You know you're a geek when you are so impressed with American packaging that you bring garbage home for souvenirs.

Was it Kevin that grabbed the Twizzlers wrapper, and James who was in love with the 3L *soda* bottle....or vice versa?

 

YOu know both of you are geeks when you are debating what makes you a geek and listing it.

 

I can't be that bad...you haven't added me to the *Geek List* yet!

 

you know your a geek when you wish you could put people on ignore by clicking a button, save text in conversations, mute the room or half a dozen things you can do in chat.

 

You know you're a geek when you're entire club goes to another country and one of the higlights of the weekend is when everyone claqmours into the action figures section of the Wal mart and has a blast.

 

Not to mention the collectors will give up any amount of money to buy that one figure in the U.S. they don't want to wait 4 months to buy in Canada.

 

or getting your contact in that country to ship you things you cant get in your own country.

if you guys are all so 'geeky' maybe you can help me out

I've got an ATI AIW 8500. The fan on it more or less rolled over and died yesterday and I need to have it replaced ASAP. It's gotta be an ATI fan otherwise I'm going to have to rip the heat sink off the chip which could damage the chip, or the card, or both, and I guarentee will void my warentee. Just thinking about it will void my warentee. Does anyone have any idea how I can get a new one?

This pisses me off because this has to be a common problem, yet ATI doesn't sell them on their website or have any information on where to get a new one and to just call and ask costs money.

EDIT: It doesn't help my anger any that the card's only about 8 months old.

 

My friend had an 8500 right and right before he replaced it with a 9000 and hacked it into being a 9700, the fan conked out. I believe he just pried one off an old ATI card and put it on in place of his crummy one Not sure about actual video card fans being sold as replacements. Then again there's that whole warranty thing.

I would...but like i keep saying I am not a regular geek...i am a geek with about 300lbs behind me and a nasty temper when you get in my face.

 

I can too admit I own *almost* every episode of sailor moon and will buy the remaining few when they're released and I have money.

I have wasted a LOT of ink and paper, on sheet music, episode guides (that were definitely unnessesary), pictures, lyrics....I think that's it. lol.

 

I must definately be a geek. For almost all of my Star Wars board games (which are a lot) I have two copys: one to use, and one still sealed in plastic. (not to mention all of the action figures and movie posters...)

...and you have them going for a whole 15 minutes or more that we're [i]ice farmers[/i] from Canada, eh? ...and you know that the ice that you buy in those bags at the store? We grow those, eh? ...and that the rich farmers, they have this whole assembly line thing going, eh? Real fancy like...

 

If I do not classify as a geek then no one does.

Here's the proof. We are currently setting up for a film shoot at the School today and we are taking a little break. Just prior to writing this message my professor snuck in behind me and read the title to this thread and went away lighting...the fact that I have nothing better to do with my time then to check what new geeks have joined just goes to show you i am the biggest geek of all.

I drool over computer case mods and hardware like many men drool over those thingys that you sit in and press the accelerator to move around places...I mean cars.

I also know what a thumb screw is. I know what you probably think it is, and you are not even close.
