That's a really nice tree. Hopefully we'll see it grow some more branches someday.

The placement of Taryn and Trista Zel near Hogrum and Elliah Chalk reminded me of something I was pondering: is it possible that Hogrum and Elliah, given that they're of Hapan descent (and maybe royalty,) are the grandchildren of Zekk and Taryn Zel? I think they got together in a cancelled novel and maybe were a thing in Fate of the Jedi, too. Almost all royal Hapans we've seen have red-gold hair and green eyes, but Hogrum has neither, not to mention his Force-sensitivity which the Hapan royal family generally abhorred until Isolder and Teneniel got married.

We also have name like Farlander, which is not from Tatooine, like Sunrider. My interpretation is that that kind of names, together with names like Eclipse, are spacer names, so people who have them come from (at least once) spacer families.

ah great family tree.. lovely memories with some rare names.

I wish one could add to it Kirana Ti, wasn't she distantly related to Teneniel somehow?

Yub Zekk married one Zel twin. Should be also added!

Does Hogrum's Force sensitivity imply he and Elliah are descended of Allana Djo Solo maybe? Sure Forcesensitivity is not always hereditary and can come in unsuspected but Ithought general consensus was that Ania Solo is of Allana descent as the tree indicates, which means someone left Hapes or the throne behind at some point in generations in between. Yet Hogrum's ancestry implies, if tied to them, that did not happen. So is Hogrum related to Ania? And Elliah too? Did royal distant cousins get married with Roan and Elliah? Its legal and nothing bad about it if so.

We don’t know how many children Allana has. For all we know Ania has a first cousin on the throne of Hapes and her parent inherited that Skywalker-Solo wanderlust we’re all too familiar with.

Speaking of Ania, that brings up earlier discussions we had as to her parentage and ancestry and how she doesn't fit the family tree.

Also given Hogrum Chalk is Eliiahs brother... does that mean Elliahs maiden name is Elliah Chalk? Hogrum was not married right? So Chalk is family name? Or if Hogrum was or had been married, did he take the wifes name (Hapan customs may run counter to real world ones given female superiorty). Then Elliah and Hogrum could be Djo Solo's or Zel's!

I say that she's a Solo by the way of Danielle Kieran.

Why doesn’t Ania fit? Is it an age problem?

I assumed that Chalk is the maiden name and that their father married a Mrs. Chalk. This should work for both the Solo and Zel hypotheses. But that reminds me: why is Allana’s name Djo Solo and not Solo Djo if Hapan mothers take precedent?

Danielle is no Solo. Her mom lied to her and she chased a dream ever since. If her mom were Legends Qi'ra... is it Qi'ra Kieran? I like the sound of it... make it canon!

Or why is it Solo at all... that spoils the purpose of keeping her daddy a secret :p

Given she is around Solofamily most of the time I guess they name her Djo Solo while in proper Hapan its the other way around. Then again, Courtship established that Ta'a chume is the title, not the name of the old lady. Yet later books treat it as both. Tenel Ka never set her name aside upon ascension to the throne, nor did her mother. And if chume is title and Ta'a name, is it first or last name? And which gets removed upon ascension? Or is Ta'a a new queens name like Amidala for Padmé?

Djo Solo or Solo Djo may be just an outsider naming convention both, given in Hapan custom itself as royal family her title counts more now. Erenada Allana chume'ta (Djo Solo)?

What I worry more about is, she has red hair like her mom but is always depicted as brownhaired in art, which only was her undercover haircolor as Amelia! Wish we'd have at least one natural pic of her.

Her mother did not tell her about her father according to the Wook', Danielle figured it out herself after finding out that her mother had been close with the young Han Solo.

Well she could be wrong... she has no proof. Or a young Thrackan Sal-Solo had a fling with her mom and she never had the name but image searches turned up Han's Wanted poster from the Empire and Jabba. Bingo.. that must be how she found him instead!

There is nothing in Legends that say that she is wrong and we know Han had some girlfriends before ANH. Pre-respectable do he seems like the type who may have left some bastards behind.

Ania doesn't fit, because she has no recognizable place in the Djo-Solo-Fel family tree. Marasiah has never heard of her, and something in her backstory shocked or surprised her.

One explanation that has been put forward is that her family left Hapan politics, though I find this explanation unconvincing because Marasiah should have known of any exiled or wayward members of the family who could have been Ania's parents.

Since she doesn't fit the Allana or Fel branches then easily, this presents an opportunity for lots of more tin foil theories and exploration as to her ancestry.

    This is a fun read - thanks @Golbolco ! :D

As the co-author of The Essential Guide to Warfare, I'm glad to see people are having fun with the Royal Solo stuff we put in there, though whether or not Han is actually descended from them is something we left deliberately ambiguous.

(Back when I had any Star Wars ambitions of my own, the foremost of them was to write a novel about the earlier Bereth(r)on, hereditary Jedi Lord of Corellia with the Force-sensitivity-of-a-brick in 1,000 ABY - though whether he's even a Solo is something I left even more ambiguous :p )...

The implied issue there, which Han doesn't really figure out at the time, is that Tiion and Thrackan have a social status in certain circles that's based on being the heirs of the monarchy - whether or not that's actually true, Han is certainly "dynastically" senior in terms of descent from Denn. And probably figures that since this is so important to Thrackan, he won't get in the way.

I'm sure there are at least still images of the actual ANH cutscene where Red Leader tells Luke he flew with Skyguy in the Clone Wars.

And now for something... completely different! :p

Over in the Remnant-vs-Empire thread I was pondering one of James Luceno's more obscure and subtextual continuity nods. In Darth Plagueis, he assassinated Palpatine's legitimate siblings in 65 BBY when they were all younger than seventeen, but we know from the Dark Empire Sourcebook that Palpatine still had a "distant" great-niece, Ederlathh Pallopides, who was proposed a figurehead empress in an unsuccessful Empire/New Republic peace-deal after Endor - as Luceno's not the sort to miss a continuity detail, I suspect the intended implication is that she's descend from an illegitimate half-sibling, and the novel refers to an appropriate liason with a mistress whose brother was a candidate for King of Naboo in 65 ABY in opposition to the Veruna faction. Now, here's the fun bit - as Luceno also implies that the monarch of Naboo is chosen from a number of local princely lines, and shows that Palpatine's dad lives in the next-door villa to the Naberries in the lake country, there's a chance that Palpatine's implied half-sibling is one of Padmé's parents (quite apart from what the lake villa implies about their real social status, Palpatine suggests the Naberries are prestigious enough to make the monarchy hereditary). If I'm following these hints correctly, then Padmé is Palpatine's illegitimate niece, and Ederlathh Pallopides would be a daughter of one of Sola's kids who we see in AotC.

Also, Qi'ra is Salla Zend. This is practically canon. They're both the old girlfriend of Han's who was on the Falcon during that 12-parsec Kessel Run.

More seriously, I still think Ania is simply Jaina in a funk, possibly in a clone body to explain why she hasn't aged and why she's claiming to be several generations down the line. The reason she doesn't fit is that she's unknown to either the Fel family or the Felpire's intelligence files.

Random thought, provoked entirely by this thread - can we retcon Beru's age down enough to make her Vader's half-sister?

@Thrawn McEwok Well Pooja Naberrie became Senator of Naboo in the Imperial Senate... so Naberries at Imperial Court on Coruscant is already established. Add a kid and done! I love this idea!

But what if Palpatine indeed is somehow Anakins Father... as well as Padmés uncle.... that'd make the Skywalker lineage even more royally mingled!

Why would you do that to Beru though? Besides A'sharad Hett still is Vaders halfbrother... so Darth Krayt objects politely!

I'm glad you bring up the House of Palpatine, @Thrawn McEwok ! I have notes to address it down the line, but now that you point out the problem with Ederlathh Pallopides I might need to review Darth Plagueis again and see what works. If your hypothesis is correct, would we assume that Pallopides is an adopted name just like Amidala is?

On Ania and Jaina: I don't like how Jaina's can has been kicked down the road for nearly 20 years now, but I think your theory is fairly plausible. @Darth Invictus is right: unless Ania is a bastard child of Allana's child, how does she exist? Where does she come from, and why is her last name Solo? However: I will throw out that Legacy in general gives a general idea that the Skywalker-Solo-Fel clan didn't really stay tight after all those years, maybe because of political division, maybe because of personal struggles, who knows. I don't think Kol was getting invited to Fel family barbecues, though. There's a lot of possibilities for the origin of Ania that explain away the Fel Empire's lack of knowledge on her.

I'm almost ready to give a treatise on the Larses, actually! Collectively we already ran the gamut with Shmi I think, so I want to talk about the next best thing and how I think it plays into the meta meaning of the Skywalker genealogy.

A few ideas I threw out earlier included.

    A descendant of

A love child of Jacen and another woman(possibly Danni or one of his other love or potential love interests)
a love child of jaina and zekk
a love child of han or leia(thus an affair or some kind)
    a descendant of a clone
a descendant of Anakin solo(and Tahiri though that make little to no sense)
or some combination thereof of secret love childs and clones, though perhaps a generation removed from the main sky solos(or the main sky solos).

Some of these are more plausible then others, but given Marasiah didn't know of Ania or her parents means they are all at least distantly possible.

Ah, but have you considered the identity of the clone template for the Vong's Slayers? I've thought about this one a lot: Anakin died inside of a sort of cloning facility, after all. I like to think that Darth Vua of the Essential Guide to Warfare was betrothed to Tahiri before his capture by the Sith, making it possible that all sorts of Anakin children could be running around on Zonama Sekot and beyond.

To add to the clone madness going on in here:

Crosscurrent and Riptide had clones of prominent characters that had kids. So why not next generation as well? Thrawn continued collecting DNA long after Palpatine indeed! Or else he'd not had some prominent Jedi of Lukes first class among them that were not tied back to Palpatine.

Then there is that Bakuran company that tried to do HRD replica droid versions of Jaina and others in NJO times. Lookalikes aplenty around.

Imagine Anakin Solo surviving SBS by Vong biomedtech as unbelieveabe as it is and ever since wore an ogglith masquer as to not be recognised in plain sight! Or kept pretending he is a Vong, infiltrating them further... to what end and fate? What if Ganner never made it to Jacen and it was Anakin that impersonated Ganner to go out with a bang? Or is Anakin posing as a Vong and trying to get close to Shimmra and Onimi? Did Vergere know or train both him and Jacen? Heck... maybe Anakin is Nom Anor now. At least he has to believe that for whatever reason his family needs to think him dead for him to succeed with whatever mission he is on. At least until Tahiri finds him finally.

I doubt Anakin lives, he loves his family too much to have let the events of DNT-LOTF occur without intervening. At least indirectly.

What about secret love child’s. There are gaps in the novel timeframe of publishing. Times where jacen and Jaina may have had liaisons and children we don’t know of?

Jaina and Zekk, jacen and say Danni quee or someone else.

Someone descended from the solos but not of the official line.

Or the real Jacen Solo turned up in 45 ABY after the events of Crucible and went on to create a new family line (if you believe that Caedus was a Jacen clone all along - possible replacement dates being 25 ABY prior to the Vong War, 27 ABY after the Mission to Myrkr and before 35 ABY).

I think we are a bit to far into wild speculations here.
