Oh, that's just dumb, The Rising Storm isn't out until 6 July.

 

It's out today just got it from amazon uk. The Rising Storm that is.

 

Oh, it got brought forward. Still seems stupid to spoil a book just out for the sake of another product, be better to write a non-spoiler synopsis instead.

So I finished The Rising Storm the other day and I'm so confused, it didn't read like Dee was captured. It actually read like she escaped. Do I need to re-read it again?

 

Spoiler: The Rising Storm

Her being captured probably happens at the beginning of the audiodrama. Last we saw her, Loden and Bell tried and failed to stop her ship from leaving, I believe.

I assume we'll see Pan Eyta again in this story. He was pretty forgettable in Light of the Jedi, I'm glad he got a bit more attention this time.

I kinda liked Pan in LOTJ with his whole dapper vibe, but I got a little bit tired of him by the end of Rising Storm -- I was prepared to enjoy his plans biting him in the ass for good more than once and didn't get it, and by the time he makes his final escape, already dying from poison, I wasn't sure what the point of him surviving yet again would be. If he survived to show up in this, I'm good with that, just don't see what more use he would be to the "main" plot. Anyway, just now read they synopsis of this one and it sounds good. Lourna's by far the most interesting of the Tempest Runners, really, and with the Nihil undergoing a pretty much enforced reorganization, it'll be cool to see what she does.

Not quite sure this is the proper place for this question, but with the sort of renaissance of audio dramas SW has seen these past few years - first Dooku: Jedi Lost, then Doctor Aphra, and now THR: Tempest Runner - I'm wondering whether or not there is a chance for Lucasfilm/Random House Audio to make radio adaptations of the the PT like Brian Daley wrote for the OT. I'm sure Cavan Scott would do an excellent job, but it would somehow seem appropriate to try to ask Daley's old friend James Luceno first if he'd be willing to take a crack at it. Would there be much fan interest at this point? Could "#ReleasetheDaley/LucenoCutofthePT" ever start trending?

Either way, very much looking forward to Tempest Runner (already pre-ordered).

 

I'm not convinced there would be enough interest in Prequel Trilogy audiodramas compared to original stories. When the radio-plays came out you couldn't pull a device out of your pocket and play the films whenever you felt like it.

 

I still want them to do the Great Sith War as an audio drama.

If you're US-based, yes; but outside of it the options tend to seriously reduce.

Edit - not as bad as I thought, alternative UK options are Hive or Kobo. That's better than it was.

Still wish they'd just flog the MP3 file for direct download.

Do we know if there will be a book of the script as well? Right now Amazon UK just lists the audio version.

 

Not yet. It was unusual to get one for Dooku Jedi Lost, don't think there was one for Aphra so it could go either way.

If there is one, probably be early 2022.
