Mets/Marlins suspended in the top of the 9th due to rain in a game that might very well decide the Marlins playoff fate. The Marlins have to go to Pittsburgh for the weekend and then will almost definitely have to come back to NY to finish up the game on Monday. And if they're in the playoffs, they'll then have to fly to travel to Philadelphia or, more likely, Milwaukee. The Mets, meanwhile, are almost definitely going to be rained out today, and will have to play a doubleheader over the weekend, in addition to having to wait around an extra day to wrap up the season. Which feels rather fitting. Amazing.
I think the Mets crew had a little too much fun with the situation. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Fortunately for the Yankees, they're on the road in Kansas City, where they can finish out the season in these last three important games with the Royals.
Yeah, there is no way the Mets play tonight and tomorrow isn't looking until late afternoon, which means a doubleheader Sunday for the Phillies to blow up their pitching staff two days before the postseason starts. I'm all for whatever makes life miserable for the Marlins and the Phillies. Amazing.
At worst we finish the season even. So I’m greateful for that and grateful the Red Sox will finish below us with a guaranteed losing record. Trying to hold on to any positivity. Suck it @robert martins
About 30-minutes ago on Breakfast with The Beatles, the host did a birthday plug for a dude whose turning 50 today, and will be celebrating by going to Kaufman… so at the very least, he’s got something to look forward to.
You see, if this was maybe about 5 to 10 years ago, I'd have gone along with that. Now I just want the Astros, above all else, to suffer. I'd have even taken the Red Sox of knocking them out of the playoffs if it had come to that.
And the Mets/Phillies are postponed. They are going to try to play a doubleheader tomorrow, which, at the moment, seems ambitious. Amazing.
Forget a doubleheader, they should do a split squad game, like we see in Spring Training. That way they can get two games in at the same time.
Well the Yankees are out of town; might the Mets be willing to sacrifice the wrath of their fans by playing one SS game at The Stadium? It's likely though that the Yankees might have sent their crew home for the season.
It's all down to this weekend. -Arizona just needs to win once, and they're in. -Marlins have to win 2 and the Cubs would be out. Likewise Cubs have to win like every game to not be out and hope for marlins losses. Thing is they're versingthe Brewers and the Marlins have a better chance since they're against the Pirates. In the AL it's more complicated. -Astros and Blue Jay's have the spits, with Jay's having the edge, but if either lose badly the next few games and Seattle plays well...Then Seattle is in. -Seattle plays the Rangers, so a tough fight. If by chance Seattle can take multiple games against them, that puts them atop the division and the Rangers up for a wild card...depending on Houston. But Seattle would have to Sweep. So Rangers are also playing for their lives, but a 2 wins takes the division. -Astros have it tough though, they're versing Arizona who needs to win 1 game to clinch, but a loss tonight depending on the others will hurt Arizona's chances. -Blue Jay's are playing the Ray's so.. Take your pick. Wild weekend
Nice game, Rodon, for your season finale. I'd say that at least you don't have to worry about facing the mighty Royals anymore this season, but in reality, you don't have to worry about facing anybody the rest of the year. Enjoy the Fall and Winter. Edit: We're witnessing history right now in the first inning at KC; of an otherwise unimportant game.
I guess he just wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible. Edit: The Reds actually have a bigger lead! 14-2 over the Cards in the 5th inning. 6 different Reds have hit homers already.
