    Kreuzader: you mean Runt?

Interestingly, the only SW character whose visual 'look' is purely fan-created (here and here). Is there even an official image of the guy yet?

I supposed I'm rather encouraged by the news, though... :)

Has any source explained why Yoda didn't "have it?" thus far?

    Yup, I'll quote the novel:

"The Sith had changed. The Sith had grown, had adapated, had invested a thousand years' intensive study into every aspect of not only the Force but Jedi lore itself, in preparation for exactly this day. The Sith had remade themselves.

    They had become new.

    While the Jedi-

The Jedi had spent that same millenium training to refight the last war.

The new Sith could not be destroyed with a lightsaber; they could not be burned away by any torch of the force. The brighter his light, the darker their shadow. How could one win a war against the dark, when war itself had become the dark's own weapon?"

Yes, I saw that last page, which prompted me to ask what I did. But how had the Sithlings changed, in what way? That's what I'd like to know, or whether it has yet.

I always thought that the situation was quite self-explanatory, myself...

Not to me. The new Sith breed aren't easily vaped by saber or Force? I wouldn't mind knowing how . . .

    . . . midi-chlorian tampering, perhaps?

Its a figure of speech rather than a literal statement. Sur eindividual Sith can be killed, but the Sith as a whole arent making armies anymore, ther ebeing dark and manipulative, while the Jedi are waiting for another army of sith warriors.

The Jedi had prepared to fight a Sith War like the Bane war and the Kun war - with sheer numbers and blades.

They werent capable of defeating an enemy within. The Order had become stagnant, while the Sith had adapted to the new galaxy and had grown stronger because of it.

Learned from their mistakes. By the time the Jedi realised their mistake, it was too late to learn from.

I'm particularly fond of the idea that the Force willed the destruction of the Jedi so they would learn from scratch again - properly.

Yeah, it's Runt - the NEGtC picture is in the "Making of Episode III" book with the blurb about being the mascot of the concept artists.

They also designed him a special X-Wing as a gag that looked more horse-like.

Edit: a little more insight on the Palpatine's appearance thing - the original script draft said that it was the effort of maintaining the Force lightning that reveals Darth Sideous' face.

I guess he was using the Force to hide the dark side decay on a permanent basis until that point; going by his reaction after the fight, even he was semi-unaware how badly his Force usage would have deformed him over the years.

Oh, that makes sense... so Palpatine was using the Force to maintain his physical health (whether in reality or as an illusion of some sort), which should have been ravaged by what he was doing...

    Jacen Solo, anybody? :p

That said, some Jedi have obviously done the same thing... ;)

Out of curiousity, whats gonna happen to Kar Vastor and Depa? I may have not noticed Vastor's execution, but Depa is definately a loose end.

She would make a great dark side apprentice. And Vastor...if he's alive, I'm worried for Sidious and Vader.

I have a feeling Depa will get hers when the clones storm the Temple. Even though she is in a coma, she's still a Jedi and thus a threat.

I think the "new" Sith can't be killed easily because Palpatine and Skywalker are the most powerful Sith ever by far. Hell, they might be the first and second most powerful (Anakin and Palps, respectively) Forceusers period. Plus, Anakin is the Chosen One, and thus is the only one who can kill Sidious-- Yoda cannot.

EDIT: (Un)fortunately, Shatterpoint may be the last we see of Depa and Vastor. Depa will probably be killed in her comatose state; Vastor may be recruited by Palps or Vader, though I think it's unlikely.

Anyone heard any kind of update on a Ki-Adi-Mundi retcon? This is from an older Pabs post at the OS forums:

And it looks like we may have to ignore or retcon some of Ki-Adi-Mundi's backstory as the only Knight on the Council, if some of the Ep III dialogue stays to the final cut.

Well the dialogue is probably along the lines of "No non-master has ever served on the council." :)

Ah, who cares? It doesn't say in the films one way or another what his rank is...it's strictly an EU-to-EU thing.

Nothing no purist will ever care about.

Unless Palps decides to keep her literally on ice as a long-term, easily corruptible "backup" Emperor's Hand-type, going by his "Sith Army" scheme from Stover's book.

    I know it's EU to EU - that's why I'm asking here :)

Edit: Err, don't you mean film trumping EU?

Checked at the bookstore, the junior novelization has Anakin exclaiming that a non-master Jedi being appointed to the council "has never happened"; I guess this is the line that Pabs was talking about.

Ki-Adi-Mundi was only a Jedi Knight when he was appointed to the Council.

There's dozens of phantoms, and I don't mean the 21 comic strip ones, on Ziost and Korriban.
