add patches should consumer demand warrant such action.

KotOR 3 will most likely be the first 360 Star Wars game... and Lucasarts will likely make Obsidian (or whoever's developing it) rush the game... again.

    This is my opinion.

Sony PS3: Admittedly PS3's specs do look impressive, but if Matrix and Toy Story graphics will prove anything, Sony loves to blow it's own horn. I'll wait until I actually see a guy controlling a character onscreen in a PS3 game. Speaking of which the controllers flat out sucked. What's with the batarang look? All these years and you still don't have the brains to move your analog up?(Ow, my sore thumb) The console itself is nice though.

Microsoft XBox 360: Microsoft is somewhat more honest than Sony, but they aren't playing it right to attract more consumers. Still, the games do look promising, especially Elder Scrolls IV(which will also be on the PC, mind you.). We'll see in due time.

Nintendo Revolution: I keep having the feeling that they're hiding something truly amazing for the world. I like the fact that Nintendo is price-minded, I really can't afford a $400+ console. I'm disappointed that they haven't shown anything, but their console is the sleekest looking one among the three.

Well, my opinion. If none of the consoles impress me, I'll get a PC upgrade. Games just aren't what they used to be, I get bored of them so quick. We need something new, hear that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo?

P.S. I was actually expecting Nokia to reveal some sort of N-Gage 2. I thought Nokia was extremely underrated.

    XBOX 360 price news

Microsoft Corp. plans a hefty subsidy on its next generation gaming console, the Xbox 360, when it hits store shelves this fall, according to industry estimates. The company provided little financial information when it unveiled the device last month, but Patrick Parr and Martin Cecchetto, analysts at UBS Securities LLC, expect Microsoft will pay its manufacturing partners about $375 (U.S.) a unit and sell them to consumers for $299. In a research note, they estimated that two of the contractors, Flextronics International Ltd. and Celestica Inc., will share revenue of between $350-million and $450-million this year and between $900-million and $1.1-billion in 2006. Wistron, a contract manufacturer in Taiwan, will take the leading role, building 60 to 70 per cent of the initial units, the analysts wrote. By some estimates, Microsoft has lost as much as $1.2-billion a year on the first Xbox since introducing the device in 2001, largely because of the price discounts that are designed to take business from market leader Sony Corp.'s PlayStation. MSFT (Nasdaq) fell 36 cents to $25.43. Flex (Nasdaq) fell 24 cents to $13.01. CLS.SV-T (TSX) fell 27 cents to $16.23 (Canadian).

I thought Microsoft was trying to not lose money on the 360 hardware like they did with the first XBox.

Do you really have to reserve it?

Halo 2,DS, PSP was available everywhere else but EBGames, and Gamestop the next morning.

These two places lies so they could make $$$

I ain't gonna reserve it unless I get some for Free.

Probably gonna reserve at Best Buy, if they offer doble rewardzone points.

    $300x2 = $600

    $600/150 =4

    = $20

Or if you get it Target with their credit card, you get $30 (10%) off.
