That for the recent shows outside The Mandalorian and Kenobi, stat Wars tv shows been on low viewership, so not many are watching.

The Plagueis and Palpatine show was being made but not anymore.

Im not sure how Ian would know there was a palpatine and Plagueis show being made. Chances are even if he was involved he wouldnt be involved enough to be in the know about a project that likely didnt get far into being made.

I wonder if he is going by various word of mouth spread around over the appearance in the Alcolyte. As the actors really ain't that in the know about what Disney are doing.

We wil likely know some numbers soon. When a season starts, if Disney is relatively happy with the numbers, they usually announce numbers for the first 5 days (they did with The Acolyte) or the week.

If Disney doesn't announce anything about the numbers for the first three episodes on Monday or Tuesday, it wouldn't be good.

Looking at Twilight Company, I could definitely see potential for a Star Wars Band of Brothers style show, particularly if it does the year between Endor and Jakku, which has gotten some books and comics but has been focused on by the shows and movies which have larger audiences.

Or...anyone remember Space Above and Beyond? Might also be a good source for inspiration.

I bet we will get ok numbers. So nothing good or bad and that will mean end of shows like this. And we get more shows that fans have wanted for long. Like Darth Vader.
You dont like opposite view, lol

I mean, we have Andor season 1 positions for Nielsen, which weren't good for a Star Wars show.

Truth is Star Wars is hurting in Viewership, compare Andor to The Mandalorian or Kenobi.

Right, but since then, Andor has developed into a fan favorite and word of mouth has drawn in non-Star Wars fans. So as of yet, there’s no solid basis for saying its numbers will be the same as S1. Let’s wait and see, and not just assume poor viewership numbers.

That's a useless comparison. Completely different formats, completely different styles, completely different characters.

The Mandalorian was the first show, and it just hit all the right notes, plus it had the advantage of the phenomenon that was "Baby Yoda". Kenobi brought the return of a fan-favourite (character and actor) with a much bigger standing than all the other shows, so of course it had bigger viewership. It's like being surprised that TFA was a bigger movie than Rogue One.

Things also change after release. TPM was a much bigger movie than ROTS at the time of their releases. Yet ROTS manages a far bigger re-release and is generally deemed the far better movie. Just like Rogue One has developed its standing over time.

Andor's style makes it unlikely to ever deliver numbers like The Mandalorian does. A serious show of political intrigue for older audiences compared to a fun adventure for (almost) all ages, yeah no, that's just completely different. Doesn't matter if its movies or shows, the latter will have a much bigger pool to draw from. There is a reason why the Marvel stuff worked so well. There is a reason why it was Barbie and Oppenheimer, not Oppenheimer and Barbie, who drew in the audiences.

It also makes little sense to claim that Star Wars is hurting in viewership, when The Mandalorian S3 came out after Andor and basically did its usual numbers.

I have worked out the differences like this Mando, boba fett and obi wan are massive appeal SW fantasy with well known characters or like skeleton crew have a massive family appeal... Ashoka is heavily dependent on the younger /PT/CW/rebels generation star wars demographic... Acolyte I think tried to tap into those heavily interested in the EU/written word lore bit then lost out to those who disagreed with the lore.
If Andor has a problem is that although it has OT mass appeal it's style is so different it will put off quite a few casual viewers as you need to watch it as of it's a Shakespeare play. If PT was like a greek tragedy told in grand sweeping motifs .and the OT was like a cowboy film crossed with flash Gordon and lord of the rings.....you really have to watch and listen to Andor as a work of intense art or a great political orator..not entertainment

The Acolyte, Skeleton Crew and Andor had little Viewership. The Acolyte for cancelled, Skeleton Crew likley not to get a season 2. Andor is lucky its 2 seasons with its huge budget. Book of Boba Fett never getting a season 2 and Tem is now out of work from Star Wars. The Mandalorian everyone loves so no surprise it kept going strong become a movie. And Andor appeal to older audience and not many teenagers like i said with its big adult themes. And many just put off by the first few episodes.

Yes it's like taking kids to a Shakespeare production or a hard edged documentary. It's so rewarding if you're really into the lore and the inner workings of both rebellion and empire ...why some hardcore fans love it cos it's so deep and intimate but other hardcore fans this is not their childhood...but it's kinda what I imagined.. particularly after I saw the deleted scenes from the original film...you just cant half watch this you need to immerse yourself..like listening to an album with headphones with the lights off

So we missed out on yet another possibility for some greatness, because of Disney's purchase.... Sad.
