TESB seems the most serious IMO because it's the most tonally consistent. SW movies started having issues with tonal consistently in ROTJ... which got worse in the PT (until ROTS when they nipped it in the bud to some degree...although I'd argue it's less tonally consistent than of the OT or TFA)

 

After watching TFA a second time this afternoon, I agree that both Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley portrayed their characters with skill. Kylo is a complex villain. He does have that something that makes me watch him. Especially how he moves. He appears to be taller than average and an interview had him at 6'3" if that is accurate. He moves like a slender fit tall man. He's got IT for me at least. I realize today that what he was fighting against on the cat walk when he met his father, was the will to kill. The first viewing, I thought he was battling against the dark side. Now I understand he was asking for "grace" and the courage from the dark side to take this step.

I liked Finn and heard him say he was taken from his parents or home at an early age. He doesn't know where he's from or who he is. I wondered at his bravery at making the choice to step away from a life of a stormtropper. Could he be Lando's son? He is strong with the force in his own way.

I thought all the actors fit and were each likeable as well. I always wondered at Han's popularity, he doesn't say much that has depth, he sort of smirks, makes jokes and has fun one-liners. He seems a bit superficial to me. I cannot think what Leia saw in him. Sexy guy?

 

I think Daisy was the best actor in the movie. John was pretty good. Adam, he was good with the mask on, but didn't like him that much when it was off (when emotional) much preferred it being someone else to play that part, but he wasn't horrible or anything like that.

I think Driver had the toughest job and totally nailed it. I didn't like the character of Finn as much as the other new ones but I think Boyega did well anyways. Ridley and Isaac are great.

 

He's a rogue with a heart of gold, that's why.

And he's actually pretty intelligent, in a more practical than philosophical way, of course. That attracts Leia, who probably gets tired of endless political and ideological debates.
