Ken, what can I do for you to change your vote to include Le Gendarme Et Les Gendarmettes?

I haven't sent my list in yet, but I will only potentially cave to public protestations because I probably won't read DMs

We don’t do those. The best you can hope for is a hand on your entrance.

I'd wish all the lists were made public.

Can we submit another list? Like an extra 10 if need be?

Jesus wept people it's 20 movies that will be allocated arbitrary points to be compiled into a list of 100 entries representing the relative aggregate tastes of the entire forum and, by virtue of representing the group, technically representing no one. It's not a contract. No one is going to ask or care about how you voted in as little as six months. You do not need to qualify your list with additional entries so we know you've watched more than 20 movies that you enjoy in your entire lifetime. Stop.

Edit: This isn't even the only arbitrary ranking of favorite films thread here, this is just the only one where the end goal isn't your own list.

I’d say put up as many lists here in this thread as you want if only to confuse and mislead us. But you can only submit one list to @Adam of Nuchtern

I’m going to submit my second list soon, it’ll be my second tier picks after top 20 through to top 50. Then I’ll make my third list. (!4 third tier, of below top 50 through to top 80.

My top 20 list is Disney's 1975 box office smash hit "Escape to Witch Mountain," and nothing else.

    I like this link.

Im seeing a lot of movies we forget about now. Bourne movies - has anyone mentioned those?

Cloud Atlas. The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Bad Santa. The Brothers Bloom. Forrest Gump. Love Actually. Hot Fuzz. In the Loop. Nixon. Kingdom of Heaven. Any Harry Potter movies. Office Space. Tropic Thunder. Edward Scissorhands. The producers. Boogie Nights.

No note of the Bourne movies as far as I can see. Office Space was on my list though and The Producers was beaten by Blazing Saddles (just).

I would guess that based on the demographic in the JCC most of us have hit a level of maturity (age) where films with staying power hit rather than films of the here and now

Harry Potter is in many respects tarnished by the creator

Crucially though, I would guess that a favourite is quite often influenced by how you feel at the time it was written. If I was asked to rewrite mine now, I'd doubt it would be the same 20, I would guess that 5-10 of them would change
