LOVED those model rockets! The problem around here was there were almost no good places for recovery...meaning there were some decent sized fields that were good for launch, but a little wind and...goodbye rocket once the chute deployed. Extremely demoralizing!
"for guys 8, 9, 10 years old" lol. Nope. No girls allowed. They couldn't possibly ride this. It's science. I had the Knight Rider one with hand brake system
The world was a better place when there were Saturday morning cartoons and annual primetime specials previewing said cartoons. Amazing.
I had a C.H.I.P.S. Big Wheel. Still very fond of that. I never had a Green Machine but those are on different level than Big Wheels - meant for older kids. That probably makes them a harder sell because older kids can ride bikes. What is this? Was it a nightly high production value history show? No way was this the over night ‘trash’ NYC was putting in TV. I really enjoyed it. Very well done. Do you remember when TV stations went off air for the night? ‘Station XYZ now concludes its broadcast day.’ Is what they’re usually say on the prerecorded outro. And when they came back on a lot of them would play something patriotic.
Speaking of retro, I have been loading up on late 70's TV shows. I have Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Love Boat, Charlie's Angels and Three's Company. I get them pretty cheap used. My sister got me Happy Days for my birthday a few years ago.
Cool. I meant season sets. I sort of forgot usually the entire series ru could be purchased in a box set. I think those will become valuable again in the future. (Individual seasons and entire series). With streaming the discs became almost valueless. It’s clear now future streaming content will be limited in ways owning a physical copy won’t be. Those physical copies will become more rare and then increase in value.
I grew up in the 70's, so for me it's nostalgia. In Charlie's Angels, they are in a hospital. There are no computers, the nurses wear hats. it's like a time machine.
