Could all be related to Rey going to Snoke's ship.

Yes, I believe this is covering very similar ground to Snoke's "It is far more than that. It is where you are from. What you are made of. The dark side— and the light" speech isn't it?

I'd guess that this is from very early in the movie, establishing Kylo's uniqueness, only for Luke to later reveal that Rey also posesses the same qualities with his "I've seen this raw strength only once before" speech.

I think the Snoke scene is part of the vision Rey has on Ahch-To

Any good theories or solid intel on how Kylo finds out where Rey went and how to get there? Databanks? Interrogation? A mole (Holdo?) within the Resistance? Gotta be something he learns during or after the D'Qar fracas, right?

With all the talk of him "going rogue", it could be that going after Luke and Rey is, by definition, something he's pursuing on his own agenda rather than Snoke's.

In the trailer, Kylo is leading troops and gorilla walkers on Crait.

I'm just really interested in seeing when exactly Finn gets that haircut.

It must be at the end, since his hair has remained the same throughout waking up, the casino stuff, the FO infiltration, even the Crait ship he's flying sans FO Jacket is the same.

I like to think Rian meant what he said, that the movie wouldnt end with a ...? kinda thing. There's gonna be a decisive victory, or at least time for people to catch their breathes, change into official Resistance gear and even get a new haircut! Some time will have passed between Crait and whatever the ending leaves us.

2 months left...so much pressure :) TLJ is the episode that will make or break the ST but i have faith in RJ!!! Also it could retroactively enhace TFA' qualities and diminish its perceived flaws...and of course pave way for the last movie of this new trilogy..haha so much pressure and excitment...

Just as JJ has a Mystery Box, Rian has a 'no fly zone' whereby certain elements of the story will not be revealed before the movie comes out. What happens after Crait is definitely in that area. I really can't see Finn becoming a gunner on a Resistance Bomber full time so presume that this is just for a one-off mission that we have absolutely no idea about.

the line on the sides on his haircut is exactly like the one he sports in pacific rim 2 (minus the piky top and moustache or someting)...could it be reshoots? maybe he was shooting pacific rim 2 or was going to shoot it so they integrated his new haircut as a part of his final TLJ look (i believe too this is how Finn look at the very end of the movie, like the very last scenes after the clilmax)

Interesting. Is there a pic with Finn and Rey where he has the same hair cut?

I really think he has the haircut because this was filmed when Jon was doing reshoots. That's all there is to it

Yeah indeed, he still had Finn's normal haircut when he attended Celebration London. A week or so after wrapping.

He probably has a helmet on for those reshoots, so his haircut doesn't matter.

With all due respect to Paige Tico I would hope that Finn gets a better job going forward than a gunner in a bomber.

ah it's true it's a gunner attire right? do we know if he's in a bomber at some point in the movie? i remember seeing him in the cockpit of a ski speeder on crait but with his usual haircut.

That doesn't mean he ends up being a gunner on a bomber as his official "resistance job"..maybe it's just its next mission as the movie ends on some cliffhanger? And he needs a bomber.

I think he ends this movie as a gunner, but starts IX as an experienced X-Wing pilot. That leaves Poe to step out of the x-wing and take over leadership duties from Leia.

We don't know that gunners wear different gear that the flight deck crew. I kinda suspect it's all the same.

I was thinking that Finn might discover a talent for flying... maybe after flying a ski-speeder. He might be our new pilot hero as Poe steps into a leadrship position in the aresistance. That seems to have been happening already, but maybe Carrie's untimely death led them to accelerate and accentuate that?

I can see the necessity prior to Fisher's death for them to develop Poe into Leia's leadership replacement which they may have done if Leia gets captured at the end and certainly now that Fisher won't be present to film the new movie.

Assuming that Holdo doesn't turn out to be an villain/antagonist (it'd be kind of cool if she wasn't I think), and/or she does die here, then Poe does make the most sense. He's one of Leia's most trusted subordinates, he's shown personal bravery and leadership qualities, he's an experienced soldier, oh and it gives Oscar Isaac more to do, as a nice bonus.

Although I wonder if they won't just write Leia out in a more, lenient, way perhaps? Like if she doesn't die in this movie, they'll say that she died in battle offscreen in-between TLJ and Episode IX, or of an illness, or something like that. I'm not sure if they'll want the last time that we see her to be as a FO prisoner (and presumably die in their custody)? But we'll see soon enough.

You don't actually fly a ski-speeder though. It's like driving a car compared to flying an aircraft, big difference.

idk I kinda like having a lead with no piloting skills. We need more purely infantry characters. Have him be with a commando unit in IX.
