I'm not particularly surprised. The cheap seats are still $250 a ticket. My parents were considering going for the UCLA Gonzaga game, but not at that price. And I'd hate to think what the better seats cost.

Looks like we're going to see all four #1 seeds go down before the Elite Eight.

Miami being the only team left of my elite 8... but no #1s would be great

Then just hoping Xavier eliminates the 2 seeds

I asked this two years ago.

It seems more and more clear that it's going to happen at some point, and probably soon. There's been more and more parity with the best talent being one and done and even not going to college at all, going overseas or to the G league. Legendary coaches who have been around forever are finally retiring. The transfer portal. The relative affordability of college basketball compared to football.

FAU, SDSU, and Creighton would clearly qualify, and I think Gonzaga still qualifies despite their ascension.

you could say that villanova already did it. although they've been good at basketball for a long time and play in a strong conference, they are a small school. if we're talking enrollment, they're much smaller then sdsu and fau.

I'm not really talking enrollment. Villanova won that championship in the Big East when the Big East was the best conference in the country. They had three teams in the Final Four. The Big East was full of highly recruited NBA talent. Patrick Ewing, Chris Mullin, Mark Jackson. Villanova had Ed Pinckney. The Big East was making a huge amount of money at the time due to their innovation.

If Gonzaga wins tonight my brother automatically wins his work pool and a $500 first place prize. And several in his office are pretty big sports gamblers. Meanwhile my brother who while a big sports fan has no idea about college basketball. My nephews (his kids) filled out his bracket for him, yet if Gonzaga pulled this out he can wrap up first place before the Elite 8 is over with. I think even if they lose he still the frontrunner to win and at very worst finishes runner up which has a nice cash prize as well. Welcome to March Madness.

0.3 seconds left on the clock, and the officials just decide the game is over? o_O

The clock started late from the first touch so the refs determined that it was over.

So, Creighton, FAU, and UConn so far. UConn with the biggest basketball history of the three so far.

    Great Tournament.

    Terrible Final Four.

    How does that happen?

FAU all the way. Madness to the bitter end!

    Insane.

I thought those missed free throws were going to haunt those San Diego players forever.

I thought Butler carried but guess he didn't. What a absolute money shot. I must admit the final four is missing some punch but that was a fabulous game!

He'd taken five shots all game. Rolls down the court like nothing, not calling a timeout. Balls of steel there.

It looked bad all the way, too, dribbling himself into a corner with nothing going. He just stopped and popped.
