Please go here, all you have to do is click the Give Free Food button every day... simple as that. If you use the search engine at the bottom left hand side of the page each search helps fund 1/2 cup of food for the hungry. :)

I should add that it was partly my fault for destracting you anyhow though! [face_blush]

Worse thing I ever did in the kitchen is leaning on the stove with my hand on one of the rings that had just been turned off... branded a lovely spiral burnmark on my hand for a while I can tell you :_|

OR Cooking some braising steak for ages in the oven and then putting it on the top of the stove on a ring I had forgotten to turn off thus shattering the casserole dish!

Making bread with the wrong flour..... er that was nice....... NOT!

I shant go into the disasters I had when I first got my microwave [face_blush]

My mate couldn't cook a pizza either Yoshi. She's got an Aga at home, so the first time she tried to use an electric oven, she put the frozen pizza in and then half an hour later wondered why it was still cold... :p

And my ex-flatmate put a pain du chocolat (sp?) in the oven to warm it up. An hour later she remembered to take out the small lump of charcoal that had formed...

Sounds like my moms cooking that does... I'm just glad my dad could cook!

Although my dads fave trick was getting up at 4am (when he was working shifts) and making toast and falling asleep only for the smoke alarn to go off and then he'd wake us up by charging up and down the hall fanning it with a cushion to get it to stop [face_laugh]

Ah well, at least i'm not the only one then Westy [face_relieved] :p

I'm also the person that puts the washing machine onto a cycle, then remembers i hadn't put any washing in the machine [face_blush]

What a waste of water :(

@ Brainfeaster - I dunno, last i heard the chef was living as a hermit in the Amazon somewhere. But ya know what, i still feel his presence sometimes. :p

    Hi

Thanks for the link D_Q. Its a great site which had a noble cause which everyone should try to support.

I recommend that everyone clicks the button on the page to give some food and also take a look at the associated rainforest site to try to save the worlds forests.

Forgive me for being cynical (and I haven't visited the site) but it is probably all a big con. Most of these things appeal to ppl's guilt or need to feel that they have done something "good".

I don't dispute that there are good and deserving causes, I am just more circumspect about who and what they claim to be. Don't be so gullible as to believe everything you read or hear.

But what have you got to lose... all of 1 second to click a button. If it was a con you would have to pay or sign up for something!

The point is, why do something because you feel you should or compelled out of some unfounded guilt or responsibility? By all means contribute to good causes etc. but do so for the right reasons.

i'm going to make another one of my rare appearences here to state how the hunger site and the rainforest site work.

when you click the "give free food" button, you get taken to a page that thanks you for your donation, and lists several advertisements for web based companies.

the way it works, is that these companies pay to advertise on the sites, but instead of paying money to the site's owners, they pay for their share of all the free food that gets sent out.

i seriously doubt that sponsering companies as credible as egg.com and Ask Jeeves would knowingly support such a con.

and if it is a con? so what? no-ones downloading viruses onto your computer, and there are no credit card details to be given.if anyone here refuses to visit the site just because they think it might be a con, are very, very selfish not to give up 30 seconds of their time to visit a site that might actually be a real cause.
