I love that. Any source claiming this though?

Would fit that Force Builders restored the planet after the Lightsideforcestorm

It was a bit of a joke, Alistan Nor was depicted as a planet not a moon and it would severely undermine the story if this grand mythical place Rowan was rediscovering was actually just the previous Rebel Base.

It's likely simply an all new planet with no atlas location at all yet.

Could be placed near Ossus given that the Ossus era Jedi had a lot of grand buildings and even dedicated but unnamed ships according to the TOTJ comics. Nespis VIII was even a planet sized station.

Beyond that it can be placed anywhere in the Galaxy or even outside it considering the unusual cases of Kamino and some implications of the Minos Cluster being off the galactic grid.

Well - knowing that Modi developed his own coordinate system based on 15 parsecs for each unit (44.9 ly) - with, I assume, 5000 light years per Atlas Square... is it possible to begin compiling a list of 2d coordinates for many systems?

I know that Falconer, on The Rancor Pit forum has already tried to do this. Although their estimate for Bespin's first two coordinates ended up being significantly 'off' from the one that has made it into Canon more recently:

    Abregado-rae -4 -317
    Alderaan 129 -6
    Bespin -97 -849 (canonically now -94.93 and -853.25)
    Bilbringi -122 162
    Bimmisaari 679 84
    Bothawui 620 -435
    Bpfassh 163 -916
    Calamari 906 330
    Chazwa 200 106
    Corellia 150 -161
    Coruscant 0 0
    Dagobah 163 -951
    Dantooine -1 559
    Dathomir 314 362
    Elom 631 421
    Endor -345 -681
    Generis 84 451
    Honoghr 847 -31
    Hoth -96 -858
    Kashyyyk 473 10
    Kessel 837 -17 1921 882
    Mandalore 362 273 1446 592
    Myrkr 271 235
    Nal Hutta 702 -206
    Nkllon 58 -616
    Obroa-skai 294 175
    Ord Mantell 2 254
    Pantolomin -37 44
    Rishi 717 -521
    Sluis Van 163 -916
    Svivren 359 -944
    Taanab 297 119
    Ukio 732 -534

And Batuu is now listed at -401.72, -561.84, 004.32. With At Attin at 285.91, 375.30, 019.82

With each square at 5000 light years across, that's also 25,000 square, and 125,000 cubic light years for each one.
So... a LOT of potential coordinates!

I thought I would upload this image, based on MasterCalari's work on Reddit, where he interprets the route Luke took on the holographic map, to Ahch-To, quite differently:

And also, the fuller map, via wookieepedia:
[IMG]Now just trying to find out who on these forums did the prior map analysis (identifying several Legends worlds in theory, plus Utegetu...?)

Using the Battles that Changed the Galaxy map, I've adjusted it to add sector boundaries, and get an idea of the territory around the public First Order, plus Borderlands (around the Mid Rim) and also the shrunken New Republic borders; may have made a few errors on the upper left, however:

Whilst Kashuula (aka Rexxaa1) did the alternate study of the Episode 7 holo map, re-pasted here (on deviantart seemingly, originally) :

Sigh - may have to have this post deleted if the first image can't be uploaded properly...

Exactly, yes. Those were maps I customize myself on Paint, which have so far refused to transfer over.

Is it another variant of the Atlas map, since they've said that's still canon?

Yes Atlas Map update indeed. With full galaxy shot and detail pages for quadrants zoomed in. Followed by pages with quick planet stat profiles before the locations guide stuff begins proper.

That's real good, and may tidy up a few loose ends.

Meantime, wondering how to paste or import images I've customised on Paint? Though I recall I had this trouble on TrekBBS last year.

Also - what was any specific word from Pablo Hidalgo or others, regarding the details of the TFA holomap...?

As there are definitely Aurebesh labels on a number of the worlds, that imply a lot.

I noticed that the new galaxy map in the Complete Editions book changed parts of the Outer Rim border. Compare it to the canon map that was released just a couple years ago. Up in the north and part of the southeast. It's small changes, but I'm curious why it was done.

I figured it was to accommodate new or future planets, but having looked at it, those new areas do seem to coincide with a few sectors that weren't placed in Legends. The Candoras sector seems to fit into the top western edge, and Kobothi Space is meant to be Outer Rim next to Trianii Space and the Corporate Sector, which now has an extra area in canon. I think it could be Jason doing a little extra work to fit in those missed sectors.

The new map is FANTASIC. Honestly, worth the price of the book on its own. It is FAR more expansive than the one in the last Complete Locations, it has grids, confirms tons of new planet placements, and even expanded the borders of the Outer Rim. It is 100% clear to my that our pal @jasonfry had his Atlas hat on when working on this part of the book. [:D]

You know the beanies with propellers on top? Looks like that except when the propeller spins up you go into hyperspace.

Another great map realization Jason - and very well done!

A small question before we move on, maybe - do you know anyone who had involvement in designing the TFA holographic map, and if some notes for this remain with the Story Group?

As there seems to be a fair bit of hidden gold to potentially mine there (including regarding Luke's route to Ahch-To, perhaps)
    And assorted Aurebesh labels.
