The Diamond from Temple of Doom's Opening Scene.

I was wondering if the diamond that Indy trades the urn for in Temple of Doom is the Treasure of the Peacock's Eye from the Young Indiana Jones series?

Does anybody know? In the tv film Young Indy decides to give up trying to find it. Does an older Indiana try to get it in the Club Obi-Wan?

 

Very good question. As a big fan of both TOD (it was better than Last Crusade, IMHO) and the YIJC T.V. series, it would be interesting to know if these diamonds were one and the same. I know that Lucasfilm intentionally links the T.V. show with the films in some cases, so who knows....

 

maybe we'll find out when the SW saga is completed, and GL can return to the pile of scripts and projects on his shelf.

 

We don't actually get to see the Young Indiana Jones series here in Sri Lanka. But what a strange coincidence that I saw the episode:-Treasure of the Peacock's eye on video! Just that episode!

Hmm, interesting idea Gobi-1! The diamond is a large one, just like the peacock's eye!

I looked thru Indiana Jones.com but could find anything to help me figure out if it is the Treasure of the Peacock's Eye.

 

Wow, I never thought of that! That could be why "...Peacocks's Eye" was included with the VHS set previously. Interesting.

 

That'd be cool bit of continuity if it was. It'd be like the Cross of Coronado from the beginning of Last Crusade. Something Indy was searching for his whole life. The fact that the original hunt for it was his last adventure with his old war-buddy Remy makes it real poignant.
