I do know they alerted people who had bought the full game of Part II remastered today that they can refund it and just buy the $10 upgrade if they already had the PS4 game. Cool to do.
Yeah I think people being mad about the price of that is a big part of the reason there's a $10 upgrade this time.
I do feel the same way about Part I, but even that one at least offered a significant visual upgrade while also tweaking the game play to be more in line with Part II’s. This one appears to offer a minor resolution/lighting bump at best.
But this new game includes new modes, levels, etc. Part 1 didn't really include anything but that visual upgrade. For my part, while I love the game, I certainly refuse to pay full price for that version just because of the graphics alone. I'm content right now with the Remastered version that was available for the PS4. If Part 1 ever becomes available as a PS Plus catalog freebie, then I'll download it for my library.
This is worthwhile for those who have TLOU2 saved in the PS4 version. How to transfer your The Last of Us 2 PS4 save to PS5 for Remastered
I watched the first episode last night. Ana Torv is in it!!! Cant wait to see her character arc, haven't seen her in much since Fringe. Might be the time to say i didn't play the games and don't know the story other than “Fungus among us Zombies.” The gameplay just doesnt capture my attn.
My physical copy got delayed to tomorrow which is totally fine*. Also, if I can get physical copies to digital copies, I absolutely will. I don't care about cost. I'm giving my PS4 copy to my sister and brother-in-law. *because I still have GoW: R plus the DLC, and I just got the new Prince of Persia too.
I just bought the upgrade and will download it later. There's no promise of a multiplayer addition DLC in a future update, is there? It would be cool to go around in the No Return mode with other players as different characters.
Yup. There's definitely a notable difference between how her character starts out in the season, and her condition at the end of the season.
So I just downloaded the new PS5 version of TLOU2 and transferred my saves from the PS4 version. It immediately granted me all of the trophies I'd earned previously. I played through one encounter of the new "No Returns" mode, at the easiest difficulty. It's pretty much what you'd expect, just using essentially all of the tactics that you know from the game including crafting items, stealth, listening, etc. You can complete certain challenges to gain rewards like new skins, weapons, and of course characters. As I mentioned before, I wanted to play as Dina (initially you only have access to Ellie and Abby). To get Dina, it looks like you only need to complete two challenges with Ellie, which is really nothing. I think Lev is the same with Abby.
Apparently the TLOU2 Remaster is getting review-bombed by "angry fans"; mostly carry-overs who just hate on Abby and her story in general.
Finished episode 2. Mando and Grogu are pretty good, and now on their own. Too bad about Cara Dune though. At least was a great casting.
old but still gold (disregard the guy hyping his twitch stream), speaking of which I should add LoU to my twitch watched games
An interesting revelation that may or may not have changed things with the game. The Last of Us 2 Was Originally Going to Kill Off a Major Character (and they're not talking about that character). Spoiler I'm not sure how I'd have reacted if Ellie did actually kill Abby at the end. I mean the world was angry at her, for good reason, towards the beginning of the game; but it did a good job of bringing her character back down to Earth to a point where you almost could sympathize with her. There was only one ending to the game, of course; but it would've been interesting if they did in fact have a Life is Strange-style choice to make to affect the outcome. But then it could ruin any future plans to follow the story moving forward.
And speaking of the way it went. Spoiler The Last Of Us Season 2 Crew Unites… But Where’s Pedro?! He’s alright, right? Someone check he’s alright. Nothing can happen to Joel
