Is it just me or doesn't this At Attin as secret mint possibly explain why galactic economy is such a mess- like most people are quite poor while there are surely all sorts of resources in the Galaxy.

Maybe sith used secret mint to hide big monetary transfers. If there is really more money on the move than there officially is, it should be possible to keep large spending in secret. Like if we really need to fund two armies for the Clone Wars, other weird cloning projects, two Death Stars, Starkiller base and then entire fleet and secret army and sith cult on Exogol you need helluva lot of money and resources.

My random theory is after the Nihil attacked Starlight Beacon, Chancellor Soh created these hidden gems to continue her "Great Works". If the heart of the mystery is not in some way related to the High Republic Chancellor, then why use the term "Great Works." As mentioned elsewhere, Rennod's symbol is close to the Nihils. Now those were scary pirates.

Wonder if during the showdown Supervisor will mention that At Attin's original purpose was to help the Republic to counter the Banking Clan's financial influence, and the attack on jewel planets was orchestrated by Muuns.

I think so too. I also think they're a character we've met already, hence the distorted hologram of the Captain we saw in ep 5.

It’s Sleazebaggano. He went home, rethought his life, and with patience, perseverance, and a little skill, worked his way up the galactic financial sector ladder until he landed a sweet job administering At Attin’s mint.

And while he was at it, he falsified records to spin the more flattering story that his real name was "Sel'Sabagno" all along and "Sleazebaggano" was just a scurrilous nickname.

Were the Jewels purpose to preserve the Republic's culture? At Attin was a mint. But what of the other worlds? Maybe one was a library and university teaching STEM and collecting books and scientific knowledge. Another was a planetary wide museum teaching and collecting art, music and the like.

This concept of "hidden jewels" is certainly the most inovative thing we saw in Disney's SW.
It's a short cut to skip the Skywalker saga.
See, the people at At Atin simply doesn't know anything about Clone Wars, Empire, Palpatine, Darth Vader, New Republic, etc. And the same can be said about the GFFA in relation of the "jewels".
What was the point in keep minting ? Old Republic Credits? Who took them?
And what about the barrier? Who did create it? And the others jewels also had one ? What happened at At Achram ? Are the others jewels really wasted or still in the hiding ?
Ovearll there's material to cover many seasons even some movies if this concept is well developed.

The "great work" will just turn out to be running the mint. The rhetoric of greatness here is just typical corporate, governmental propaganda speech.

My theory is that SM-33 is actually the pirate captain Tak Rennod himself, as reference to Goto in Kotor II... not sure but just an idea. Maybe Tak Rennod once existed but it seems unlikely he is still alive. However I do welcome other twists.

No, it's not SM33. It's the rat that lives in SM33's eye socket.

Why use the phrase "Great Work" if not related to other canon references to the Hight Republic's Chancellor Soh's "Great Work"? This show has anything but sloppy in its storytelling. I think At Attin is a method established to fund further Great Works, but after the Pirates / Nihil destroyed Starlight Beacon, it was hidden, along with other resource planets to secretly continue such Great Works.

My thoughts right now - and, please, let us all acknowledge that I do have a tiny brain with a maybe smidge of actual processing power - are that the Great Work is a planet-wide volcanic system that spews molten precious metals that a long ago force-user, recognizing the societal value and usefulness of abundant raw materials that contribute to the peace and safety of the galactic order, tamed and engineered the planetary natural system in order to assist the Old Republic for financial purposes and the production of raw materials. Like the frayed edges of Kh'ymm‘s astrogration chart of the Jewels of the Old Republic, the Jewels today are similarly frayed, as seen symbolically on At Achrann, but not everything has been lost to time as evidenced by At Attin’s seeming modernity. But here we are, in a time and place in the galaxy that has experienced so much upheaval, and with such chaos comes gaps and losses to institutional memory, that no one can not be blamed for forgetting how galactic operations were once financed. In the race to return the galaxy to some semblance of the level of peace and safety not seen since the Old Republic, the question is, which organization has the temerity to not only keep At Attin’s secrecy safe, but to also gain from its natural system while keeping the planet’s populace unaware of who they are actually working for? Can it be the New Republic? The First Order? Mandalorians? San Tekkas? The Starros Family? Crimson Dawn? Hutts? Or will the pirates finally break through the barrier, plunder the Great Work, destroy its community of committed workers, and leave the remains of At Attin as a desolate reminder of what could have been?

There's gotta be a final confrontation besides Jod and Rennod correct? We are assuming someone is going to show up from behind the curtain, em holoprojector and face off with Jod. The pirates are just outside the barrier waiting for a response but do they have the means to get past this barrier? If so, we shall have a final battle against the AT-Attin security droids. If not, it may just stay personal with trying to capture a lightsaber & Force weilding Jod.

It was disappointing there was no real revelations in the last episode. I don't know who voiced supervisor droid, but it did sound bit like Palpatine, maybe the accent was enough...

I've enjoyed most of this series, but the finale just left me feeling wtf?

What was At-Attin for? Were they cut off when the Empire took over? Forgotten ?

    Were the credits worth anything?
