It definately went out early, my store didn't have it street dated so we put it out on... the 19th? 20th?

    I've already read it.

And can I admit to rather hating most of the ender saga after Enders game? Sorry they just... ugh.

I was at my bookstore tonight and they didn't have it yet...

I'll read it, and I loved all of the classic Ender quartet. I wasn't half as fond of the Shadow books, though...

I am 3/4 done with it. I LOVE it so far. I can't believe where he has taken some of these characters.

I saw it at Barnes and Noble but I couldn't buy it because I had to buy 'The Screenwriter's Bible' first. Plus, none of the other Ender's Game books I have are hardback, so I'll probably just wait for the paperback version to come out.

I hope Shadow of the Giant is good. After loving Ender's Shadow, I thought Shadow of the Hegemon was ok, and Shadow Puppets...yech.

Picked it up, hopefully start it soon.

Some major news though, as there will now be three more Enderverse books coming out!

    1) A Battle School Christmas - speaks for itself, about how Ender spends one Xmas at Battle School, due out this fall.

    2) Shadows in Flight - this is the linking book between the Shadow series and the speaker seris.

    3) Untitled - a novel about Ender & Valentine before Ender meets Jane. Current titles that OSC is considering include:

    ender adrift
    ender
    ender in exile
    ender awakening
    fall of ender

Makes me think it's about how Ender became known as the Xenocide.

Shadow of the Giant was so awesome that I read it all in one day. Stayed up til 2:30am to finish it. It's really awesome. As good as all the other books in the Shadow series.

I've really been wanting to read that since I saw it advertised on OSC's site a few months ago. But I'm a bit behind so I can't yet. I'm just reading Shadow of the Hegemon. Hopefully I'll be caught up before too awfully long.

75 pgs into SotG and I agree, one of the best in the whole Enderverse so far.

Not until today had I found out there was even one sequal to Enders Game. I frantically searched for every book in the series only to find each list with some books missing and the books out of order. If someone could please list EVERY single book in the series in order of release I would very much appreciate it.

In order of release I'm not so sure about, but here I go to give it a shot:

    Ender's Game
    Speaker for the Dead
    Xenocide
    Children of the Mind
    Ender's Shadow
    Shadow of the Hegemon
    Shadow Puppets
    Tales from the Enderverse
    Shadow of the Giant

In timeline order it goes like:

    Ender's Game/Ender's Shadow
    Shadow of the Hegemon
    Shadow Puppets
    Shadow of the Giant
    Speaker for the Dead
    Xenocide
    Children of the Mind
With Tales from the Enderverse taking place throughout, as it's a collection of short stories.

There's two main stories in the series. The Ender Quartet, which tells Ender's story.

    Ender's Game
    Speaker for the Dead
    Xenocide
    Children of the Mind

Then there's the newer series, which is Bean's story and other Battle School students:

    Ender's Shadow
    Shadow of the Hegemon
    Shadow Puppets
    Shadow of the Giant

Again, Tales from the Enderverse takes place throughout the timeline. Its first two stories deal with Ender's parents, then there's the actual short story that was Ender's Game's first incarnation, followed up by a short story taking place before Speaker for the Dead.

I think that covers everything out so far fairly well.

Wow, there are MORE Ender books? I'm delighted. Sounds like the people who have read Shadow of the Giant really liked it, I'm gonna have to pick it up.

So there are two more Ender's books coming out?

Three, actually. First is the Christmas one, but it'll probably be just a short one, maybe 150-200 pgs. Should be out this fall. After that is Shadows in Flight, probably sometime next year. I think Card's mostly done of the first draft. It's about Bean's 3 super kids (and maybe Randall, his 4th super kid) meeting up with nu-Peter after the events of Children of the Mind. It's posible Bean may be in it, depending on how long they were in lightspeed).. After that will be an unnamed book taking place some time after EG but before IC. I'm guessing it has something to do with how Ender became known as Ender the Xenocide and then starting going by Andrew instead.

Everyone keeps giving them in the order of release and then the order in which the story takes place. I want to read them in the order they were released because that was the order Card obviously intended us to read them. Would you all suggest that I should?

Card didn't "obviously" intend them that way at all. He wrote Ender's Game first, and as I understand it wrote Ender's Shadow later so he could then let other authors play with Battle School in their own books. He had so much fun writing Beans story though, he wrote three other books after it, and now has plans to link the two series to bring it full circle, as well as these two other books.

So basically if you read it in release order you'll be reading the two stories separately, but if you read them in timeline order you'll read Ender's Game, Bean's story, then the rest of Ender's Game. I really don't see any big reason to do it in either way. Release date may be best just so you could read Ender's Story, get a refresher of Ender's Game in Ender's Shadow, then read Beans story. The two series really aren't connected that much past the first book in each.

Really though, either way should be okay.

Just finished SotG this morning. Wow. I really got into these characters. Really felt for them in the end. I'm going to have to get a complete set of these books (both series) so I can reread them.

I can't remember the other character's name, but what was it that nu-Peter and her saw at the end of Children of the Mind? I seem to remember thinking at the time that it was a scout ship of some kind. Are we going to find a colony of superhumans - ala Bean and Petra's 9th child?

Good to know that there's going to be a linking book! =D= Can't wait!
