    If you're a horror fan you really have to check out Lovecraft. All modern horror owes something to him.

    From the blog, "Rope of Silicon":

    "U also was caught off-guard after they aggressively courted Guillermo Del Toro, the filmmaker behind "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Hellboy." The studio gave him a first-look deal, picked up a sequel to "Hellboy" with a budget of more than $80 million, and even bought the rights to his dream project, the H.P. Lovecraft epic, "At the Mountains of Madness."

    But U brass was stunned to suddenly see Del Toro emerge as the likely director of the next two "Hobbit" movies for New Line and MGM. That would lock him down for four straight years in New Zealand.

    Langley acknowledges, "We're in discussions with how to rectify that with Guillermo."

    Del Toro's dream project; I bet he's not alone, either.

    I'm currently reading ATMOM. I'm interested to see where the story goes and how adaptable it will be to a full length feature.

    So it appears we'll have to wait quite awhile for ATMOM.

    I have since read The Silver Key, which I've learned is part of a cycle of stories. It's very interesting in how it circles around in the life of the protagonist, and I'm seeking out the rest of the stories in the cycle:

    * Memory (1919)
    * The White Ship (1919)
    * The Cats of Ulthar (1920)
    * The Doom that Came to Sarnath (1920)
    * Celephaïs (1920)
    * The Other Gods (1921)
    * The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath (1926)
    * The Silver Key (1926)
    * Through the Gates of the Silver Key (1932-33)

    Wow. If the film is anywhere near as creepy, interesting and stylish as the teaser, that movie is going to be awesome.

    Dispite my dislike of the man, I've always wanted to read his novels as the mythos is truly fascinating.

    In a lot of ways, Lovecraft surpasses Poe, Matheson, and Stephen King in making horror that's truly terrifying.

    Does anyone have any suggestions for a good online used book retailer. I've used abebooks.com, which is great, but it doesn't have everything. In trying to compile a complete works of Lovecraft (among others) I've come across some hard to find works, such as this. Any suggestions for good sites like abebooks.com would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Quite often you can get it on the net, if it's an older work:

    Is this it?

    There was an anthalogy, or at least I think it was an anthalogy, in which one short story featured an artifact which was in the form of a human heart that would grant immortality if placed within the body. I lost the book somewhere and I do not recall the name of the story. Help?

    While ATMOM is not one of my favorite Lovecraft works it is Del Torro, and Cameron's involvement is interesting. I imagine the production value will be quite high.
