That gives them plenty, actually. Positions on all the major trade routes, major shipyards negotiably allied, and some mobile firepower to use. Oversectors and Grand Admirals. Giving them Geonosis would link them directly to the Death Star III, would it not?

    Add this....

"The destruction of our latest Death Star was but a temporary setback"

3 years after Endor? GODV took place one year after Endor, so you've confused me. Or you're confusing the Moff Central Committee with the Advisors. The Grand Moffs were all executed or imprisoned by Isard, either way, per the NEC.

Hmmmm. The fall of Coruscant and Isard herself alienates much of the Empire and drops it neatly in Zsinj's lap, who promptly removes all the shipyards in his domain to Daothmir....thus demilitarising a third of the galaxy when Daothmir is destroyed, and bumping Bilgringi, Sluis Van, Mon Calamari, Ord Trasi and Yaga Minor to major targets with the damage to Kuat. Gives TTT more sense, if that is remembered.

The way it reads, mind you, the Empire retook a vast chunk of the galaxy, when 8 ABY is represented as defeats immense for the Empire, yet they had a pair of major victories at Storinal and Hast, and only a pair of major defeats at Kuat and Rhinnal, which they lose in this time period per Coruscant and the Core worlds.

Wholeheartedly agreeing the system of the Empire seemingly died after Coruscant, indeed.

It seems to have also entirely switched off for a small time period post-Endor, actually, when it loses Chandrila, Corellia, Duro, Fondor, Kuat, Balmorra and Recopia bullet-fashion, and of course uprisings clear from Endor around the Outer Rim to Mon Calamari shattering the Empire for at least a month, which meshes well with the setting in the BHT, Marvel comics, and the implied opinion in the SE OT.

Before remeshing by a few months post-Endor, which sees the Empire seemingly lead lunges at the Cron, Kashyyyk (freed during the Marvel comics, Imperial under Syn later), Selos, Tandarkin (sp) and perhaps Khamdar(? - where the VSD Pestage was sent), when the process is seemingly restored, and then repaired further after the Moff Committee crisis.

Kuat seemingly restored to Imperial control post-BHT (NEC) and then attacked by Zann and the Alliance in EaW(FoC spoilers) before settling as Imperial by at least 8 months post-Endor.

Typo-Meant to say three years after Yavin.
