Try as I might I can't get a UK time. A cinema attendant told me "off the record" that due to the massive crash of all the main cinema chain's websites on TFA release day they are deliberately not releasing the time so people trickle in more gradually. This is just some random guy so maybe not true, but if that's the case I'm not impressed at all and im going to feel compelled to pull an all-nighter.

To be fair that sounds realistic, no exact time plus it being really early hours of the morning probably will reduce traffic a bit (or just make more people sit there hitting refresh for longer [face_laugh]). I'd also wager it has something to do with the ticket sales being linked to the trailer which is linked to the football so whilst they may have a rough time they don't have an exact time.

I am buying Tickets Tomorrow Morning for my entire Family, Mom, Dad, Sister, Nephew, and me for the Sunday December 17th Matinee before I see Blade Runner! So essentially I am buying Tickets Tuesday Morning before I see Blade Runner because inevitably every year when Tickets go on sale Fandango Crashes It should be fine by Tuesday Morning. That Is what I did last year and it worked wonderfully! Also with The Yankees game I can sit down and enjoy the game tonight and not worry about missing much when I buy Tickets I will just miss some during the Trailer. I plan to Initially watch the Trailer on my 42 Inch LG HD TV the big screen so to speak and The Yankees game on my Laptop, Watch Xfinity.com ...

Thank you so much man, I really appreciate you letting me know. I'm really unwell today and was dreading the thought of staying up to the early hours.

No worries, hope you feel better tomorrow :)

Question now is whether I go to work early or not. 7am is plenty of time to buy them, get ready and make it to work for 9, but if everything crashes like last time I might be better finger be in work and refreshing there that way I have 2 full hours and I'm not gonna be worried about servers crashing and potentially coming back up whilst I'm driving to work.

I feel ya. TFA was genuinely stressful, after about an hour of crashing I had to go to work and was trying on the way there with my partner and parents at their computers after I called for help. I was beginning to give up and was feeling pretty upset as j had my heart set on midnight, but my partner managed to get through and snag some in a decent-ish spot.

It was like getting concert tickets, never known anything like it. Last year though was an absolute breeze, I was prepared after TFA and got the very first tickets because the demand wasn't nearly as high. Hoping the demand is not as high as TFA again this year or at least that Vue's servers are capable.

Ha, I had the opposite. Breezed through for TFA (I think Empire was the only chain that didn't have issues that year) but for R1 the Leicester Square IMAX had changed to Cineworld and they had loads of issues. Tickets were meant to go on sale at midnight but it felt like they were putting cinemas up one by one. I managed to get great seats when they finally put Leicester Square up after 2:30am! Had the app the site & twitter all refreshing for tickets and info for that one.

Hopefully 3rd time's the charm for all chains this year. No way they can say demand is unexpected anymore.

Logged into Fandango this morning just to prepare the page for refreshing, page crashed after logging in.

    Don't use Fandango today.

That may be with the addition of credits - the 150 was without and 165 is with. TFA had over 10 mins of credits I think.

Fingers crossed! The only time of year I ever get resentful about how popular Star Wars is. If only I was massively into something like gardening and I had none of this stress.

165 min is the THEATER runtime with all the commercials and trailers before it. That's how long people are in the theater before they can start cleaning it. That's not how long the movie itself is.

Ah thanks - again, does that include credits? If it does then we're looking at about 130 minute runtime without credits, if it doesn't we're looking at 140 without credits which would indeed make this the longest SW film.

Since I live in a tiny non-Star Wars-obsessed town, I'm just going to sit back and laugh at everyone buying tickets online while I casually stroll in next month and pick up a handful of tickets for opening weekend...no lines, no hitting refresh. :p

Kidding. I'm not mean enough to do that.

Toilet breaks included? If not they should add some time for cleaning the theater

I check out Fandango this morning and at my theater they have an "opening night fan event" at 6pm on the 14th. If I buy tickets for the actual movie it starts at 7:30pm on the 14th. wonder what this fan event is and if it includes a movie ticket.

I really wish they'd give us the participating theaters for the Star Wars Marathon.

Looks like AMC is out (it's not like they're the largest in the world and country), all they have on the TLJ page is the opening fan event and the double feature.

Yeah, I noticed that. My local theater is a Regal so I'm still holding out hope that we'll have it this time. For TFA the closest theater was an hour away.

I saw the last marathon at one of my local AMC theaters. It started at about 1:00 a.m. the day of release, if I remember correctly, but as that theater doesn't have assigned seating I was paranoid about getting stuck in the first row for an entire day so I got to the theater pretty early the evening before, like maybe 8:00 p.m. or so (joke was on me: the theater was maybe 50% full so I would have been OK). I felt my AMC was very cooperative: we could bring in almost whatever we wanted, we could leave the building and re-enter, and they had an extended break between Episode III and Episode IV which was perfect for leaving and getting some breakfast. I'm still very happy I did it, just for the experience...plus, it felt like forever since I had seen Episode IV on the big screen.

That said, my coworker - with whom I saw the last one - and I both said, "I really hope no local theaters offer a marathon this time so I won't be tempted to do it again." We were there for a long, long time, and I had to attend my wife's office Christmas party the next day (I was like a conquering hero, though, for attending the marathon!), and I felt wrecked the entire next day. Like Bowen said, overall it probably wasn't the best experience for getting a brand new installment when it seemed like it might never happen.
