The DS game is for FFXII, not XIII.

 

Microsoft has been hemming and hawing for the past six years that they've got something to "one-up" Apple. They still have yet to deliver something, although the devil-deal they struck with Amazon's new movie-downloading software (Windows-only, and can't be played on iPods) is certainly eyebrow-raising. Part of the reason the iPod may be "losing" is that they haven't done anything new lately. It's been almost a year since any iPod version has been upgraded (the last truly "new" iPod was the Video iPod in October of 2005).

I think that what Apple needs is new hardware to make it years ahead of everybody else. Again. An all-screen widescreen touch-iPod would just about do it (and to not screw up the movie system at the increasingly-misnamed iTunes Music Store). I'd be surprised if they put out a cell phone.

It could be a nifty device, if done right. Like an iPod Nano with a bigger screen, phone bits, and built-in iSight. Sounds like an engineering nightmare. I know their relationship with Motorola is soured over the ROKR, but Motorola phones suck.

Also, the more you reserve Wii/PS3 games, the more systems they'll send us. Hopefully if people reserve more games the Xbox 360 shortage can be averted. So go support your local Game Stop.

The heck I'll pay that much for a single game!

Bad enough the game system cost too much and they're only reducing the price in Japan in a meager attempt to generate interest at home for the PS3. But to pay the better part of $100 for a single game whose relative quality (be it in gameplay, graphics, or whatever) might be questionable?

As it is I'm one of those that normally waits until a game's price has been lowered to around $20 before buying it. That or find it significantly on sale when it first comes out.

Maybe...maybe only if they finally came out with the supposed last installment of the LoK series...and it's ONLY on the PS3...and I already magically have the game system...AND the reviews for the game are so good there's no way to pass up on the game at all...maybe I'd be tempted to think about getting single game at that price. But that's a LOT of maybe's even for a series I really like. If it came down to it, I'd probably just get the PC version (and I'm not a PC gamer anymore).


I think it's going to be a loooooooooooooong time before the hubby and I even think about entertaining the idea of getting a PS3.

 

Defiance and Blood Omen 2 were released on a few systems (which ones exactly slip my mind). Sadly I do not own Defiance, but I have played most of it... I know it's pathetic, I'm a hardcore LoK fan, and I don't even own Defiance which is like $9 now.

And I'm pretty sure LoK is dead... Not to be the bringer of bad news, but the woman in charge of the series left Eidos so... Maybe it's not dead but the future looks grim. It sucks too because it seemed like there was only one more chapter left.

 

The price for a PS3 game reminds me of the price cartridges used to cost, especially for the N64.

 

I just like how the blue light will look on the black case of the Wii. It's like Nintendo took the idea of the blue light thing from PS2 and made it look cooler.I'll still pick up my copy of TP, but I just might wait to get the black one. Don't know for sure yet.

PS3 games 59.99. Apparently Japan has traditionally paid more for it's games. Which will put it in line with the 360 games.

 

Yeah, I'd be pretty surprised if they ever finished the series, too.

Which is why I said it coming out exclusively on the PS3 AND being a really good game (since there's speculation that IF they ever did get around to finishing the series on a whim or need for more money, the quality might go straight down the toilet), that might be the only thing to make me think about getting the system.



Unless they change their price points for the system and games, to me it seems only the hardcore gamers (with money to burn) and the rental business will go for the PS3. I can see people renting the system and games. IF they really like the system and find enough quality games to make it worth their while, THEN they might spring for one.

 

You can add another "64" platform to the Virtual Console lineup: Commodore 64!

When it comes to this part of the console, I'm excited, but I don't intend to buy any games I don't currently own in playable, non-emulation form. With such a huge (and seemingly expanding) catalog of titles, I really hope Nintendo releases more VC downloads than they have planned right at the moment (especially third-party games).

 

I still maintain in the US at least Play Station 3's high price will hurt it with casual gamers. particualry since it does not have as many exclusive frachises as before. Yes, there is a hard core of PS fans who will pay whatever Sony charges, but that is not where the real profits are at.

Anybody hear about this? Now that's how presidents of companies should be. Get in touch with your audience to show them you believe in your product. Just because you can crush people with your wallet, doesn't mean you can't still be a people person.

 

I'm tempted to haul ass to NYC and camp out for the next month-and-a-half.

I brought out a bunch of stuff about the PS3 and Sony inability to handle its business. Look at all the faulty ideals that they say is true. It is all a dream to them for they cannot even grasp what they are trying to build
